At first I thought it was similar to cigarettes, I began calling cigs as such when I was a smoker.

The one thing to keep in mind if you do go ahead on discussing Spice. Spice itself is not the drug. It is the base used for what is used under the same name as the drug. Spice such as that from Kessel is just as important in many medicines as it is a base for a narcotic, which is in part why spice smuggling/the spice trade is so difficult to stamp out.

Really like this kind of video as in a universe of futuristic technology, monks with powers, and droids. Star Wars going the distance to add in a humanistic albeit horrible aspect of human nature, is drugs and addictions in time of war and distress.

Sorry if this was a bit confusing to anyone who saw it, was like 3am so yeah. What I was saying though is Star Wars expanding on touchy subject like death sticks and other coping methods used for severe trauma in times of war/conflict, allows for a very realistic look on the society in general, as commonly the only sorta addiction you see someone struggle with in Star Wars is a reliance on the dark side, and while seeing the protags triumph over the temptation of the dark side is exciting and engaging, maybe I'm speaking for myself but I could never really relate to them, but some guy on the street struggling with a death stick, or spice addiction is because it's a very real thing to struggle with regardless of if it's indirect or direct struggles.

To buy death sticks in the Star Wars universe sounds a lot worse, or maybe perhaps the same thing if you were to buy any type of a drug in the real world, you would fall into an addiction which would be nearly impossible to break, and you would remain trapped in this addiction until it broke you Either by making you fall deeper into the addiction or until you would die from an overdose and I wonder if you are force sensitive with the effects hit even harder and if you amplified your connection to the very force itself, would the affects come even stronger

Few points, .. a.) people end up in mental wards cause they see & hear voices they can't get out of their head. Padded rooms were created because some people bash their heads against walls to get away from the voices. b.) magic mushrooms and other herbs are traditional used to awaken the brain/mind spiritual awareness. c.) WEG west end games d6 dice pool system Star Wars, the Force powers ? treated like Marvels comics Xmen mutant powers. Point being with gothic and Lovecraft horror, gain telepathy causes the hero or villain to slowly lose their minds to beings beyond their understanding. Or the walls are too thin in your apartment, and you go nuts cause you can't get any peace & quiet. Then you have Move Object to cheat in dice or slot gaming. Telepathy/empathy to cheat to cards or finish other peoples sentences. Now there is all the fun with Force Lightning, get hit by a taser/stun club or charge fence/door and rebound that energy all around yourself. Along with lights flickering on & off. Night brothers & sisters have some really good herbs, or the stuff of nightmares to challenge their own inner darkside.

I like idea that desthsticks would be made out of mining products

Since scientifically "narcotic" refers to opioid derivatives specifically, I'll assume you mean its alternative usage simply meaning "controlled substance". Which means you described them as a "dangerous and addictive controlled substance" which is EXACTLY what cigarettes are... so... yeah. Pedantic, but also, words mean something.

No wonder they are called death sticks.

One of the things I never see covered is the music in the Star wars universe. It's always that one stupid song. Did they have other genres? Metal, country ect. These are the real questions, what was normal life like?

And addiction is not fought by forcing people to stop cold.This will end up in 100% FAILURE. A proper replacement therapy whit a less harmful medication instead of the drug is the first step in gradual rehabilitation.
