Definitely my favorite go channel when looking for easy to find, thoroughly covered, need to know information to answer almost any questions I come across.
I love how excited you get about the spreadsheets!
Finally you reviewed this. Thank you Joshua for all the work you put in that.
The numbers on the bolts refer to mechanical properties, eg 10.9 mean 1000MPa tensile strength and 900MPa yield strength

@@JoshuaBardwellhi… I just unboxed my Geprc and the antenna is super floppy? Like it’s not solid at all it literally seems like it in the way of propellers. What should I do? I don’t believe this is normal lol.
Nice! I like the new freestyle obstacles in the yard. Do you have any plans to put led's or any type of lights on them for some cool evening rips?
Thanks for the recommendation on switching to Edge TX and ELRS - I made the jump yesterday and it was *so* easy to setup on both ends (besides soldering the wires to the tiny breakout pads on the FC) to setup. It took me less time to install, flash and bind both the TX and RX than it took me just to bind my TX16S to an XM+ RX! EdgeTX makes my TX16S feel like a brand new radio with all the new features and even the performance gain.
That new course is looking awesome Josh! Nice flying too!
I have been a gep fan for YEARS. Built many of their frames back in the day and they were a very good value. having said that I enjoy building more than I enjoy flying.
GREAT ONE JOSH!!!!!!!!!! I REALLY LOVE THAT YOU STICK WITH FACTS AND IF YOU ARE BIASED YOU LET PEOPLE KNOW REFRESHING HONEST REVIEWS TRULY APPRECIATE YOU BROTHER
Love the intro. So true. Thanks again for the thoughtful comparison at the end too.
Not only do I fall into the “I enjoy building” camp but I like how I cover the motor wires better. I also like to have some quads with motors in the lower recommended Kv rang and some in the higher range. With bind & flys, you get two choices for different cell counts. I do think BNF quads are a good way to get started.
Can't wait saving up now absolutely love my AcroBee 65 great video 👍
Really amazing stuff. Im learning so much from your videos
Love your obstacles really nice and fun looking to fly through.
I just remembered why I love your channel
Dang bardwell your skills are getting soo good!!
I've been looking forward to this review for weeks, and it didn't disappoint! Amazing review video Joshua! The mark five is a quad I'd like to buy, but it is a little pricey. The discussion on whether building is more cost effective anymore got me thinking. Maybe building a five inch on a budget is like building a tinywhoop now, it's cost effective to buy a BND with some parts you want and use the parts to build your own five inch.
Well i learned something, Ty always a pleasure watch your videos.
Great flying in that wood box 📦;)
WOW! Joshua! Your freestyle progress is extremely amazing! I don't have great control similar to what you did at 1:40. WOW!!!
👀 Amazing flying through the obstacle in your field.
Having those built gates are really improving your flying. Nice!
Wow I love those obstacles! Gotta build something similar when we move to the house. Quad appears to be flying really good.
The similarities to the QAV-S JohnnyFPV edition are pretty remarkable :D Honestly though I'm glad to see an RTF company taking a design seriously even if they are taking heavy inspiration from other designs. They even made some nice tweaks in this one along the way. Definitely well executed. My only complaint would be they added a lot of weight in the process.
Very detailed evaluation and comparison!!!!Thank you!!!
I've been flying The Mark 2 for three and a half years its my favorite freestyle quad. Now I need a mark 5.
Look at you go, killing it on the cubicle.
Damn. Practice is paying off. Looking great, Joshua.
Great video. I really need to try one of these new pre builds as they have just come on som much. As you say it close to make no sense to build for the average user now. I was close to getting the Evoque but when I stop pending on other things I will pick one of these up. I like what they have done here.
Gosh Joshua you making me want another drone this frame is really nice
🤣🤣🤣🤣 the opening actually made me laugh. Good job JB. Also props to King Turkey
I like how you've modded your level, eh property, to adjust to the advanced freestyle reviewers needs ;) That "chair" is a nice idea to practice loops and gaps... Mark5 is for sure not bad - reviewed Mark4 last year and it was great - and it is nice for guys like me who could build their own quads but who are just too lazy ;)
I love your videos so much I am only 11 and you inspired me to start learning about fpv drones and I even bought a Cetus pro
Another awesome video! I wish Race Day Quads had the Air Unit version I'd pick this up!
Fun intro 😆, wire loom tape great tip! awesome video as always 👍
Those loops are sick!JB got tucks for days through those obstacles. I pray for a quad like this one day!
2107.5 1960 kv motors, interesting. Also love those obstacles.
Try the 3m friction tape. You’ll love it.
This thing is terrifying loud, PERFECT!
Joshua, You are the best.
What a great spatial training tool at 1:50 love your videos
brilliant video! thanks for this!
Purchased this quad the day after I saw this review which was exactly 2 days after the video was released. Bought the frame kit and I built it myself, with my fav components. 2207 2021kv 6s. Disappointed to find out it takes only 30x30(I might drill some holes in the extreme case). Anyway the build is solid and designed in great details. Weird how it says had front arms and rear ones, which to me they look similar…mheee. Been bashing it a lot, put it under my usual stress test and so far I’m liking it. Also great it takes 5.2 prop size and motor to motor gives such a nice flying experience that I love. Highly recommend to try this quad
Mine is coming tomorrow in analogue 6s, so excited. My Evoque dropped 1 motor today on my last pack only time its gone down after 8 months and 1000 packs, durable even the 20x20 isn't affected. Sorry sir lol. J,B. 😊 your a legend 👏 🙌 ❤ 💙
I have to say: you are getting really good at freestyle now! I'd love to see more :)
I bought a knockoff Mark 4 frame (cuz I'm that guy) the and I was very impressed with the stability and smoothness of flying. I can only imagine they've done it again. Building your own has its own rewards in the amount of stuff you collect to enable you to repair, replace, and get back in the air. It's not cheap tho.
Sick!!! adding gates to yr compound....
I’m getting ready to move to the country. I can’t wait to build some obstacles like you have! The freedom to fly the way I want anytime, and be far away from people will be nice. BNF quads are really good these days! I really like this Mark 5!
Before buying my geprc smart 35 4 months ago, I was so into dji mavic family and video recording. But then I saw some freestye videos and I said to my self I want to fly like that. So I entered this nice new hobby of mine and thank you Joshua for these videos. I learn something new each time. I have no electronic skills but learned alot from yout videos. In the end, I just want a drone and fly it. So maybe I think this Mark 5 is on my list. If I want to sound poetic, I believe that building a drone gives some deeper connection with it. You are a proud owner of your build. But if you just want to fly it, dont bother just buy it and a lot of spare parts, I learned that the first day when propelers and arm broke. And btw you have fans in Slovenia.
That looks pretty nice, if i was to buy it i would order a few extra sets of front end plates for future repairs but it seems pretty good to me.
I still have the mark 3 and it's still my favorite quad as far as fill goes.

Thanks Josh!
Love the video. The information was on point and helped me massively. Also want to say thank you soooo much from a viewers perspective.....There was no lengthy intro branding clip taking up the first minute before any content, there was not the obligatory "HEY GUYS dont forget to hit that like and subscribe" yelling at the beginning and when you do mention a like, we are already 10min into content. Brilliant! So much so that I just felt the need to comment and say keep up the good work and your videos are informative as well as a pleasure to watch!
I wish the Vista had two antennas for bigger coverage while staying light
You are the man thank you brother
The analog vtx on the mark5 is what has me sold. I know geprc sent you the one with an air unit. However it would have been cool to see how well that vtx would hold up in a parking garage 🙂👍
I actually bought the frame and did my own build on it. What came in the box was amazing, all sorts of screws i'd need, all sorts of foam and 3d printed parts, allowing full flexibility into the build allowing for almost any component I could think of. (only thing it doesn't take is 25.5mm aios) well done geprc

Damn Joshua you're getting really good at them tight power loops
I use them motor wire shields but I also put layer of electrical tape over them so the don’t shatter. They last ages then before you need to replace one
Nice work on those sticks!
I replaced all my T-Motor stuff with GEPRC. I also really love their tiny drones.
Ur getting pretty slippery in the yard there JB! Nice work
You have the best job in the world
I appreciate how much info these videos give, but I must have missed or can't find again if he tested the 4s or 6s version.
it's awsome that Quagmire is teaching us about drones :3
I didn't you built that dive gate thing. That is so cool. I should do the same
Bought a mk5 two months ago and I'm super stoked! Was lucky to find an old stock deal with an MPU6000. This is my first 5" quad and I'm blown away with the performance and stability. First flights were on a 4s 1300 and for cruising I managed to get a consistent 7-8 min. I now use a 6s 2000mah pack for cinematic filming and with a gopro I easily reach 8-10min even in strong wind! Great quad, no issues so far

I would say BNF quads are a godsend for countries which do not have a sizable FPV community. Living in Singapore, we do not have a huge selection of retailers from which to purchase parts to build from scratch and parts selection is also limited. You can argue we can purchase them overseas, but the shipping costs and currency conversions (especially with costly living standards) would simply make scratch builds too costly for beginners. Anyway, just want to thank you for your videos. Just started out in FPV with the Cetus X and simulators and already ordered this in 6S analogue to go further!
Because I like building quads 😉 great video though 👍🏻thanks for the time you put in it for us
Love the obstacles!! 26:46 accurate. It's just not cost effective to build a quad anymore unless you start accumulating spare parts and multiple quads due to crashes. Even then, even frames have gone up in price... Some hitting $100. You really end up paying 25 percent more when you build your own, and then you have to deal with the "did I do this right" question.

I like the wire covers but didn't want to re solder all the motor wires to swap to new ones when I changed bottom plates so I took my rc lexan scissors and cut a tiny gap in the bottom center to slide the old ones off and new ones on. The tape holds it down just fine with a hair missing and the top and sides are still whole.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE JB's PROPERTY 🤤 I wouldn't leave to fly anywhere else lol and the new track set up is SUPERB 🤌🏽 I can't believe geprc slapped a 1600 mw vtx on this quad😳 INSANE! Sick intro JB
You rock! Every time!! 🏅🏆💯
Dude! The dive cube thingy! Nice ripping my guy. 🤌🏻🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for the review too. 🎩
gaffer tape FTW. rips perfectly into any size section.
rcinpower was the first I noticed who released 2107 sized motors. The stator length is actuallly 7.5mm, so it should be the same size as this one. The GTS V3 motors have been tested by Chris Rosser in one of his motor testing videos together with Xing2, FPVCycle motors, and Wasp, another motor from rcinpower.
The best part about this video is the freestyle park you made. Please do a video on that. :)
Looking to move in from DJI FPV to a legit quad. This looks like a good place to start!
Your the Man again Mr Bardwell, great review I believe you way more than others thanks. Anyway I've ordered my Mark5 analogue today. How's durability? Have you a review on how to bind n configure off the app please. I need the idiots guide lol. My pal Normally does this for me but I really want to learn myself. Thanks for everything you do for FPV, true inspiration. 👍
For anyone watching this now- GEPRC as of MAY 2022 no longer uses MPU6000 - Its now listed as 6-Axis. Thanks for all the great content JB! I Picked one of these up!
@jianliu9420
Жыл бұрын
So os 6 axis better than mpu6000?
I bought my MK5 not long after this video and so far it's performing pretty good. I replaced the default FC with a Mamba Mk4 F722 App, since GEPRC somehow had not added the barometer and it also just didn't want to work with the SpeedyBee app. After a crash I burned the ESC and replaced it with a Mamba F40. I destroyed 2 LiPos on crashes and have yet to kill a motor, but the frame just tanks crashes at 50kph into concrete like a champ. If I need to replace the motors, I'd definitely get some RCinpower GTS V3 2107 Plus' or Wasp Majors.
I have both the Roma V2 and the Evoque. I got the Roma first (late summer 2021) and my wife bought me an Evoque for Christmas. I have to say out of the box the Evoque was the better drone but I have tuned and gotten my Roma V2 so synced to the way I like to fly, I prefer it over the Evoque. The Roma feels punchier on throttle. The Evoque is great and looks great late evening (LEDs are gorgeous and configurable...running a fixed Seattle Seahawks ble/green theme right tnow. I did swap the camera for a Runcam Phoenix 2 (not a JB) as the default camera was terrible in variable light conditions. 600mW VTX has not been as much a liability as I thought though Roma is still better. I like the Mark 5 but with the cost and I don't need another 5" will keep me away. If they make a 3-3.5" of it, I am there day one as I love the basic design.
Should mention that this is also the debut of the GepRC expressLRS RX! So you can get this BNF with eLRS.
thanks for the reminder to click like. I get involved and many times forget to click like.
@ 20:43 you better be careful - that mortar seems aimed very cleverly at that little structure in front of it...... 😎 Awesome review - makin' me wish I had one LOL 😁
Very interesting! Now get another call and try the HGLRC Sector 5 ;-) I might've bought the HD version of your set and build it but it was not available and had no GPS...
building your own and then customizing the thing would give you the best of both worlds really.
I have droped this frame from 30 meters (my failsafe mistake),and its still OK!
I fly 4" only so no luck. Thanks for the video
I have built quads from the ground up before. But yes, BNF is cheaper. What is good about it you also get a nice base starter pack to build on. Add on, change things and fix. There is still that fun.
12:10 use hockey grip tape. stretchy, very strong adhesive, holds in warm and cool temps, easy to remove.
hello, thank you for the video. just recently i bought DJI Avata, my first fpv drone and i love it. i even like the controller so much. now here is the question, if i buy mark 5 can i still use my controller? i also wanna use my v2 goggles, so which mark 5 model i should order ? thank you so much..
I have lock-tight only at the bottom screws in my mark4 frame. I always open from top, never had to unscrew bottom screws.
Good video mate. How does the GEPRC Mark 5 compare to the Nazgul5 V2 or Nazgul Evoque?
if you smoke a flight controller doing the build there is a good reason for bind and fly just whish there was a spec building company like with pc's so you can get cross company parts.
Hey Josh, thanks for the video. I wanted to note your explanation of the metal front end is a little off. The metal part’s manufactured and post-processing will result in it being more brittle / stiff or soft ‘ bendable. Composites also have variations.
