@@macrostiffproductions2978you’re correct. Some people make more money than these professors who say people are dumb for paying these prices. Business owners need trucks and need tax write offs to make their business work. But these professors who say people are dumb to pay these prices are probably not smart enough to run a business so they get on their keyboard and call people dumb for buying a $65,000 usd pickup. But then again a real professor wouldn’t make such a simple generalization. Not a lot of IQ here . What about a new college grad at a new job who needs a truck to get to work who’s making $130,000 to start? He/she may pay these prices and aren’t that dumb

While there’s no question that truck prices are getting ridiculous, the fact remains that as long as customers keep demanding the latest and greatest in technology and comfort, manufacturers are going to keep providing and at a premium price. They charge this much because they know that they will always have a customer base that is willing to buy them. If any of the big 3 truck companies come out with a quarter of a million dollar half ton truck, I can say with absolute 100% certainty, that there will be people willing to pay for it. TFL has already proven that most truck buyers look for the top end trim packages rather than something basic. Until that trend stops or changes course, finding affordable trucks for the average person is going to become less and less common.

I aint getting screwed. I just got a killer deal on a Chevy Colorado. Granted, there are really awful prices out there but if you do your due diligence and research your vehicle choice before you decide to make a purchase, you will be happy with your purchase. I went with a bare bones 2024 Colorado with great gas mileage, great comfortable seats and a nice touch screen that comes standard. Look into your towing/hauling needs, maybe you dont need the V8. There are plenty of V6 and 4cyl turbos out there that will save you money on gas every week. Evaluate the features you need that are a must have, nice additions or things you absolutely do not want on your truck or car. I had a sunroof (that i could never use because my roof rack was too loud) on my previous vehicle, leather heated power seats, remote start all that and i did not “need” any of that. I had a z71 silverado years ago and used 4wd twice! In years of ownership. Guess what? Saved thousands on getting one with no 4wd. All trucks are basically rwd unless you switch to 4wd mode anyhow. I did my research on my trade and knew what it was worth and only took that. I figured out the few truck makes and models i liked and drove them at several dealers. Then went home and thought about it all for a couple days. I watched youtube videos on tricks and fees dealers add that are entirely negotiable or that you can decline paying for entirely. I used several websites with payment calculators, knew my credit score, knew the APR and the term i was ok with, found the exact truck, color, mpg, horsepower i wanted BEFORE i did any numbers or negotiating at the dealer and researched average repair costs and maintenance costs. Some cars are double or triple than others! At the end, got blue book value for my trade and got $4,000 off sticker price, great APR and term length that I wanted. Not what the salesman wanted. He didnt even do a walk thru with me after, he was a little bitter and salty. Which made me feel even better about my deal! Brand new 2024 Colorado for $28,500. In western Washington with some of the highest prices in the country

These fancy truck and SUVs have been over priced for many years but people keep needing the validation of having a new and huge fancy vehicle. A construction business owner does not need the luxury cab, fancy appointments and 'look at me' expensive rims and tires that for the most part never get a spec of dirt on them from doing real work.

Now I seriously doubt that as an EV the price will actually be $100,000. Chances are it'll get tax credits of some type or rapidly depreciate into discounts to get the price under $100k. That said: the RAM TRX is sold for well more than $125,000 ($89,000 MSRP) and will cost you a FORTUNE in gas, insurance and maintenance.

Its odd why so many drive trucks who don't need them but I suppose with harder winters, 4x4 makes sense and the towing capability works for many who tow a trailer 3 times a year to the campsite. A little over the top indeed for day to day.

I don’t need a 3,245 sq ft 5 bedroom house for 2 people, but I have one. I drive a midsize 4x4 truck. I’ve never not owned a truck since I started driving 40 years ago. My dad has always owned a truck. They are the most useful vehicle on the road in my opinion.

Being from Alberta for the past 45 years i have always had a truck. My F150 platinum has luxury for the "Stepping Out" days and a box for when it has to carry a load or pull a trailer and 4x4 to use when needed. I also like all the extra real estate over the hood for when i roll over top of those little corolas. LOL

In some cases it’s an overall health check and general days supply which is easier to monitor is an indicator of sales indirectly. The rate of sales slows and backlog builds so seeing 2022 and even 23s should not exist

it buys the manufacturers time...cars/trucks on dealers lots are considered sold units by the manufacturer and are included as such in their quarterly sales reports etc...sales numbers are then considered up and the shareholders are happy and stock price remains stable.... but eventually the 'channel stuffing' has to stop.

It all started back in the yr 2000 with the Lincoln Black Forrest 4 door pick-up truck. It was a pi k up truck with all the top tier features of a Lincoln Town Car Wh3n it came out, the concept was laughable at 1st. SUVs used to be the same long ago basic and robust... in the 80s, they made them appeal to well to do BOOMERS of the day. Prices are too high because UAW is forcing BIG Auto to pay its assembly employees 40 bucks an hr and other bull shit they didn't earn
