@@ryanbasel9986 some things I may not necessarily understand about the Catholic Church but how could anybody think the Catholic church is the devil's church that's ridiculous. The worst case I might say is that the Catholic church is sometimes stuck too much in tradition but at the same time I acknowledge that liturgical churches have one thing that many of us Protestant churches can learn from and that is we push so much that God is our friend that it's easier to forget that God is our Lord and King and we need to show reverence towards God and the liturgical churches are good about showing reverence. Therefore I want to understand even those areas that I may not agree with I still want to understand.

You know I've been watching these videos about the Catholic church and the one thing that boggles my mind is people like me do not necessarily think the Catholic church is bad but some of these people in these videos representing the Catholic Church I swear they do have the attitude that their churche is the only good church whereas I would say Catholics,Protestants, orthodox we're all the Church and it's just different ways of expressing the Christian faith as long as you got the true core really it should just be a matter of taste because we should work together because we all have things to teach each other. Now yes we are all humans and we may push a little heavier on one area than another. such as Pentecostals might push really heavy on the power of the holy Spirit which we all should not only acknowledge but be cooperating with the holy Spirit but they might not necessarily put as much emphasis on reverence even though any Pentecostal here Will acknowledge that we need to show reverence to God. I'm a contemporary Christian and I confess that we may do a lot more emphasis on personal evangelism but again we're not necessarily going to put as much emphasis on reverence as Catholics do. I could be wrong here but I would imagine they definitely put a lot of emphasis on reverence to God but I would imagine many Catholic churches are likely a lot lighter evangelism. What I'm referring to is yes you believe in evangelism and you do have a lot of programs run by the church and done by the church but how much emphasis is there on one-on-one evangelism between a Catholic and a friend and/or family member who doesn't already know the Lord now I could be wrong excuse me if I'm wrong but we all have areas that we don't put as much emphasis on even though we agree that it is important and other areas we put a lot of emphasis on.

@@jonsumner1382 catholic here! And I must thank you for your understanding. All I can say is I wish the best for my protestant brothers and sisters. I've been to many protestant churches and I see a lot of beauty and charismatic energy in them. I'm also in a band at the moment and all my members are protestant but we all love each other like family. We can truly unite and we can definitely trust in God for greater plans. The mass is absolutely beautiful and as a Catholic I welcome you to join a mass one day (not forcing you). I strongly believe that love, compassion and the trust in God can perhaps help us connect with each other. I wish the best for you and to all Christians.

As a protestant I might not be invited to share in the holy communion at a mass in a Catholic church, but as brothers we will share at the same table when we eat together at the supper of the lamb in the coming kingdom. I long for that moment of unity and oneness expressed, a reality that already exists in the body of Christ. We are one.

The Eucharist is the central theme of the Gospel and the source and summit of the Christian faith and without it we have no life in us as Jesus said in John 6:53. “Unless you eat my Flesh and drink my Blood you have no life in you.” It is both and not either or.

Become ONE now, ask Jesus for forgiveness , forgive every one holding no grudges and ask Jesus to reveal himself to you and ask for his Holy Spirit to dwell in you. Its that easy.

Forty years ago I was a Protestant "pastor". Twenty years ago, after much struggle, I became Catholic. Today, I'm in love with His Church. He's here, especially at Mass. So I'll stay here.

@Mupp Bert Yes, I'm a born again and Bible-believing Christian. I entered the Catholic Church on Easter of 2000, age 55. I had to struggle with some things, especially in the beginning. But, with time, I've come to rejoice over my choice. I now love and trust His Church, founded on Peter (Matt. 16). Yes, there are human shortcomings. But that's true EVERYWHERE we look.

Interesting but you have to remember one thing the new advent the Novus ordo is not Catholic it was formulated by Protestants ministers in mid 60s to replace the Roman Catholic Church and the Latin mass the ones that you're going to the Novus ordo is not Catholic it is Protestant how ironic is that

@@MikeSonowski-pg8bs we DO NOT WORSHIP MARY, we honor as the Queen of Heaven and Mother of Christ, Revelation 12 speaks about Mary as the Queen of Heaven. Rev 12 is not referring to Mary nor is she queen of heaven , that is just a made up belief not found in scripture. At the Wedding of Cana, the wine ran out and Mary asked Jesus if He could transform the water to wine. You can not find anywhere in scripture that Mary asked Jesus to make new wine. read that verse again with your eyes open. Jesus did not want to perform any miracles yet, but because His respect for Mary is so high, He obeys her and performs the miracle. Well that sounds good but you will not find any reference in all of scripture where Jesus defers to His mother for anything. That’s why we ask Mary to pray for us, like u would ask ur family or friends to pray for you. We are to ask prayers of the living not the dead . Mary is dead and waiting for the resurrection just like all the saints in the new testament. Strange how you ask Mary to pray for you when Jesus and the apostles prayed to God and all the believers in the early church prayed to God . Heb 4:15-16 excludes Mary. John 14:6 also tells you that the Fatima apparition is false. Because Jesus respects Mary a lot, Of course Jesus respects His own mother but look at what He says to someone pointing at Mary His mother ; Luke 11: 27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said, “Blessed is the womb that bore You, and blessed are the breasts that nursed You!” 28 But He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”… What the entire new testament is about is Jesus not His mother. The Catholic church points to Mary far too much when it is Jesus the catholic church should be pointing to. Luke 1:28. Half the Hail Mary and the other half is manmade nonsense.

I am Baptised in the Orthodox Church and as such im in the uniquelly priviledged position to be able to receive communion in all 3 major churches with apostolic succession (Orthodox , Catholic and Anglican) I go to Church every sunday but it always varies as to which Church Taking part in holy communion with all different kinds of people, but all devoted to god is something im immensly grateful for having access to

Technically, you are not. Orthodox Christianity does not permit its faithful to receive Holy Communion in non-Orthodox communities, whether they be Roman Catholic, Protestant, or whatever. Hence, while Roman Catholicism may extend Eucharistic hospitality to Orthodox Christians, it does not mean that Orthodox Christians are permitted to accept such hospitality. We literally do not believe in authority of the Pope and the great schisms of the past and conflict between churches of Rome and Constantinople also make our two churches diunified. To receive the Eucharist in a community to which one does not belong is improper; the Eucharist is the result of unity, not the means by which unity is achieved.

I think for anglican, we can't receive it since it doesn't have any root from 12 apostles like Catholic and orthodox churches. We Catholic aren't permitted to receive communion from alngican churches since its protestant church

I am converting to Catholicism, and my first Mass I attended, at the time of the Eucharist, I felt so ashamed walking up with my arms crossed. I wanted to partake in the presence of Christ, but I did not want to risk the unworthy taking of the Eucharist.

You need to reread those verses about being in the right frame of mind when taking the Lord's supper as you have accepted teaching that is wrong. The Last Supper was a Passover/Seder meal. The Jews drink 4 cups of wine that is symbolic of the 4 “I will” promises of God in Exodus 6:6. Jesus skipped 1 cup of wine, the Cup of Redemption, identifying with that Cup & then repeated the words of Moses saying “This is the cup of the New Covenant in My blood...” thereby fulfilling the Old Covenant. So did the apostles that night with Jesus actually drink His blood? No...it was symbolic just as the 4 cups of wine are symbolic every Passover for the Jews to this day. Therefore the entire meal which fulfilled the Old Covenant in His body & blood is symbolic. We don’t actually eat His body. I have a sneaky suspicion that you do not get 4 cups of wine either in the Eucharist. When Jesus died on the cross for all of your sins He died once. The Eucharist is a bloodless re-sacrifice for your sins and that is wrong.

Casey, my small boy,(see I’m 84, and hearing you twice-thrice a day allows me a small measure of latitude). I have spiritually adopted you, truly. I sooo admire you and your way, sorry, ways, of living your ministry, that I want to congratulate you on the beautiful, concise, simple graphics you utilise in your videos. I happen to be a graphic designer myself, so do tell the person creating such valuable symbolistic images, that his/her work is much admired. I particularly love the main symbol, in mono colour, of the dancing monk cloaked in full habit !!! May your days be inspired always.

My grandmother is Catholic and my grandfather is Episcopal. Every day they go to daily mass together and my grandfather just asks for a blessing instead of communion. Still a wonderful way for them to bond united in Christ

There is no scriptural reason that a believer can not take communion. There is no scriptural reason , so that means that the Catholic church rules are wrong.

Catholics and Protestants literally interpret the scripture around the Eucharist differently, Catholics taking the meaning more literally vs the Protestant more symbolic interpretation. If we are not in union with our beliefs surrounding the Eucharist, then should Protestants really receive the Catholic Eucharist knowing they believe it to be something entirely different? Did you even watch the video or did you just come to start a disagreement?

Believers should be able to take the Lord's supper as the scriptures do not preclude one believer over another believer. Believers in the Lord are remembering the Lord's sacrifice for all the sins we have done and we are celebrating the Lord's resurrection that gives us new life in Him. We do not re-sacrifice Jesus on a bloodless alter as Jesus died once and for all. So not entirely different just more authentic to what the scripture says and not a man made church called catholic dictates. Do you think Jesus is going to condemn those of us who remember Him according to the scriptures?

I’m gonna start my conversion to Catholicism. I went to my first mass last Sunday and it was amazing! Hopefully I’ll get baptized soon, go to confession, and I will always strive to live my life as Christ would live his. I obviously never will but to the best of my abilities

Why don't you get saved first? You come to Jesus and ask for forgiveness from your sins and repent of them. That is conversion. It has nothing to do with Mass, baptism, or the Eucharist.

All any person needs to do is make Jesus their Lord and Savior. No baptism, no learning the teachings of the church, no communion, no priest. None of those things can save you.

you live in GA? So do I! I was supposed to have been confirmed in the Catholic Church last Easter but because of the coronavirus my Confirmation has been postponed indefinitely but Lord willing I will recieve the Sacraments of Confirmation and the Eucharist soon

Thank you for your clear explanation. As a Protestant regularly working in Roman Catholic services as a choral conductor, I don’t find it awkward not receiving the communion. I do find it pleasant to receive a blessing instead.

I’m respectful of your video and I also believe that the Catholic Church has made communion too complicated. He simply said, “Do this in remembrance of me.” This is one of the primary reason why I’m not catholic. I don’t like the separation and dividing of people. Steve Johnson But who is the one divided or separated but he/she who doesn’t believe in Christ ‘s full truth; that He founded a Church on the Authority of the Apostles and their successors, that He gave to Kefa the Keys of Heaven to bind and lose. John 6 53 So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. Eucharist is biblical and our church fathers do it too back from the apostolic age. It is one beautiful gift that Christ has given us. I myself would pretend to celebrate mass when the priest is praying Eucharistic prayer. I just think it's too beautiful, meaningful and the Presence of Christ is real. I love it being sung but not many priests can do that. You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the Body + and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ. ................. (some prayers, then) Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.

Steve Johnson, The truth divides. Jesus told Jews around him you must eat my flesh.They said, how can this man give us his body to eat.They murmured amongst themselves and walked away. Jesus said, does this scandalize you. Jesus said, I know it's a hard teaching but this will divide the true disciples from the false disciples. If you told a friend not to have an abortion but you told her it is murder more than likely she would get mad upset call you names yet you know it's the truth. Truth divides.

I can’t begin to imagine how proud your parents must be of you.

A Zoarastrian couple, friend of my family insisted on receiving HolyCommunion to feel they have participated fully in the banquet of our Lord. The did this every year, only once a year on the feast of Our Mother of the Forsaken in Vadodara,Gujarat,India, This feast is celebrated on the 26thJanuary every year. My parents were disturbed and sought help from the Chaplain of the shrine. They were informed as long as they take it with total reverence and belief it is alright. On this day the 26thJanuary people gather from all around India of all religions who have immense faith in Our Mother of the Foresaken. It is virtually impossible to know who is Catholic and who is not. The Priests do announce that only Catholics should receive Holy Communion, yet a few like this Zoarastrian couple donot follow/listen to instructions.

All are welcome to the table. Christ did not push anyone who came to Him and neither should we. But you can take this opportunity to make the Lord known to them. Their insistence on receiving the Holy Eucharist may signify their faith and readiness to be fully united with the Lord and His church.

I was watching someone on EWTN , explaining that 'Do this in memory of me", means to "remember my whole life when you receive me(Jesus)"

Facinating video, especially as a Protestant who was essentially booted out of a Catholic church when it was time for communion. It felt weird, because at the time I was fairly new to the Christian journey (and erm.. life) and unaware of some of the... shall we say... complex history of the Church in general. It was especially wierd because I was only there as part of a service to promote unity between the local Methodists, Catholics and Anglicans who had come together to run an outreach holiday club for the area. This wasn't in the USA either, but middle-of-nowhere UK. One day, I hope all denominations will be able to take bread and wine together. I pray it happens before Jesus gets back. Anyways, great video. My your ordination go without a hitch and I look forward to hearing more from you in the future!

the Protestant believes God is Spirit and must be worshipped in spirit. Most Protestants believe the Catholic re-sacrifices Christ in their belief in the Eucharist. Whereas the Protestant believes the True Presence of Christ is spiritual.

Thank you Fr Casey for another video. My late husband was Church of England, but wanted our children to be Catholic because I am Catholic. When he died my priest conducted the service. I go up for a blessing if I go to a Church of England service, even though they would allow me to receive their holy Communion. We have not reached that level of unity yet.

True sweet story here: My granddaughter had a Jewish friend whom she met when their moms (one being my daughter, of course) all met at a small park close to our houses. The girls were each about 18 months old. They became good buddies, & still are in their 20ies. Anyway, one day my granddaughter stayed overnight at her friend’s house. They were about 5 years old then. I told my granddaughter when I left her off the night before, that I will pick her up for Mass the next morning.(we were Catholic). Sunday morning I went to pick up my granddaughter, & her friend said that she wanted to go to church, also. Her parents thought it would be a good idea for their daughter to see & learn about other religions. During Communion/Eucharist, I told the girls to wait until I go up for the Host. When I came back to the pew, our little Jewish friend, looked up at me with sad, startled, eyes, & asked me if I WAS ACTUALLY EATING FLESH & DRINKING BLOOD! I put my arms around her, hugged both girls, & told them that it was our belief, we believe in our hearts & souls that this is Jesus. I explained later the Host looks like a tiny flattened Matzo & the wine looks like grape juice, but our belief is that it is the body & blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I told our young Jewish friend, that Jesus was born J a divine Jew. She was both surprised & delighted. I then took the happy God loving little girls out for lunch. Peace be with you! ✝️ Shalom! ✡️

I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean by not answering the question. I thought I made it pretty clear from the first segment: in order to receive, one has to be in union with God and others. The reason that Protestants can't receive our communion is because we are not in union with one another.

I get that part, however while you spoke about the reasons, you didn't address those when taking about Anglican & Lutherans. Anglicans (especially here in Africa) are in many ways very much like Roman Catholics and believe in the Eucharist in the same manner as you do, so why exactly are we not in union with one another?@@BreakingInTheHabit

@@clearjr1 because Orthodox and Catholics share apostolic succession, the same sacraments with valid ordinations. Orthodoxy recognizes the Bishop of Rome as the Primus inter paris i the pentarchy

But Anglicans are not under a patriarchy. They split off rom Rome and had the royal family as head of church. Theyre under catholicism not orthodoxy. There are eastern Catholics whom we share communion.

Related to the video, our pastor here in Katy, TX usually before Communion, specially when we have celebrations where we know there is a lot of visitors, he always ask those whom are not Catholics or that doesn't practice regularly to come for a blessing and get their affairs in order so they can be part of the celebration in full as soon as possible. Maybe it's not a matter of denying but rather an opportunity to invite others to practice our faith

I have just realised that for 37 years I thought this ritual was called 'The Uterus' (which I have always thought was odd), I have only just (through this video) come to realise that it is called 'The Eucharist'... every day is a school day!

I love my Catholic Faith. I need my Catholic Faith ever single day. I do not participate in the Eucharist b/c my husband is not Catholic. He grew up in the Methodist Church. His dad is a retired preacher. I decided to become Catholic when I was four years old. My mom grew up in a different church call / name Santa / Saint Doctrine in Honduras 🇭🇳. I had to convince my mom to get me baptized Catholic. Thanks be to God that she accepted it and I was baptized four days before my fifth birthday. Glory to God forever and ever 🙏 🙏♥️♥️

I don't understand why if you are Catholic attending mass,you would not receive Communion. Seeing you receive and how it impresses you , might get your husband intrigued and interested. I could never miss receiving Jesus. My husband is not even Christian, having grown up in a muslim country, but attends mass and likes it. I hope one day , he will understand enough and desire to become baptized into the Catholic church.

Here is some scripture for you. (1Co 11:26) For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. (1Co 11:27) Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. (1Co 11:28) But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. (1Co 11:29) For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. Sinners should not eat of the bread, it is for the righteous in Christ.

Seems odd that Catholics can marry non believers with the blessing of the church but yet Protestants can’t take communion. The Bible teaches not to be unequally yoked so the only situation where this should occur is if the couples married before either was a Christian. Also Protestants don’t approach the table in a cavalier manner as the passages about taking communion in an unworthy manner are often recited at the Eucharist.

123.. : It's not odd at all. Even a non-Catholic married to a Catholic may not receive Holy Communion. If a couple were married before either of them became Christian/Catholic then they would not have married in the Catholic Church anyhow, so that is beside the point.

wow what a wonderful speech, very nice to hear and happy for a young frair to have such influential words.

I am a Protestant Pastor. I have been served communion, by Roman Catholics Priests many times. These Roman Catholic Priests knew me, knew I am NOT Roman Catholic, yet had no problem serving me communion.

You are a wonderful person and I really admire you and wish you all the best . The Church needs people like you.

As an evangelical minister who has been to mass more than a few times, I have never been offended by the fact that Catholic communion was not open to me - even though our communion admits all baptized Christians and even sincere seekers. We too believe that we encounter Christ in a powerful way and the exact way is not known to us. That said, I would like direction as to how a respectful protestant Christian participate in the Mass? I have had Catholic lay people tell me that I should enter the line as if receiving Communion, but then cross their arms and then receive a blessing instead. I have not done so as I wished to be as respectful as possible.

As a Protestant looking to convert to Catholicism, going up to be blessed by the priest is 100% respectful and it's a great way to at least partially participate in that part of the Mass. Getting in line to be blessed is open to both Catholics who are not able to receive the Eucharist (maybe if they have unconfessed mortal sin on their soul) and non Catholics. I recommend doing it next time you go to Mass!

your friend is right, u can ask for blessing by doing that. catholic do that too, when they are not in the state of grace, they cannot take communion too

@@conikutch If you are not a believer then you should not take communion but as a believer the scriptures are clear as to what is required and confession of sins before breaking of bread is just not found in the scriptures but is found in the catholic church that forbids believers who are not members of the catholic church organization from celebrating the Lord's supper.

If you are repentant of all grave sins, you truly believe that Jesus is physically present in the Eucharist in some way, and pray and feel Jesus is welcoming you to receive, then just go up and receive. You are already a member of the Catholic Church, even if you arent quite yet so perfectly. At least, this is my advice.

I think it lies in the belief in the Real Presence of Christ, body and blood, soul and divinity. If one does not believe in the real presence which the Church believes and presents it as such, then why would one receive it. then it would be saying, i am receiving it in the way I want to receive it and not in the way Christ intended. So that would be focused on what one wants to do , which would not be in the proper spirit to receive Jesus.

I am an ELCA Lutheran, our rule for communion is (Not word for word) any baptized Christian that beleive in Jesus Christ is welcome to join in the meal. I heard your explanation on why who is welcome and who is not, the LCMS in our town goes a step further and will not offer communion to non members of their church. I was 32 years old when I was baptized on May 2, 2004. I felt immensely blessed to have celebrated my 15 year baptismal anniversary earlier this month. I only bring this up because I truly was a wretch before I believed in Jesus Christ. I thought Christians were weak minded fools. I used our Fathers name as a punchline or in vain daily if not hourly. When my heart started to soften, I was full of questions. As I inched toward believing I was cautious, like I was going to get caught in a trap. It was like i was waiting for one little thing to confirm what I had suspected all along, that church was full of Bible thumping, holier than thou, stuck up, finger wagging fools just waiting to tell me why I wasn't good enough and would have my own private rocket to shoot me straight to he'll (which at the time, I really didn't know what he'll was, outside off a fire pit). So my fiancee and my daughter and I started in the attending services. As we walked in the first time, I was relieved and a bit stunned that the church did not collapse on me. We live in a town of around 7 to 8 thousand people. So we knew a lot of people at church, mostly acquaintances, but there were a lot of smiles and hand shake and hugs. I found that I really enjoyed going. Much of what was being said, I did not understand, how it worked. At the time, we had communion twice a month (it is now every Sunday and most special services during the week), although I wasn't able to partake in the bread and wine I always went forward for a blessing. To wrap it up, I am beyond blessed that Jesus continued to pursue me even though I said no and ran away for so long. I also feel very blessed that "one" thing didn't happen to drive me away. I often wonder, for those folks who may be wanting to attend a service but feel like I did or maybe they are nervous. It's fair to say they don't know why this part of the service is excluding them. If we were having a meal in our fellowship hall after the service, they would be welcome to come eat as much as they wanted. It is very scary to go to church thst first-time ever or first time in years because you fell away and now you are walking in to sit before God. God that created everything. God that flooded the world. God that stepped down from Heaven and was born a baby, grew an taught in the temple, started a ministry and in a few short years was nailed to a cross. He paid for my sins that day. He paid for your sins that day. He paid for the sins of all that day, for those who came before, for every life that has been a part of time, for those who believe and for those that use His name in vain or as a punchline, for those that don't believe and never will. When you are brand new, trying to know God and all that happened and the meal is offered for everyone... except you. On the night in which He was betrayed, Jesus took bread, raised it up, blessed it, broke it and gave it to His disciples saying "Take and eat. This is my body given for you, do this for the remembrance of me." In the same way He raised the cup blessed it and gave to all to drink saying "Take and drink, this cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sins. Do this for the remembrance of me. There were no if, ands or buts... it was His blood shed for all people. As that new person that is not included could be a person that leaves and never steps foot in church ever again. Is it worth it? This is way longer than it need to be, but I believe it is something that we should take a look at and see if it is the best way to go about it. God bless you and enjoy this new era of your life.

I am a protestant who has been attending mass at a Catholic church for about a year because I like the reverence of Catholic worship. No one there knows me and I know that could slip down and take communion and no one but God and I would be aware. I have faithfully respected Catholic teaching however out of respect and will continue to do so. I would like to respectfully ask, though. If Christ could serve Judas Iscariot, whom he had just declared a traitor shouldn't that allow anyone to receive the elements, even in bad faith? I understand what you are saying about unity, but Judas was clearly not unified with the other apostles. Was that first meal less unifying for the other eleven? If you do not have time to answer this I understand and please know that I have learned a great deal from your videos and thank God for your patience, compassion, and devotion.

This has always been the one part of Catholic theology that I haven’t been able to accept. Years ago, I was at a funeral for a gentleman whose mother was pointedly excluded from the service. It was shocking to see this woman coming to church on the worst day of her life being told there was no place for her at the Lord’s table. That moment made it abundantly clear to me that I never will be able to accept an invitation to the Catholic church. Jesus allowed Judas to sit at the table and partake despite knowing exactly what was in his heart and mind. The table is not the church’s table. It is not Rome’s table. It is God’s table, and all who wish to approach should know they are welcome. My understanding of the sacrament has matured as I have. I am so glad that my church never once told me “There is no place for you at the table of the Lord.” I thank God for the good gift of my Catholic friends and the many wonderful clergy within that church. But I simply can’t accept that Jesus will not joyfully embrace all who come to Him in earnest. God bless you all.

I went to my first Mass a few weeks ago. I sat in the back and enjoyed how peaceful it was and enjoyed praying. When it came time for Communion everyone got up to get in line except me. I knew I could not receive so I stayed put. I felt awkward being the only one who didn’t line up so I slipped out the doors. I know now to cross my arms and so I’m hoping I’ll feel less awkward next time :-/

As a Catholic who hasn't confessed my sins to the priest in a few months, I don't feel worthy to partake until I am cleansed of the dirt by confession. Please don't feel awkward. No one looks down on you because you are not taking communion. On the contrary, you are respecting the most sacred sacrament in the Catholic church when you don't take communion not believing it IS the body of Christ.

Prayers for you on your ordination!

One time I visited a small Christian Church, non denominational, I had an overwhelming Spiritual Experience and communion (protestant version) and I felt God's power flow thru my body to the point that I was shaking and trembling like Apostle Paul trembled on Damascus road!! I felt so light and floaty and free and an inner joy and a surrender!! I remember each step I took towards the communion table, the more I felt God's presence! This anointing and power from God was so strong that I now understand why some Christian's get slain in The Spirit and fall down!! This kind of power that I experienced I believe is strong enough to cure illness or heal people!! I love The Catholic faith but this was my Experience that I had visiting a small Christian Church!! God's spirit is at all Churches!!

God can touch your heart anywhere. But you received bread and not communion, the true body of Christ. And you should not have done that at all, unless you were in communion with that small church. And if you are then you have left the Catholic Church for an alternative man made church.

@@bridgefin Once I had that Spiritual Experience, It taught me that God loves His worshippers even if they are protestant or Catholic, Jesus promised where 2 or 3 gather in His Name, He promised to be there!!

If you ARE a Catholic, in a Protestant church, and going forward to receive their "communion ", there is a certainty that the experience you had was NOT from the Holy Spirit! ! You put yourself in a very dangerous position, opening the way for demonic influence, and idolatry. Be very careful. I pray for you.

Catholics hounour The Blood and Flesh and Sacrafice of Jesus in communion just like Protestants do!! I'm not Catholic I'm a Christian but I used to look down on Catholics and Pentecostals etc I use to argue with them and debate but God touched my Heart and let me know that I was wrong, because Jesus said wherever 2 or 3 gather in His Name, He said he is there in their midst, and He keeps His word!!! God doesn't approve of denominations!! Denominations are from men, not God even Apostle Paul warned against denominations (divisions)!! As long as they are remembering The Blood and Body Of Yeshua and His Sacrifice, it's acceptable to God because The Bible says so!! There are too many denominations: Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, Orthodox, protestant ect.... God may not agree with some of the things these organizations do but nonetheless, Jesus promised to be there, wherever 2 or 3 gather in His Name!!

This is unbelievable that one king /Henry VIII/ can make disaster because of his prick. Forgive me this word but this is true. He said no to the pope and married Anne Boleyn for a while and then divorced. The unity with Anglican Church is possible when the queen resign to be a Head of the Anglican Church and reinstate the catholic faith. Are you praying for your queen too? Greetings from Poland.

@@tomaszdziamaek1839 With respect, I think you misunderstand the role of the Queen in the church. She is not the head of the church, she is the Supreme Governor of the Church of England (only one of the Anglican churches, not all of them). She has no role in promulgating doctrine and is merely fulfilling her coronation oath to protect the Church. Of course I pray for my sovereign. As far as I'm aware, the role of the Monarchy is not an issue on the road to unity. Every blessing to you my Polish brother.

I've heard it exists something like this. Do I think correct that High Church has more catholic doctrine and Low Church more protestant?

​@@tomaszdziamaek1839 My pleasure. Doctrine is formally moderated by the Bishops in convocation, in some ways like the Roman Catholic Church. Governance is done in consultation with priests/deacons and laity too. With regard for low and high Church, generally that is correct, but not always. High and Low is about style of worship more than doctrine, although usually a formal high Church with full vestments, incense etc will be more Catholic in belief, you can equally have a Catholic believing Church with low, informal worship. It is... complicated! Most of us are between the two extremes. There are limits to our differences though and we all trace our belief through the Anglican Prayer book (actually a Missal) and the first seven Ecumenical Councils.

Dear Brother Casey, I realize that this video was released in May and it is now August, but you mentioned that you are coming to Georgia. Are you able to tell us where in Georgia you are and for how long? I live in Acworth, about 30 miles NW of Atlanta, and I am a member of St. Catherine of Siena in Kennesaw . This is very well explained thank you and I respect your understanding as this is a complex and debated area..as a evangelical protestant I no issue around communion. My faith and relationship with God is the most important part of my life and Jesus knows my heart and thats what matters to me ...I really enjoy your videos learning so much.
