I have been doing the same thing. I am only up to Tokyo Drift so far. I save them for a rainy afternoon since no one else in my house is interested.

I’m doing the same, up to #7 at the moment. Did you notice the LFE level on 7 is really juiced up? 😄 I was scared for my neighbours a few times (and I run my subs flat for most casual viewing).

Funnily enough, I got the 1-9 box set for a bargain price. I’ve not watched them all yet. Just the latest 4. They look good on an OLED with all the highly saturated colours.

@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome You know you really ought to get Hobbs and Shaw 4K Blu-ray. It looks and sounds stunning. Just check out the reviews of the picture and sound. As a movie it’s entertaining. I live in London so I also like the chase scenes which start off in London, somehow instantly get to Glasgow for a while and then return to London too. It happens a lot in action movies. Being from Glasgow I’m always amazed to see familiar streets masquerading as London, New York, etc. It should sound phenomenal on your system.

I love part 1& 2 the most.

I did this through a week and it was grueling, props to you for doing it in a shorter amount of time. My 13.2 setup is what made this bearable.

I recommend ford vs ferrari if you want a great car film with good audio.

I think after furious 7 they intentionally made them bad and after each installment they drops the excitement graph, In fact they have made few of them really great like fast five, 6 & 7. anyways a great sum up on this franchise looking forward to see more of these for other franchises like hobbit, marvel cinematic, 007, mission impossible , john wick, transformers, harry potter

Have you watched the entire series of Battlestar Galactica 2004? 60hrs, I have watched them all 6 times. That is the best thing I have ever seen in my life.

I have not. The closest I’ve gotten to that is watching Breaking Bad all the way thru 3 times.

@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome Well you know how The Matrix could really happen, and we are heading in that direction with VR. well Battlestar Galactica is similar it's about Ai, and how we are heading in that direction right now. I just like the relevance to something that can really happen. Plus BSG always has a top cliff-hanger at the end, you just want to watch the next one. The first double episode is like 3hrs long, (They have since cut it in half like Kill Bill) but at the end you still want to watch the next one, because the cliff-hanger is enormous.

He isn't done, he didn' watch the spin off.

Watched the first one at the cinema and enjoyed it. It's effectively Point Brake. 😉 Second was Okay, missed the third and bailed after the fourth one. Having seen the trailers for later ones I'm glad I bailed!

6 is my all time favorite also did you watch hobbs and shaw?

I enjoy the movies. My favorites are 5 thru 8. I feel that's peak/prime Fast & Furious. I actually had to force myself to like the first movie for years. But now that I have 5 thru 8, I can say the first movie is garbage. Also, 2 Fast 2 Furious is special to me since it was the first one I saw in theaters. 1 I had to wait until VHS to finally watch it. But I would still rank 5 thru 8 above 2. I still like them all in some capacity, but I would say 1 and 9 are at the bottom of the list if I had to rank them best to worst. 1 just seems like some 100-minute prologue now, and 9 is a complete mess. And what's interesting is my issues with 9 aren't the action scenes. I'm old school. I know the difference between fiction and real world. So if someone jumps out of a thirty story building and survives, I just play along. My issues with 9 were a lot of other things. Mostly every other scene they are in a new location (city, country, etc.). I couldn't tell you where the finale takes place. Also, I wasn't having much fun with 9. The flashbacks to younger Dom hurt the movie as well. So I kind of had to do some re-capping when it got back to present time. 10 I would say I liked more than 1 and 9, but there was still a lot of issues. Mainly that it's a Part 1. I also find it funny that people say these movies are unrealistic but most of the action scenes are shot practically, so physics aren't thrown out entirely. In 7 when they jump out of the plane, they actually filmed that. The only time there is green screen during that plane jump sequence is when they show the actors actually in the cars. Other than that, they pretty much just launch the cars out the plane and let them fall/crash. Then when they get closer to the ground, they have stuntmen in the cars for when the cars actually make it to the ground and start driving on the ground. So everything isn't exactly green screen or CGI in that. Most of the plane jump is practical. Same for a lot of the other movies. My Blu-Ray of Furious 7 even has a making of thing where they show how they did the plane jump stuff. So I'm not making all this up. Oh and the runway in 6, it's not as long as you think. Justin Lin (the director) said that he broke down stuff to get the POV of everyone. So that took a lot of runtime. And the stuff outside and inside are all happening at the same time. So the whole finale with the plane is more like a matter of minutes for the characters while for us it's like a 20-25 minute sequence. But yeah. I enjoy the movies. They are an easier watch for me. I'm interested in the next movie. Also Hobbs & Shaw was forgotten. So there is actually 11 movies. Well, 12 once Fast & Furious 11 releases.

You did it! You made it through all ten. I hope you got a free sub sandwich and some sort of captain’s hat out of it. 😜

Interestingly 1 - 8 are in DTS:X. I’m not sure I could hear a difference between them and 9 and 10 which are in Atmos.

I think the elements you mentioned are what largely drove the success of the first half dozen films. But in the second half of the series they seem to have drifted away from that formula to some degree and the movies don’t feel the same.

@@GeorgeTheaterAtHome Yep, indeed. They move to action movies (which I've saw few mins for some of them), instead of street racing. They said after the 10th, that the next installment they would go back to source... lol. Brief, as bad as it always was.

i bet the overhead surrounds was rubbish with bad use of bad sound continuity i would rather buy cat food than waste it on those rubbish movies about rubbish motorcars
