Why do I own THREE of these mixers? Shure SCM410 review

Музыка

The Shure SCM410 and its bigger brother the SCM810 are great options for conference halls, churches, and meeting rooms. I personally use them for adding extra microphones to DJ rigs as well as for rentals where the end user just needs to be able to plug in some microphones and have them sound good.

How well will it work if on the single XLR out, into a "Y" and run each to a left and right powered speakers?

It would really depend on the splitter. If your speakers have an output it would likely be better to daisy chain them instead of splitting.

Thanks for the video! I play DnD with my buddies and it's usually a hybrid setup, someone may join over Zoom while others are in person. I want to get better audio than a conference speaker. Would lapel mics, a used SCM410, and aux to pc be a good solution?

A used one of these could be a great option, but also keep an eye out for a used mixer with USB I/O as it may make setup a bit easier. For mics I would go with standard stage vocal mics over lapel mics. My go to budget recommendations these days are the CAD D38 3 pack or some Behringer XM8500s. They will have better sound quality and less background noise than a lapel mic. Put them on some cheap table mounted booms or desk stands and you are set. Keep and eye out as well, I have a video specifically about better audio for D&D live streams coming soon.

Fantastic video, thanks. May I ask for the model number of Rolls? Automixer with line input?

Thanks for watching. If I implied that Rolls has options with an auto mixer I misspoke. They do offer some rack mount mixers with ducking and whatnot, but nothing as sophisticated as these Shure options (to my knowledge at least). I still have a Rolls kicking around and they are handy for installs and simple setups.

@MaxSplVideos thanks, after your video I got clockaudio mr 88. In theory it'll automix line in and microphone and it's password protected.

They are very clean/quiet. If the price is right go for it, but the auto features are aimed at spoken word so I wouldn't use them for instruments/amps personally.

Technically you could use it that way with the right adapters but I would not use it for that. I recommend a more traditional mixer. I personally use the Samson Mixpad because I like having reverb and compressors for my vocals. The CAD MXU-4FX would be a good budget alternative as well.
