I’ve been saying for a while, people always say Chelsea’s £1B spend is proof that you can’t buy success, but they don’t see exactly what Chelsea have bought for all that money. They have bought themselves the ability to be the worst run club in the Premier League and still finish top half of the table. It has eliminated risk for the club despite being absolutely clueless as to how to build a stable project. If Palace, Brentford, Brighton, Wolves, etc had made as many shocking decisions as Chelsea had over the last 2 years they would be relegated. It’s as simple as that.

Chelsea has always been unique in this sense, this was what made Chelsea successful earlier under Abramovich. They were ruthless and never hesitated to sack a manager, and under Abramovitch, it almost always worked. I'm not sure if Boehly is trying to replicate that or if they are simply clueless in what they are doing and lacking patience. What's also troublesome with this approach is that no manager will dare to join Chelsea, because they know that unless they deliver perfection in a short time, they are done. There's no time to build something with patience, it's either instant success or your out the door. Unless it's a real OG manager like Ancelotti or Guardiola, who would take the Chelsea job? I think many managers want to join Chelsea, but they will feel the stress immidiately which can also affect how they manage the team.

Chelsea are simply going back to what they were before they were financially doped. Small revenue = small spending capacity = small performance = small club (relative to what the doping years gave the fans).

Ive thought all season that Poch is bang average, but he was doing extremely well in the end and I was open to changing my mind. If we are not getting a world class man in at this point, it's just a repetition of previous mistakes.

I agree with Rory until he brought Kompany up. Kompany had championship level players in the Premier League and VAR officials basically put the nail in the coffin.

At least when the Glazers came in, there was Sir Alex to keep things going, but there is no positives for Chelsea here, suddenly worse run than United is crazy

As an Ipswich fan I’m not surprised established prem teams are looking at McKenna, but I am surprised about the real big boys. Brighton seems the logical step, go there take them to the next level then I’d expect him at United. I am clinging on to the faint hope he decides to stay, as he has done a remarkable job.
