I wonder how many hours of sleep we've lost because of our cats? LOL! ... I still think we need to make an alarm clock which has the sound of a cat about to puke, this would get every cat owner out of bed immediately!! :)

@@MaticJ29 Nah. When I had cats growing up and I'd stand and carry them with me. Most were okay with it or jumped down. But Luna (a brown/ cream bottle brush tabby) got upset at being carried but still wanted to be on me, so she climbed up on my shoulders and rode like a parrot or scarf; she'd jump on my back while I was playing piano or and watch or the small of my back doing homework and climb to my shoulders when I got up. She wanted her human, but it HAD to be on her terms, and she was creative enough to figure it out XD I still have some of her claw slip scars on my back to prove it decades later.

Wikaa0_0 - I didn’t have a cat for THIRTY YEARS - until I moved into my own house in an area far from traffic. There was an eight-year-old neighborhood stray (actually abandoned!) cat who I adopted four years ago. He was a pretty ferocious kitty for about six months, but he has become a TOTAL gentle sweetheart over the years. I gently let him know I didn’t want him to attack me (by giving him short “time outs”) and he learned not to bite or scratch me. I am VERY proud of how he learned to be gentle with me. When I adopted him, I vowed I would NEVER abandon him no matter what he did, so, he was my kitty forever the day he came inside for his first meal. It was MY responsibility to be patient and loving no matter what, and it paid off! Now he is a TOTAL gentle sweetheart - and not just with me, but everyone (including dogs and other cats). So, one day a cat may decide you are his buddy and you will have a wonderful cat. Be sure to be patient though.

Here’s a thought: one of the reasons cats might like sleeping with us is that they are trying to make US happy. My kitty will often hop on my bed and cuddle up after he’s warmed up by the fireplace for a while. Why leave a nice warm fireplace for my bed? Maybe to make me happy by keeping me company?

@MaXaM - I had the exact same experience when I was a kid! I was crying and my cat came in looking worried. He hopped right up to me and rubbed his face against me to comfort me! This was almost fifty years ago, so I forget if my cat meowed (he probably did), but it was TOTALLY obvious that he was worried about me and he did his best to comfort me - and he did! Like you, I didn’t think cats could tell that a person was upset - but HE did! It was amazing! Not only did he KNOW I was upset, but he did his absolute best to try to make me feel better. I DID feel better knowing that my beloved kitty was worried about me and he did a great job of helping me recover from my sadness. Thank you for sharing your story!

@@ROlymps193 - People think that cats just want to get warm when they sleep with you, but I know it’s much more than that. Your cat loves you and is happy when he is near you. I’m sure you let him know that you are happy when he sleeps near you, so, he wants YOU to be happy.

I always call my cat to sleep with me on the bed but she chooses to sleep elsewhere and when I woke up in the middle of the night she's cuddled up next to me ❤

Before they left us our two cats always slept between my legs, on top of the covers. I could never roll over, I was pinned. After they were gone, it took me months to realize I could then roll over. I miss them both so very very much and I always will.

I can relate. All my three cats wait for me to turn in so that they can sleep on my bed. One in my arms, the others on each side or sometimes inside the covers :)

My kitty sleeps by my feet every night, sometimes I wake up on my stomach and can't move because she's in between my legs. She knows I'm heading to sleep when I get under the covers and she'll jump up for a quick goodnight cuddle session before curling up at the end of the bed ❤.

Yep. If I wasn't out of bed yet around 7.30 in the weekends, my cat would come upstairs and jump onto my bed. He would jump onto bed at my foot end, walk upwards along my right side, rub his head against my head, then walk over my pillow (stepping on my hair, ouch!), walk towards my left side. Then he would lay down and push himself into my face, or to my chest. We would lay there for another hour. In the end he trusted me so much that I could lay my arm over him and he wouldn't mind. I miss you, buddy.

My cat, Clover, has the Queen sized bed to herself. My Fibromyalgia makes it impossible to sleep flat. She visits me though.

When my cat was alive, I literally couldn’t fall asleep unless he was either next to me or on my legs. I went from having a security blanket to a security cat.

I feel bad when the cats think I’m going to bed and then I don’t. They race in the bedroom and jump on the bed. I feel terrible explaining that it’s no quite bed time.

Since I retired, I have a crazy sleep pattern...to bed between 3 and 4 and up around 10. He's adjusted, but sometimes our schedule gets messed up, where he's been sleeping for many hours and I'm ready to finally go to bed, then he'll want out and unless it's raining or freezing, he'll spend the night hunting and sleeping on the swing on the deck. He is a proficient hunter and I don't know how he hasn't wiped out the mole population around here, and, most of the time he eats his prey! Ugh!

@@shilohauraable LOL. Growing up, I always felt more awake at night had a really hard time waking up in the mornings. Going to school and then working, I had no choice in the matter, so I guess now, my natural circadian rhythm is finally getting to do it's thing. It used to puzzle my husband how I would start cleaning and get more active in the evenings, when he was winding down! I kind of wish it was more 'normal' because mornings are so nice!

When I still lived with my parents as a teen, the family cat often loved to come up to my bed during the night or very early in the morning and lie in between my arm and body, essentially using my shoulder and armpit as a pillow. It was adorable.

humans eyes go left to right under our sleeping eyelids while in rem sleep. cats find it fascinating. and will sit on or by your face to watch. that's why sometimes they accidentally suffocate infants.

Both of my cats sleep with me. One is between my legs and the other one usually at my chest or head, but sometimes also between my legs. They're so cute.

My cats definitely let me sleep...with them...it's their house. I just come here to feed them, lol. Love your kitties!🐾💕👍🏻
