Why Birgu (Vittoriosa), MALTA should be your next travel destination - Treasures in the Three Cities
We explore Birgu, also known as Vittoriosa, one of the beautiful Three Cities of Malta.
We catch the ferry from Sliema over to Valletta and walk through the capital's streets to the Upper Barrakka Gardens. We use the Barrakka Lift down to the ferry across to the Three Cities. Only 1 euro and it saves a LOT of steps!
Once across the Grand Harbour, we arrive in Vittoriosa. We explore @HeritageMalta 's Malta Maritime Museum before having Fort St Angelo almost to ourselves!
We stop for lunch at Birgi on Triq San Lawrenz and then head through the narrow, quiet streets to the Inquisitor's Palace, a fascinating place.
We shall have to visit Senglea and Cospicua another day...!

Thanks for showing us the three cities, we didn’t make it there when we visited. Thank goodness for that lift. I wouldn’t want to walk back up after a long day sight seeing 😮😂❤

@PostcardAndAPint Yes we think you'd love Malta! However, at the moment they are having multiple power cuts and the air con keeps stopping!! We definitely would like to return one day as there is so much more to see. We think you'd enjoy a pint of Cisk lager! N&Nx

This was a beautiful day trip, the scenery and history you showed was amazing. Birgu is gorgeous, we’ve been all around Malta but never made it across there but definitely want to go. Once saw a video about the Birgu festival of lights where one weekend they switch off the electric lights and Birgu is lit only by candles. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video 👏
