The reason why is because on the national hair companies put it out there Hair Grease is bad for Natural Hair, so that people with natural hair can buy there high natural hair products that don’t really works much and you’re paying coins for BS in the long run. Meanwhile Blue Magic Grease is like $3 and this hair product douse the job just right, it’s a shame how these hair companies are getting our money like that I stopped use in these natural hair products years ago and my hair is so long at 32 inches long in 2019 I went back to that good Blue Magic my Hair Loves it 😍😍😍

As a child when I get my hair washed and pressed, My mom used Sulfur 8 shampoo, let my hair air dry. Used Ultra Sheen (yellow) when pressing and. used the blue on my scalp.

I had this persistent dry patch on the crown of my head that no matter how often I oiled would go back to being dry, and inflamed. Got out an old jar of Blue Magic ('cause you know grease never runs out lol), began greasing my scalp again, and eureka! Buttersoft scalp and pliable roots. Why, oh why did I ever take grease out of my rotation? Never again.

Now is a good time to go natural because grease is making a comeback! :-) When I big chopped in 2012, the "grease is bad for your hair/old school products are bad for your hair" pandemonium was in FULL effect! Unfortunately, I got caught up in the hype. I came out of that in 2014 when I found Sta-Sof-Fro as my STAPLE moisturizer. Nothing else would keep my hair moisturized. Not Shea Moisture, As I Am, Carol's Daughter, Kinky Kurly Knot Today, or anything else I tried as a moisturizer. N-O-T-H-I-N-G! Coconut oil, olive oil, and shea butter did not work as sealants for me. They literally just sat on my hair. Ugh! Although my hair did tend to like grapeseed oil. In 2017, I starting using grease (Blue Magic) as a sealant; especially when I my wore my hair out. I use Sulfur 8 to grease my scalp. There was nothing wrong with grease back in the day when our mommas used it on us and themselves; and our hair was in excellent condition!

Those so-called "gurus" wanted to turn us away from the petroleum jelly a.k.a. Vaseline and mineral oil. Blue Magic never took those two ingredients out of their product. But if you noticed now, mineral oil is the "it" thing now. It was coconut oil, Jamaican oil, and whatever else is/was popular. I remember when my mom used it on my hair and it was long and healthy. Washed it on Sundays and pressed it with the yellow Ultra Sheen and greased the scalp with Blue Magic. As I got older and did my own hair, it broke off, changed hair products and my hair was NEVER the same. Now, I am 100% natural.

Well it actually does have "harmful chemicals" (Green 6 and Violet 2). The other two ingredients that can be harmful to SOME are mineral oil and petroleum. Since I have an oily scalp it sucks out all the moisture in my hair. Doesn't matter if it's grease or in curl cream. Those two ingredients don't add moisture to the hair, they actually block moisture from the external environment from penetrating the hair strands. Now they are really good as a sealant if you already added a leave-in and or curling cream. It keeps the moisture from leaving the hair. I say whatever works for your hair, keep doing it. I know I will be getting this conditioner for a friend of mine because she uses straight Vaseline in her natural hair. At least this has other conditioning agents that might benefit her hair as well.

@@charmainedavis6442 I said it blocks out moisture from the external environment. This means if you apply products with glycerin or other types of humectants (which extract moisture from the external environment to keep hair hydrated) applying grease over those types of products will prevent them from doing what they're formulated for. Grease is a sealant, not a moisturizer.

If you use hair grease and leave-in conditioners without at least damping the hair with water then where is the moisture coming from? At least spritz it with water. water is moisture. Thank you! Please say it louder because ppl are really putting grease on DRY HAIR then complaining that they have issues! Like who doesn't know this. That's exactly how I used it growing up. Water, leave-in, grease. Also, ppl need to understand that using grease in their hair can't be washed out with a cowash only sulfates.

Once I hit it with some water and leave-in then grease ... OH GOSH MY HAIR FLOURISHING! No breakage, no dryness, what even are fairy knots ??? Cuz I don’t know ! Your came out great. I haven’t used Cantu in years...it just doesn’t work for my hair anymore...now the Mane Choice I love the leave-in you used. For the Mane Choice side it looks like your hair is fuller and fluffier. I just started looking into grease again. I’ve been having a tough time trying to keep my dry hair moisturized...hence my breakage. I stopped using tools to detangle my hair which has made a big difference but I still need to keep moisture in my low porosity hair. I now use clarified (ghee) butter per Curly Nikki who was on the Dr. Oz show. I put this in the night before I cleanse...so I did have a bit less breakage but I’m trying to illuminate that. I’m going to try the grease again since when my mom used it on my hair as a kid my hair was super thick and long. Guess it’s time to go back old school style.

I really want to try this. I never did because I was born in Australia to a Sri Lankan mother who didn’t really know how take care of very curly hair. I don’t think we had blue Magic in Australia. If you had to type my hair I would say it’s 3c and 4a on the back. Now I’m able to get this product since I’m in America now. I struggle with keeping the moisture in my hair. I see a lot of different blue magic products, like leave ins.. I don’t know what kind to get, but watching all of these videos and reading the comments has me curious. I use all of these products that the gurus recommend and I stil feel it’s so hard to RETAIN the moisture! Thanks for the video

Make sure to spray the hair with water before applying the grease. You can either do 1)water and grease on top, 2)Leave in conditioner then hair grease on top or 3)moisturizer then hair grease on top. Just make sure your hair is somewhat damp. Play around and find what works for your hair type. Peace and blessings.

I think grease works better for me when I freshly wash my hair then oil my scalp then coat my hair strands with grease twist up in a bun or about 4 big chunky twist Bobby pin them up the moisture stays locked in for days if I tie my head up every night.,
