its a desire to personify animals, because we actually have no idea at all what they are thinking or why they do anything. even the claim that "they have scent glands and are marking their territory" is highly dubious, as cats would have no understanding of anything like that, due to their tiny brains and limited thought capabilities. at best, it just feels good so they do it.

I've recently been adopted by a stray cat. I've been taking care of him for a couple weeks; putting out food and water. Especially over the last week, he's become very affectionate. Even letting me pick him up! Today I fixed up a box for him to sleep in on the porch. My house is being remodeled, so he can't come inside. I'm in a small camper. I don't think he's ready to be inside yet anyway. But he has a good place to sleep out of the weather, off the ground, on some old shirts. Not fancy, but better than the wet ground. He comes and goes as he pleases. I keep thinking of John Wayne's line in True Grit... _"No one owns him._ (the cat; General Sterling Price.) _He just rooms with me."_ 😁

Often after my cat does the extended stretch, she will then walk close to me and then sit in a perfect attention-type position. She will not move --- just sit at attention ---- green eyes locked to mine. I completely melt inside because I know she is reflecting respect toward me. My ongoing thoughts are: 'Do you want the world? Just tell me what you want; I will get it😊😊' Pets and Children are the closest representations of Divinity.

Cats can pick up vibrations through their front paws enabling them to locate and position potential prey. This is why lions sit half down with their front paws straight out.

That would be my cat rolling in the dirt! I've got a really long haired Norwegian Forest Cat that weighs in at about 20 lb! We can't let him outside because rolling in the dirt is the first thing he does, takes hours to clean that fur! God bless all kitties and those who love them!!

Our last cat was a black cat and whenever I went outside and he was in the yard too, he would walk over to me, then immediately find a patch of dirt and roll in it. I would go over to him and dust him off. Yep, you know what's coming... He immediately went back into the dirt and 'basted' himself with dust!

As I give this more thought it is though they are saying I bow before my master who I love. I will do each day, my way here as they feel, but someday I will do the same before my master.
