Why Constellations Change

What makes something a summer constellation? Ever wondered why different times of year and places on Earth reveal different constellations? Dive into the celestial mechanics with us as we explore how Earth's rotation, its orbit around the Sun, and its axial tilt combine to create unique views of the night sky and a dynamic stargazing experience! Let me be your guide on a cosmic journey to unravel the details of our ever-changing night skies.

Nice! You're in pretty rare company down there, with only about 0.05% of the world's population!

Loved this video. It's so hard to visualise the way multiple objects move around in 3d space in our heads, your graphics and props really helped!

Woohoo 🙌 You should see how many random scraps of papers I had on my desk with circles and angles scribbled all over them. Not an intuitive thing, at least not for me!!

Just by seeing the title of this video, I thought this video was about the shapes of the constellations changing over time. Still a good video though. Because the stars are moving, the shapes of the constellations will gradually change over hundreds of thousands of years. So, for example, Orion will someday lose his 'belt'. Indeed, all of the constellations we know today will be unrecognisable in the distant future.

That's true!! Muuuch longer timescales than what I was considering here, but interesting to think about!

If this were a classroom I'd be asking for more information on the First point of Aries/Libra please, that sounds like it's too interesting for just a 25 second blurb!

potential sequels: an observer on the ISS, or a lunar colony (I guess they're considering a polar site for the colony, which would simplify things), or a Martian.

I want the Moon to be terraformed. Then all of the Moon could be easily colonised.

All I see is a flat display proving flat earth 😅 flat is a round disk folks 🎉 it appears live under a dome, the rainbow is quite convincing evidence of this. If the north pole is in the middle of the flat earth, exercise the same logic. The sun rotates arond the edge of the disk, why do we see the sun and moon all the time these days? No body knows 😂

I really want to say you must be struggling to calm down and express your thoughts coherently because I get the impression you're a flat earth person. Like maybe you're just joking and didn't write it out well due to english not being your first language. I know flat earthers exist, but I see it as a fad for a small, small minority who need more excitement in their life and/or are easily manipulated. And they only exist online so much so that meeting one in life would be like seeing a unicorn. However, I thought this fad was dying along with other fringe ideas from loud minorities online. So my natural reaction to your post is that this person must be drunk or high or can't speak English very well. And if it's the latter it would probably be wise to indicate that in your comments. Because nothing you wrote made any sense Jennifer Lewis. I can't tell if it's a joke or if there's something wrong with you. I see that you're using laughing emojis at something but it's confusing as to what that something is.
