Why Deadlifts and Kettlebell Swings are Good For Back Pain Recovery

Deadlifts and Kettlebell swings are great for teaching the core to hold the spine stable which is it's primary role. With out this skill, re-injury is inevitable.

    So many people have told me to avoid deadlifts w a bulging disc!

    That's generally a good idea if the bulge came from dead lifting improperly. And don't mistake this for me saying HEAVY deadlifts are a good idea if you have a bulge. However, using a deadlift style exercise to get better at the SKILL of loading the hips while keeping a more neutral pelvis and spine can be very beneficial is teaching someone how to move with spine sparing movement .
