@@Vor567tez He’s often depicted as an attractive man with white wings (as he was said to be the angel of light since his name translates to “Light Bearer”) but he’s also sometimes depicted as a snake or a dragon although I think that’s only after he fell. Most people tend to agree that Lucifer was a seraph as an angel, possibly because seraph roughly translates to “burning one” which would link to Lucifer being the bringer of light.

Well ancient people is most likely describing the closest thing they know to compare. Also depends on the person. It could be something of a jewel-like object with something inside of it. If these people say our modern day camera, they may think its an eye as well and modern people carry few eyes in our pockets, eyes on the streets, houses and front of a glowing frame. Likely what they seen is so abstract to them which is perfectly make sense, since something heavenly means something out of this world and interdimensional.

Interesting thought. But I do believe that the descriptions given are not all literal, since it’s a bit naive to think so. Even modern humans today sometimes describe things in a non-literal sense and rather symbolically. I assume ancient humans are even likelier to use such symbolism.

This is a common debate. There are multiple accounts in the Bible of angels having “eyes” all over them. There is one specific account where the writer describes that they saw the angel use their eyes to “view” the world. Because of that, many believe that they are in fact eyes or at least very closely resemble them.

@@Yambag Let me puyt this in perspective. The first native to see a train in person most likely thought they were witnessing a giant demon roaring across the land. My point is, as primitive as the israelites were during that period, would see a modern car and think it was some sort of demonic beast. I believe the Ophanim's appearance to Ezekiel (being wheel-like, and being four of them) was supposed to look like a massive chariot. "Their movement never varies as they go", so I imagine they moved in a similar way and to the same direction (just like pairs of wheels). Even because Ophanim's name is often referred to/translated as "Thrones", which supports the idea of a Chariot (that carries the throne of God). With four angels around it, as if escorting/bodyguarding the throne.

Imagine hearing "Be not afraid", you turn around and there's just some eldritch abomination staring at you.

While there are some angels depicted in very bizarre forms in the Bible, there are probably far more who appear as normal human beings. The angels who appeared to the apostles at the Ascension for example were indistinguishable from ordinary people other than their white clothes.

I thought it depended on where they placed in the hierarchy. The higher, the less human. The most commonly seen in meme culture are Ophanim (also known as wheels, singular is ophan), Cherubim (singular: cherub), and Seraphim (my personal favourite, singular is seraph).

Wow, this makes Sephiroth’s True Form as the One-Winged Angel, feel like something straight out of Disney, than how the Bible describes them, in a very, unfathomable, kind of way. No wonder that in Luke 2:10, an angel of the Lord, tells the shepherds to not be afraid, as seeing Bibically Accurate Angels, has actual context, as this is shockingly interesting, as now I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re flying around in heaven, by the time we get there, someday, within the distant future.

I love how you describe how Biblically literal angels are really like. Mainly the Cherubim and the top two hierarchy of angels, thank you so much for this great explanation of this. That being said, there is a little BIG problem with your video: As in Exodus and repeated in the Haggadah, it was G-d HIMSELF who went throughout Egypt to kill the first born, NOT the angel of death. There's also the part where Moses said let my people go so that they [the Jews] shall serve/worship me [G-d], but that's a different topic! XD

Interesting how humans in the past tried to describe non-human beings and technology. And the first thing the aliens communicated was : Fear Not.

I dont find them creepy at all. I think they're beautiful, the ones drawn so far anyway. Anyway, their striking appearance is probably definitely one reason why ever time u have an angel appearing to a person they tend to start with "be not afraid" lol.

My first question is “what is your vision like” followed up with “can you see all your other eyes and see your eyes looking at your eyes that are seeing you looking at your eyes?” with the final question of “do your wings poke your eyes”

Those angels look like the entities you see on DMT and this realm is filled with pure love and harmony . I have been there at this place it’s amazing. The first time I took any psychedelic (mushrooms) when the hallucination began, well for one.. it was all cyclical. So all round, encompassing my minds vision, endlessly complex, rings and rings rotating independently, every spot I focused on was endlessly detailed, to the point beyond my explanation or description. It was so overwhelming, but oddly, so overwhelmingly "beautiful" I began to weep, and was weeping in a fetal position uncontrollably, from how much beauty and love I was experiencing. These aren't actually angels, they are beings higher than angels in paintings and such.

Eeeek. Re angelology, i'm but a novice. I'd never heard of Ophanim. But i gasped watching this video: some 20 to 25 years ago (i'm 70), i had this intense dream, that angels were attacking the earth, spinning like giant buzzsaws. They would dive into the earth, disappearing for a few seconds, then emerging back into the air, buzzsawing all the way. They were multicolored, but predominently copper-hued. Quite terrifying. My Jesus loving friend (Hey! I💙Jesus) poohpoohed my dream. But when you described those wheels🤯, my heart fell into my boxers

If you look at the zodiacal wheel, at each corner, there is an astrological sign that corresponds with each animal, those being Leo (lion), Taurus (ox), Aquarius (man), and Scorpio, which used to use the symbol of an eagle or a phoenix, but was changed to a scorpion.
