I haven't seen that trend as of yet, but I pray it does come. What may be skewing such posits are the hard-hearted unbelievers who may identify as Christians, but ignore His Word. It is interesting that Darwin's book was so successful because the pride and arrogance of the Enlightenment helped make the 19th century the worst in perhaps in all of Christendom. But the Kingdom of God is not of this world.

Is there any evidence 'the Church ' believed in creation before the 1950? Most of the literal reading is extremely modern and American not a lot of historical sources for this. American Protestants are some of the most un Biblical Christians sects and just invent there own interpretation as they want, I mean if you go to two Churches in one town you will find extremely different teachings. Creationism was invented Seventh-day Adventists and they are about as Christian as Mormans are.

I'm inclined to say much of the Church switched views because in large part it has lost it's confidence/belief in the sovereignty of God in salvation - like that professor saying "if we take a literal view, the Gospel may become incredible to intellectuals." According to 1 Corinthians 1, the gospel is intrinsically incredible to intellectuals - that's the point. It isn't by wisdom or proofs that one comes to believe, it's by the power of God manifested through the foolishness of preaching. Without God's sovereignty in calling the elect, it becomes our job to try and coax and persuade and prove people into the kingdom of heaven. Loss of that sovereign view led to an emphasis on Philosophical proofs in the early church (e.g., Justin Martyr allegorizing of much of the old testament), and loss of that view in the enlightenment era has led to emphasis on scientific proofs.

Or the merge from Rome's pagan faith into christianity was not Intended to glorify the Lord, but rather the European monarchy and the papacy! Intended on infiltrating the young and up & coming faith known at the time as the Natsarine or the(Nazarene) because for 300 years, they failed to extinguish them! So they put on the guise of Christianity, but in the night and in secret, to this very day they still worship their pagan god(s), who is Legion, and Satan! This is why the Catholic church has always been caught and accused of pedophilia! And it gets worse then molestations! Sacrificing babies all the way up to adults, torturing them and drinking their blood and getting high from their adrenaline that was released during their torture! Back in the year 2000 there was a construction company in Italy doing the renovation of an old orphanage and when they dug up the septic they discovered it was full of dead children's remains! A court date was set for it and to my knowledge nothing else was heard of it

Where did you get this heretical teaching? Jesus died for all men. God calls all men. The "elect" are the Jews. God's "sovereignty" is above your pay grade, obviously. If you believe this unbiblical doctrine, you have missed the simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for good reason. Believers in Christ do NOT have to poke and prod people, and we don't need to prove anything to anyone! We simply speak the truth of who Jesus IS, and what he DID when he conquered DEATH for ALL MEN, and that he secured salvation for ALL MEN! The free gift of God's grace is available to anyone at any time. Just believe...

@@AmyB1961 Predominantly from Romans 9 and John 6, though when you accept God’s sovereignty in salvation you start to see the doctrine lacing the whole Bible. You are right to say, “Just believe,” but the question is how or why did you start to believe? Before you believed, weren’t you perishing in your sins? But “the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God…For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are *called* , both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. (1 Cor 1:18, 22-24) God calls all men in the sense that all are commanded to repentance and belief, but that’s distinct from being drawn to Christ, as in John 6 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:44)

@Brian Johnson You are mixing things up. Try reading the bible, and praying about what you are reading without ANY influence from another man. You say a lot of words, but have no real idea of what salvation even is. Apparently. Salvation was made possible because Jesus conquererd Death. When a person believes on Jesus Christ as Savior FROM Death, they are translated INTO the Kingdom of LIGHT and LIFE. Jesus IS that Life. It is like stepping through a door...a man becomes a NEW CREATURE, and is now living IN LIGHT. A saved-from-Death man is no longer who he was. When you understand what salvation IS, THEN you will no longer have to fill your mind with many words of supposed wisdom. You will be free to live in the peace that passes (human) understanding. You will be raised UP into LIFE eternal, and KNOW who you are in Christ. Jesus shed his blood, which IS LIFE, for all men, and secured salvation for all: past, present, and future. His free gift of LIFE is not just for a few. Salvation from Eternal Death TO Eternal Life is available to anyone, at any time, no matter the depths of darkness and sin they currently reside in. Jesus came to bind the Darkness forever, and to RECLAIM what he created for Himself....because of LOVE.

I very much enjoyed listening to this, he even gets the whole redemptive Gospel message in there, aka, Creation, the fall, the need for Salvation, Jesus the fullfilment, and the hope we have..... I really don't know why people struggle with the very plain and simple account of creation as written in the Bible. God is God. Yes, He could have instantly done it all in a nanosecond, or, taken billions of years to do it, otherwise He wouldn't be God. Big bang and evolution theories were not what He did and are not what we see in scripture. God chose to Carry out the Creation in 6 days, told us how He did it, and that's all there is to it. If we can't trust God at hHis word, how can we trust Him to uphold the promise of our Salvation, resurection and eternity with Jesus on the new earth that will also be created.

I also attended Catholic School in the 60’s and 70’s. It is true we did not have Bibles in our class rooms but the Baltimore Catechism is filled with quotes to back up the lessons. When Vatican ll was pushed on all of us a new modern catechism was introduced that was to pave the way for the New Modern Age, with a new mass called the Novus Ordo (new order of the Mass). Thankfully my parents could see the destruction and we separated ourselves along with many others to keep the Faith as it was before Vatican ll. The Catholic Faith is strong and alive but has returned to a remnant few. We are all on a journey to a better home above. During this voyage there will be rough storms and the way unclear. Finding Christ, the whole Christ is a real trip. He knows what is in our hearts and the struggles we each face. The knowledge or lack of it, He also considers. There are those who have not the true faith but their love of God put to shame many who do. A consoling teaching of the Church is on Invincilble Ignorance. Where a person is unable to come to a full knowledge of the Faith because he is hindered by circumcisions of his own life. Some are born to worldly parents and never even heard of Him. Others born to parents who only know of Him through false teachers. Take the Mormons for example. There Jesus is totally different from what all other Christian Churches believe. They do not teach that he is God, The Second Person of the Trinity. That said, many Mormons live very edifying lives. They live good lives but are still obliged to seek the truth but are hindered by the error of Mormonism. The truth is Christ only founded one church but like her founder has always been ripped apart. It is an historical fact. For example: What happened in England in the 15 and 1600’s. There was much corruption especially among the clergy. This gave such scandal that men rose up against her and started their own Churches. Called the Protestant Reformation. At the same time others rose up and reformed the clergy called the Counter-reformation. Christ did promise He would be with the Church to the end of times but also warned us that towards the end when He returns, “would He even find faith on earth (Luke 17 and Matthew 24) because of false teachers. I do not argue about religious believes. We all struggle to know the truth. There are more churches today then there are gas stations. Each holding there own interruption of the Bible. Strike the Shepherd and the sheep will be scatted. Seek and you shall find. His Church will endure to the end of time but the numbers will be few.

Big Bang and Evolutionary theories have not even closely done that, virtually no testing of their hypothesis because they can't test it! Every time contradictory evidence arises they tweak their theory and it has become a mess just like the Greek theory of planet rotation. It was science gospel for hundreds of years until we learned different. Then it was pitched. It's no different today. Current science is handled like religion, not science. They have more faith in their theories than many Christians have faith in Jesus Christ! You are punished severely for questioning current "scientific" Dogma. Like global warming. "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come." John 16:13 When I got Born Again the FIRST thing the Blessed Spirit led me to was the Absolute Authority of the Holy Word of God through the truth of Genesis. I have a hard time believing that the Most High would show something that important to a schmuck like me and not to "theologians" and "pastors". I believe through experience that a lack of faith in Scripture is actually a lack of faith in Christ. "Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. " Romans 1:25 Genesis was that truth that was exchanged for a lie.

Why did the Church switch from a creation viewpoint to evolution? There’s an old sort-of joke (with a lot of truth) that when a man is made a bishop, the first thing they do (before he assumes the responsibilities of office) is to remove his spine. That’s ONE reason. Another reason is gnostic infiltration, which began with slow careful insertion of gnostics into the ranks of priests and bishops, which over time picked up speed and strength…leading to the tangled mess we have today. Evolution wasn’t originally based on science but philosophy and Gnosticism. Science attempting to prove it was added later. I was a teen at a Methodist HS when it was introduced to our class as an unprovable Theory. The very next month, that same teacher announced evolution THEORY was a fact so obviously true that we must accept it without question. Like many others, I finally concluded without a shred of evidence that perhaps evolution and creation could work together. I abruptly returned to my young earth creationist roots when I realized one day that the Genesis account of creation is the Bible’s thesis. If false, everything that follows would likely also be false. But if true, it lends support to the miraculous accounts that follow, especially the later birth, passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. It comes down to what you believe about God. Is the creation account too hard for God? Is ANYTHING too hard for Him? It’s really the most critical question. Difficult though it sounds, God’s first miraculous act is followed later by a much greater act of self-creation. Our God, a triune being so large and powerful the universe itself could not contain Him, contained Himself within a single cell inside a Woman (Mary), which He then combined with one of her eggs in order to become an infant growing within her and be born of her as the promised God-man, Jesus Christ. Only one as divinely powerful as God could create His own mother and then arrange to be born of her. This second incredible act of creation (through an impossible act of extreme miniaturization) was far greater than His initial act of creation. The more I look into the science of what He did, the more astounded I am by it. It’s why while others are marveling outwardly at what they see around them, I marvel inwardly at His second far greater act of creation and the even greater implications for us.

Darwin was agnostic? “Although I did not think much about the existence of a personal God until a considerably later period of my life.”-Darwin.....Hummmm Note the way in which he favorably compares the “general laws” of Newtonian astronomy with arbitrariness of special divine action: “For as well might it be said that, although the planets move in courses conformably to the law of gravity, yet we ought to attribute the course of each planet to the individual act of the will of the Creator. It is in every case more conformable with what we know of the government of this earth, that the Creator should have imposed only general laws. As long as no method was known by which races [biological types] could become exquisitely adapted to various ends, whilst the existence of species was thought to be proved by the sterility of their offspring, it was allowable to attribute each organism to an individual act of creation. But in the two former chapters it has (I think) been shown that the production, under existing conditions, of exquisitely adapted species, is at least possible.”

With the scientific information that Darwin had available to him could have thought he had a good idea. The record on this subject shows that what Darwin proposed has no scientifically tested experiments to support it. There however has been many different theories of evolution in an attempt to make the evidence fit the claim of how the evolutionary process took place. The scientific method doesn't work the way evolutionist try to use it.

BOTTOM LINE: Titus 1:9-14 9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it. 10 For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group. 11 They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach-and that for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.” 13 This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith Romans 16:17-18 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. 1 Corinthians 5:11-13 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. 12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you." 2 Timothy 4:2-4 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables 2 John 9-11 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. Galatians 1:8-10 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. 1 Timothy 4:1-7 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; 2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 2 Timothy 12-16 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

@Dwight Turner... The Sabbath is indeed Saturday, the seventh day of the week. It was a physical sign, for God’s physical people... However, under Christ (who is our SABBATH) God’s spiritual people (the church), worshipped everyday, but gathered on the FIRST day of the week (Sunday) to worship collectively-just as Acts 20:7 tells us. To call people back under the Old Testament Sabbath, as a requirement, is to place yourself under the WHOLE Law, ... and make yourself a slave to it-leading to certain spiritual death. Plot twist. Was it on " THORS -day? Odin is actually Nimrod, which is only a description, Nimrod in Hebrew means "rebel". He was also known it is argued as Gilgamesh. Now it is said that Nimrod married his mother. That would be Frigga. Now Nimrod , he gets cut up into 14 pieces and Semiramis can only find 13. So she erects, pun intended, a phallic symbol to replace it. There is a really big one in Rome that came from Egypt. Washington also. Then Tammuz comes along. Allegedly brought in an egg by his father the sun god on winter solstice. But he was a mighty hunter like his dad and killed by a pig. So mom/wife created a little pagan fertility rite to honour him. It begins on Ash Woden's (Odin) day, Wednesday, where they paint a "T" on the forehead in ash, and then they observe the "Forty day of weeping for Tammuz". This ends on Good Frigga day , Friday. Then an orgy where they dip eggs in the blood of the sacrificed 3-month-old children from last years orgy, post term abortion essentially. A Sun-day worship service, it is sun worship, which ends with the eating of the beast that killed him, an Easter ham. It is paganism. It is easy to spot. It is always the father, the son, and the mother. Isis, Horus, Seb. They just change the names and some of the rites. Hence, few are sacrificing babies on Easter. Sadly not none. The other is, really, I don't know why. The only thing I can come up with is don't know how to rightly divide God's word correctly. My St. Helen's erupted in 1980. You would think that if you do just a little studying, in one day that volcano made layers of earth .one day.!!!! Put in a scientist. Tell him to evaluate it. This is one big reason why for sure. The problem with Christian authorities is they throw out discoveries and evidences to conform to old hardliner beliefs and dogma. They like to lift up and cherry pick something like the Isaiah scroll for example in the Dead Sea Scroll finds. But never will you hear them mention other scrolls and writings that were found in Qumran. It's as if the Isaiah evidence was all that was ever found and that's that. The gate keepers also hate it when you learn, research and read Torah in Hebrew independently on your own and find what Genesis really lays out. I trust the old guard defenders of the faith as much as I do the evolutionists.

If we were to be embarrassed by the Biblical account of creation, miracles, etc. we would be embarrassed by the whole Bible. The whole point/intent/objective of the theory of evolution was to eliminate the "need" for God. It has proven to be an incredibly "successful" strategy. Not only has it decimated the Church, but it has inevitably lead to the near total devaluation of human life, that we are now witnessing.

This is an entertaining argument to watch from the sidelines... for a while, then it gets very old! Both Creationists to Evolutionists consciously choose to wear blinders and pigeonhole themselves, thus invalidating their stance, regardless of any viable facts they might happen to cite. Much like baking a cake... everything known comes in steps, has a formula/recipe, and is simply a part of something much bigger: All life, all inanimate objects, and all material goods... even our thought processes. Maybe the fact of evolution has no bearing on the concept of an Ultimate Supreme Being possessing the capability to conceive all that is, as well as the capability of making such so; things didn't just show up! If this is all part of a plan, then it is... who among us is arrogant enough to openly state they have the capability to grasp the will of such an entity and are in fact it's most cherished creation? given all that is creation? Obviously there was a lot of "stuff" in existence prior to humanity... so, we're either a grand experiment, a work in progress, or the result of random occurrences. Regardless, this isn't a repeat performance and there's no resetting the game... this is a one time opportunity, be a shame to waste it on delusional ideology created my humans, which is intended to control the populace and generate profit for a select few.

I must be one of the fools since I believe in the literal account of creation, as put forth in Genesis and various Biblical scriptures. I don't think that I am to the level of 'confounding the wise', but I have been a great fan of Science and science fiction for six decades. With the exception of the medical community, no other group of people, (scientists) have so often said "We used to think, but now we know!" What mainstream "scientists" believe is updated more often than Windows. Far too much of what "Science Says" is nothing but the opinions of some scientists. Science is supposed to be a process, a method of investigating and explaining observations about our reality. Conclusions need to be tested through experimentation. Those tests need to be repeatable before the conclusions can be offered as proof. Assertions, no matter how plausibly they are presented, are not proofs. Somehow "Science" has morphed into a being that "Tells Us" this and "Tells Us" that. And many people believe what "Science Says"... I'm not smart enough to get my head around everything that "Science" is always trying to tell me, especially when it is filtered through and interpreted by the media and our secular Departments of Education. I am very grateful for this inability. Dealing with the constant updates would be far too exhausting...

Augustine was not confused , he is 100 % right. In the beginning God dit created everything before day one. There are three things not created, formed ore made, and came into existence from the beginning. 1. God. 2. Spirit of God. 3. Waters and space. There are 3 things created out of waters and space : 1. Heaven into heavens and earth 2. Creatures of the sea to be braught fourth, named and witnessed. 3. The order and creation of tipes of man. When it was created , made, called, set, devided and declared by God, in commanding the Spirit of God to obey. Knowing that the Spirit of God is a combination of things, makes it all clear. He who has a ear , let him hear what the Spirit of God say unto the church through his angel. Genesis 1:1, 21, 27 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. God said, let there be - Commanded/His Word. And there was - Declared it's existence. Saw it was good - Inspected. God made - firmament , lights , image and likeness. God divided - to note the differance of what was devided. God called it - gave it an Identity. God set the lights - like the stars in the firmament for signs, days , years and seasons. And it was so - declaring the completion of each specific command. Let it bring forth - it was created from the beginning and needed to be braught forth and named. Blessed & sanctified it - Bare record in heaven and bare witness in earth, to be very good and according to His will. The evidence is overwhelming throughout scripture to who he gave the commands, to who all power was given to. Also the two images that shall have dominion over ....... except the beast is not part of to have dominion over , according to verse 26.

Be careful you don’t import a late-developed Roman Catholic meaning to terms like “Apostolic Succession” which the early church never professed.
