WHY DO MARINES HATE SAILORS?

This video I discuss some of the issues which come about when dealing with marines and navy. It's all brotherly love but many people not in the military don't understand the origins to this sibling rivalry.

Marines don't hate the Navy. If you really want to see fisticuffs, try mixing a bunch of young Marines up in a room with Army soldiers. Believe me, I've seen it happen at Fort Sill!

She enlisted last month, leaves after she graduates high school, and I couldn’t be happier for her.

To carry out the will of our Nation in peacetime and war. And to win!!!! Yeah, its like being rude to a taxi driver. you don't want to piss off the people who are responsible for bringing you to your battles, because eventually, your going to be in need of an evac and if you keep on being mean to them, the Navy is going to refuse to pick you up. technically, the Marines work for the Navy, so the Marines should go out of their way to be nice to Navy sailors whenever they interact or at least show them respect.

It also benefits greenside corpsmen being on a MEU because you’ll have the opportunity to earn your Surface and Air pins and possibly others (depending on the platform) without technically being stationed there. I’ve seen a brand new greenside HN walk away from a MEU deployment with 4 WARFARE DEVICES!!

After all, We Build, We Fight! Add some real bombers and transport aircraft and there would be no need for the Army and Air Force. Marines don’t hate the Navy, but unless you’re a corpsman attached to 03s or a SEAL then you’re simply not gonna get as much respect from Marines. You just can’t ask me to respect a sailor who went through Navy Basic the same way I respect one of my Marines that went through USMC boot camp. USMC is clearly much tougher. Our jobs are more dangerous. Even the POGs are trained and combat efficient in the Corps. Every Marine signed up for up close and personal combat and is a little psycho in the head. Y’all signed up to be on a ship. I respect you for serving but it’s just not the same.

The reason why the Corps despises the Navy is this: The Navy abandoned the US MARINES on Quadalcanal due to the Japanese Fleet moving in on their ships. Marines were left with no resupport of ammunition, food, fire support, or medical support except for the few unlucky corpsmen. Marines starved and died from wounds, illness, maleria, disentary... to name a few. It took those units over a year to fully recover. Yet, we still won that battle, no thanks to the squid-force. This act of cowardice has been passed down through generations of Marines and we have not forgotten it. Look it up if you believe I am full of crap.

This is a pretty disingenuous statement. Yes, Guadalcanal was horseshit and Marines AND sailors were left stranded... However, you make it sound like command went around all the ships and had the sailors vote on wether or not they wanted to leave. It was a command decision. Not a bunch of e-3's. They left for fear of what little fleet they had would be destroyed by the encroaching Japanese fleet because air cover had been pulled out. I absolutely hate how my fellow Marines were left stranded, but at the the time, the sad reality was it was easier to replace men than ships.

All I can is America can thank our Lord it was we Marines abandoned, we took a really crappy situation and turned it into a victory. I don't know if the Army could have done it. Semper FI

@@earrowood1352 I have spoken to one. Iwo survivors too. I used to make it a habit to go to VFW's and talk to some of the old Corps. Hell yeah they were salty about it, rightly so, but as Marines they understood the tactical decisions involved. I asked him how he dealt with it, he said " I'm a Marine".. Nuff' said.. You're still not grasping the concept that you're disparaging the entire Navy over the decisions of a handful of asshat Naval officers which is why I made the point it wasn't e-3's that made the decision. It wasn't the "Navy" that made the decision. It was a small percentage of Navy brass that made that decision. I've had a lot of sailors work for me and not once did I look at them and think " Piece of shit squids. They left my Marines on Guadal" Semper Fi

Biggest gripe of Marines for the Navy, historically, is the abandonment at Guadalcanal after the battle of Salvo Island. The Navy suffered it worsts defeat there in it’s history. The Navy had to withdraw. However the truth was during the fighting at Guadalcanal there were more sailors lost than Marines. For each Marine lost the Navy lost 4 sailors.
