My cats love to lie on newspapers . They will also jump into our suitcases while we are packing. Laundry baskets are a big hit too.

My huge feral bobtail cat just loves food shopping day because he loves to rifle the bags looking for some new toy. Then he just lays on them till they get put away.

Little kids like boxes too, but they seldom get the chance to have them. Try it out.

Years ago, I spent $8 on some boxes (4) and strong packaging tape from a mini storage company. I made a house out of these, with the largest box on top. Inside this box, I cut a hole in the floor that went to the box below it (the middle box of the three on the bottom) and it also had a hole cut into the front my cat could get into. It was situated sideways relative to the lower three boxes, so there was a 'porch', so to speak, at the front entrance. Inside the middle box, I cut a hole on the left and right side of the box that went into the other two boxes on the bottom of the house. The bottom right box had tiny slits cut into it near the top my cat could look out of. The box on the left box had a 'window' cut out of it that I put window tint over, so he could look out but we couldn't see in. It also had the only door into the bottom of the house cut into the back of the box. The middle box only had the hole up to the loft box and had no windows. My Bengal loved that thing so much. One of his favorite things to do was to run down the hall and jump onto the top of the 'window' box, then he would get trampolined up to the roof of the penthouse. He also used the rear door entrance and spent time in all three bottom boxes, as well as the penthouse and its porch, depending on his mood. Take the time, put a little thought and money into it, and build your cat(s) a cardboard house. My Bengal used his for many years.

@@RedRoseSeptember22 I didn't do that, but the house was his Christmas present when I made it. I couldn't bear to part with it until about three years after he passed. I ended up burning it in my fireplace. Man, I miss my Bengal.

Both of my cats love boxes, lol, they squished into a shoebox until the thing literally fell apart. I didn’t have the heart to throw it away. I would like to know why one of my cats steals anything not nailed down, he lives quite the thug life. He has stolen a bag of frozen corn off the counter and hauled it upstairs, bags of bread, a bag of rice…😖 and yesterday, I watched him paw through my purse hanging on a chair, stick his head in and make off with a bag of cough drops I had just bought. I have had cats all my life and have never seen a cat do this. 🤷‍♀️

One of my cats is attracted to plastic she licks it. But it was mostly the grocery bags that are no longer in use now.

I saw a program (can't remember the name of it) where wildlife workers placed a big box out in a field to see if the big cats like boxes. They do. It was fun to watch bob-cats jumping it and out of it.

We keep boxs of all different kinds available for them to enjoy. We LOVE our girls (4 now but we have had 7 at one time) rescues every one. We have a big old 2 story home with a full basement as well so they have plenty of room. They are viewed as being our "daughters" and love them so much! Of course they are always spoiled rotten.

I cut a hole in the side of a huge cardboard box and attached a cat tunnel to the hole for my cat to play in. He wasn't that interested in the tunnel until I added the box and now he loves it! He also loves cardboard scratchers and refuses to use any other type

Cardboard boxes offer a warm, safe hiding spot that are also satisfying to chew and scratch, but I think there's another reason. Odor. Being a porous material, cardboard absorbs and retains odors for a very long time. Imaging all the interesting odors that a cat's powerful sense of smell will detect on a cardboard box. The glue and ink from the box's manufacture, whatever product was shipped or stored inside the box, the smell of the warehouses - including any resident rodents or bugs, the insides of the delivery vans, the retail store, every person who recently handled the box, and your own car or front porch.

My Cobain's first Christmas was a hit for him, he absolutely loved all the boxes, most of them medium and small [Christmas wasn't a hit for me🙃!]. He still has a couple that he loves jumping into and jumping out to sneak attack my legs [gently of course] and I laugh and he loves it!😹😹😹I think its hilarious to watch him play in general!

I have seven cats, all rescues, and one thing they love, within the "cardboard box genre", is a a box is lying on its side with a T-shirt over it, so the collar is placed on the open end so it works as a portal, or "a door". I also learned boxes have to be changed frequently, like, every two weeks or so, because cats get bored with them very quickly.

Yes i have boxes in several rooms of the house. My cat 😺 Jen just loves them. We play hide and seek together lol 😺. Also the brown wrapping paper is an accessory. Jen will burrow herself under the sheets of paper in the box. And i act like ive lost her. Then WITHOUT warning as i walk away she'll bounce out of the box and paper lol 😺🤣

Cheapest (most convenient) toy ever 😻 Paper bags are great too!!

My cat, Inky, a shelter cat I adopted 6 years ago, will not go into any box of any type or shape. I remodeled my kitchen, and he had a choice of 16 different boxes of all shapes and sizes that the cabinets came in, and not once did he even check one out. He's not afraid of boxes because he'll sit on an empty box but won't go in. One exception is a Chewy box. Won't go in, but he'll give it a super sniff. Everything above also applies to paper bags.

If I lose everything and end up living under a bridge in a cardboard box I know that my cat will never leave me.

My cat loves to leap into plastic bags, put her head through the handle and wears it like the latest fashion! She can take or leave boxes! lol.

Paper grocery sacks are EXCELLENT too! Especially when doubled up. Lay it on it's side and they crawl in every time.

My cat won't go into an expensive enclosed cat bed I bought, but a random Amazon box is irresistible to her. It's so strange. Cats will always be an enigma.

My cat loves her chewy box of course! Any types of boxes and plastic bins she loves to get into. She also loves to lay on paper, and any time we play monopoly, she has to come sit on the board

My cats have always loved boxes. My current kitty also loves bags, duffle bags, luggage. And she, too, likes to sit on things...my laptop, planner, you name it. I recently bought her one of those donut beds, I need space in mine. And it's working! I put it on the unoccupied side of my bed and now have personal space for sleeping!

Mine like sitting on TOP of the boxes. . .so we forever have a couple boxes flipped upside down for them to sleep on. There are others they can crawl in too. I think it makes sense that they may want an enclosed bit of territory that no one else seems to care about. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. They enjoy boxes, they get boxes.

My cat's favorite kind of box is my backpack! She loves regular cardboxes, but the texture of my backpack and one of my bedsheets are her favorites!!

My cats are terrified of boxes. They are both rescues so I don’t know their history but they were only 3 months and 6 months. But they refuse to go into cardboard boxes.

My cat also loves to sit on top of boxes. Like when I got a package in the mail and put it on my bed, then she jumped on top of it instead of staying on the bed. :)

I've not heard of the square study but I find that super interesting. My cat is blind, and he still likes to sit on random flat objects on the ground. A piece of tissue paper fell on the floor over the holidays, and I've not had the heart to pick it up because he loves camping out on it.

Our cats love a cheap foam thermal cooler tipped on its side. A very warm box.

My cats don't really like boxes, or enclosed spaces. But any square of rectangular object is very much their love. They do use the very low walled boxed like those used for packs of 24 cans of food.

Only one of our cats will use the cat bed, but most of the time they prefer sleeping with us in our bed haha :D

My 3 cats love boxes and they do love to sit on anything rectangular as well; particularly my laptop or whatever book I happen to be reading.

My poor 13 yr old cat has never been in a box

Mom's cat Julius was kinda scared of lightning. From time he was a kitten, he'd jump up on the washer and then on top of the fridge. On top of the fridge there was a small ice container (we got a bigger one for the ice maker), he'd get in that and hide from the thunder/lightning. Well when he was a baby, you couldn't see him hardly, but he got to be a bit bigger than Wessie so he looked like an ice cream cone sitting in that box. Mama moved it once, he kinda flipped out (stand on top of the fridge yawling) , I put it back up there and he was OK. He was a hoot.

Would love a video on cat handling practices and products. My current foster has aggression issues that I'm working on, but until he settles down he can be pretty vicious. (I am using Feliway, btw).

I have a cat that loves her box. She spends some time in it every day . Posy has a tendency to be cold. Every time the Amazon man comes, she can’t wait to try out the new box. I have cat beds that are covered, she never tries them. Her sisters try out the boxes but are only popping in & out every now & then.

Mine loved them as a kitten. He's a little too spoiled now, and a simple box no longer pleases him :P

Mine love boxes. I think their favorite have the "handles" that are holes. They can swat me and each other through them. Never kept boxes around for cats before. 2020 became the year of doing this.

Good timing, I'm in the process of creating a box hotel from all my current kibby boxes. 3 boxes if you must know. 3 large boxes.

My 3 cats love cardboard boxes. They all love to chew and tear them apart. The funniest thing is, the fattest one loves to get into the smallest boxes.

I'm sorry for this being off topic of the video but not the channel. I've looked for and can't find a good kitten treat for puzzle toys since they normally need a dry cat treat. Was hoping to get some ideas good foods for puzzles and training. Thank you so much for everything you do to help humans take care of their four (or sometimes less) legged family members!

I just put a small Walmart box on the couch where I have their Pet fusion cover my 14 year old cat Pecanpie went in even though he bigger he fits himself inside.

My cat doesn’t like boxes. He will chew on them, but will not go into them. He does like his cat bed and laying on random pieces of paper, but no boxes. When I adopted him, I was told he wouldn’t do well with dogs from his former family. I figure he has some sort of trauma with dogs and boxes. 😢

My Agatha will sit on and sleep in any box she can find. 🐱

My rescue cat who was very aggressive at the shelter rolled over a couple days after moving in to show me she trusted me. She loves belly rubs!

My spoiled kitty's have thier own toybox full of toys which they love, especially just digging them all out to throw on the floor. Thier most favorite toys however are thier cardboard house which is enclosed with just a swinging door cut out an a piece of clothesline with knotted ends. Money just can't buy everything.

Totally unrelated. Is there a way to distinguish between my cat trying to get my attention or my cat just being loud while playing? Sometimes I'm sitting at my desk ,hear her and think she wants something but then when i watch she's just playing. Talking to imaginary enemies?

My Rici 🐈‍⬛️ she is 16 years old and she hates boxes 📦 and I don't understand why, all my other cats have loved them. We adopted her when she was 11. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I recently purchased an Els Pet litter box and am wondering what litter you recommend. I have tried a couple of top brand clay clumping and find that the urine still makes mud pies on the bottom. I wouldn't think that I would have to pull the bottom tray at 2 to 3 times a week and clean it. I may as well go back to a standard litter box. Thanks, Clint

my male cat ignores cardboard boxes and my female cat only chews on them. i would be woken up by the sound of her chewing and find bits of cardboard on the floor. now any box goes quickly into recycling bin.

Pesky cats in a box!

ugh. My cat pees on a cardboard box if left empty on the floor. I think it's a territorial thing... bah

My cat, Scribbles, loves boxes too, but she gets tired of one fairly quickly and never steps inside again. This applies to her bed as well. She gets tired of one and never revisits it again. I have stopped buying new beds for her because I have 3 or 4 beds lying around the house collecting dust.

I have yet to discover a cardboard box or paper bag that my cat will not go into! It is also true that they love to sit on newspaper, or even a magazine. And I find this is true also for a small rug.
