Diamonds are actually much more common than gold in the earth's crust. Its value is kept artificially up through supply control and by creating a need through subtle advertisements. Remember "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" , "Diamonds are forever" and so on. :-)

Its true, I bought diamond for Rs 50k 5 yrs ago. I want to sell it for Rs 80k but I am not getting buyer even at Rs 60k. If I had bought gold instead of diamond I would've got 90-95% return. Diamonds are worst asset.

Diamond 💎 price is based on CCC which is cut , carat and clarity. However there is variation in diamond rating with different agency

One of hidden Reason behind this is, half life of carbon(dimond) .... A common person like us, don't know about half life... Half life, wo time period hai jisme kisi substance ki quantity half ho jati hai...halanki diamond ke case me ye kai thousands year tk ka bhi hota hai...pr kisko pta ki uska thousand year kb pura ho rha hai...thats also why diamond is not in demand

But another reason is that you can make diamond artificially in lab with same properties but you can't make gold.

Maybe In the lab with the right mix of compounds it's quite possible to make purest gold with zero impurities or imperfections.. But the day the world finds out.. CHAOS WILL RULE ! keeping gold precious is like keeping Merecedes Benz costly. World hates to bring down its idols! 🍷

Thats not the only reason, 1. Gold reserves are considered when you see country economy 2. Gold can be used at other places. Unlike diamond 3. Gold can be melted and changed as many times as you want, according to your requirement
