Why Big Men will ALWAYS dominate the NBA

Спорт

Life has a lot of common themes, with one of the most prevalent being cycles. That fact everything in life will eventually come back to its origin. And just like the circle of Life, the NBA has returned back to its origin. In the beginning giants roamed the court, with legendary players like George Mikan, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain showing that having an elite big is the key to winning a championship, eventually the league switched to a guard dominated setting, but always in the background were dominant and elite big men waiting for the chance to return the NBA back to its origin. And now that time has finally come. With Jokic winning the championship putting up one of the most dominant performances ever, and with the last 3 MVP winners being either power forwards or centers, its pretty obvious that the league is dominated by big men, and its becoming more obvious that teams are going to need to invent in one going forward to want to contend. But how did we get to this point? Well lets talk about it.

Great video, really enjoyed the take and argumentation. I definitely agree that there will always be periods where guards or big man will be more dominant. It's just crazy to think about what kind of big men will enter the NBA in the next years with Giannis, Jokic and soon Wemby already there

Jokic is just Wilt without the ego and athleticism, and who chose to pass the ball.

@@Himmyjewett yes but that was the latter part of his career. He would have been a beast if he did it from the start. And Russell wouldn't have won all those championships
