At this point I think I have tried almost EVERY tarte foundation and I just can not get them to work for me. Unfortunately this one ended up staying really oily on my skin and breaking me out. I had to wash it off pretty quickly after filming because it was tingling and also causing my other makeup to smear over my face. Yet I am still determined to find one that might work for me! Do you guys have any suggestions? Also I miss all of you guys and I hope to be back to full time soon! Love ya💖

Yeah I got their little lip balm pot with the cute flower lid in an Ipsy box. It’s a little “young” packaging for a 32 year old lady like myself, but all the packaging is really cute and I can see how it’d appeal to the younger folks. Awake Beauty is also Tarte’s sister brand and they seem to be targeted to the same demographic

I’ve had to set every stick foundation I’ve ever tried with powder. I think most stick foundations are oily because they need the oil to glide on nicely.

Sugar rush is tarte trying to appeal to the younger generation interested in makeup. The products in this line are, if i remember correctly, all under like 30 dollars (yes I used to work in a beauty store and even set up this display when they first came out with this off brand)

I really like the tarte Rainforest of the Sea foundation HOWEVER I have oily skin and tarte markets that foundation for dry skin. It's definitely more of a demi matte and clings to dry patches, but works really well for my oily/combo skin. If tarte marketed it for oilier people, I do think it would also have better reviews because it's fantastic for oily skin imo

I have been trying out Tarte foundations for a while. I generally have to use a primer or set with a powder to get them to work best. I ordered the kit and picked up the sugar rush tinted moisturizer to use for the summer and I already reordered it during the 50% off foundation sale this week. Great to see you back! I find it brave to even put on foundation when it's super hot! I find a lot of Tarte's products are hit and miss. I haven't tried anything from the brand in a few years because I tried a lot in a short period and only enjoyed the blushes. I felt like the eyeshadows didnt have enough payoff and everything was pretty average. I think they are great with powders that don't have to be super pigmented, like blush, but everything else seems pretty meh. I'm always tempted to try it out again with these kits, but I'm so picky with foundation and eyeshadow. I hope you're feeling better! 2020 is the worst, but at least we can all commiserate with each other about how much of a dumpster fire it is. We're more than halfway through and on Jan. 1, 2021 we can all celebrate that we made it and look forward to better things. Keep on fighting ❤

Me Not you I have had a couple and thought they have been pretty good, it depends how quick you are though in ordering as items become unavailable after a couple of hours or so. It is good for getting very cheap refills I.e. mascara, foundation etc. Xxx

Stick foundation generally is on the oily side so I use a setting powder to matte it down. Missed you!

So glad to see you back! I'll second everybody else saying you need to prime and powder-set stick foundation like that. I used to do a fair amount of stage acting, and had to learn how to wear cake and stick foundations. One tip I learned with stick is, once you've set it with powder, wet a paper towel with icy-cold water and smooth it over your face like a sheet mask. It helps with sinking the powder into the greasepaint (which is what stick foundation is, really) and generally sets the whole mess.

Your energy always seems so natural and friendly; like you're my friend who is just telling me about something I'd never buy myself but always wondered about.

I absolutely love these videos. Not only are they educational-really I am lost when it comes to all of the techniques and products, but I am trying to learn and these videos are funny, and always make me feel good!

I actually got the kit this year for the first time! I got the same brush, and bag. I picked the foundcealer, the little sugar rush palette that has the sunglasses on it, the lights camera lashes mascara with the flamingos on it (I love flamingos) and an Amazonian Clay blush! Also picked that eyebrow pomade, I like everything so far. The foundation hasn’t gone on my entire face because of wearing a mask but from what I’ve worn I like it! OHH!! I’m glad you’re back, I missed your videos!!

So happy to see you again! I got my 1st build-your-own Tarte box this time. I chose the Foundcealer in 22b light beige (for the spf). It's not as full coverage as you usually like, but I feel that paired with concealer & a tinted powder or powder foundation it could work well with your skin. I do like to use primer though, so that may affect the result.
