Why do Mastodon guitars sound so HUGE? What gear do they use?

I think Bernemann was using ENGL cabs and amps and custom Amfisound Kelly with BKP pickups. Atleast his later era. Blackfire is more Marshall guy and using various superstratos.

@@slobnchop The Amfisound Kelly was build in 04, so 3 years after M-16. Also the Amfisound came with EMGs 81/89 at the time. Bernemann mentioned in an interview that he ordered the custom guitar because the Jackson Kelly that he used for about a decade was falling apart touring with Sodom. So it might has been an Jackson Kelly with EMGs, which can be seen in a live video performing M-16 in Wacken 01. In the same video a Marshall 4x12 is next to Bernemann. On top of the Marshall cab are two amps, which i highly suspect to be Engl Savage 120 Mk1 (it's really blurry, but the size of the control plate and the mirror effect suggest it) and he's also himself mentioned his use of the amp on other occasions. Also a another cab with the Sodom logo, which could be an Engl Vintage cab, but that's really hard to tell, can be seen with a rack on top of it, most likely i'd guess this is his Rocktron Intelliflex Multi-FX.

send me my buddies are all pretty much metalheads for the most part we play music and stuff and we're really deep into our passions which involve a lot of our hobbies and likes as far as music as well which is a great thing for us. so we like a lot of bands talk a lot of music, there was a big chunk of time that has just recently kind of ended I guess you could say, where I could not stop talking about Mastodon and trying to put them into every conversation or at least explain what I get from them so fluently and vividly to the point that without necessarily even hearing a song from the band, my friends and audience members that I would chat their ear off but that they would become fans and they would understand what I'm saying and what I get from this band Mastodon. and so many times I mentioned how hilarious they were so it's funny that you mentioned that because even though the music is so deep and so heavy there is such a lively tone about it as well sometimes. like for instance they have a song where they say just close your eyes. and me and my friends were joking one time saying that we were convinced that they played that song at a concert one night or something gave it there all like they usually do and then after the show they're like hey did you catch me when I was trying to nod you over to that dude in the front? any other guy would be like oh the dude that was fucking closing his eyes? and they were just laugh because they have a song that says just close your eyes but when the dude at the concert the fan and the crowd actually closes his eyes on that part like they kind of laugh into like make fun of him with that he's a dork. because that's not like any kind of like brand new lyric by any means at all but it's not supposed to be it's cliche because it can be and it's fucking the best example no matter how New or Old they had the perfect and best example of that particular cliche and they do it all the time. I don't even know if this made sense I didn't use correct punctuation but anyway love Mastodon, great video homie keep up the good work with the channel
