It’s so hard to buy players you want at Barça right now. Xavi has to start a new La Masia graduate every 2-3 weeks with the ongoing injuries at the club. It’s no wonder he wants to leave. Not having your strongest squad available and the pressure of winning the title from the club is immense. And Spanish media doesn’t help too. No manager could have done what Xavi is doing even right now. I think if he had all the 1st choice players available he would have taken Barça to another title charge. The academy products are doing great but still it’s hard to achieve anything when your regular players are in and out of the squad frequently.

The sporting reason is that he felt the players weren’t believing in his method, you could tell the mood of the players was low same as performance. Also most of the media attacks were focused on xavi and trying to get him out both from Madrid and from Barcelona (the antilaporta crowd). By saying he is leaving he blindsided the media and destroyed their narrative, and also put all the focus on the players. That changed their mood entirely because now they feel responsible for their own performance. Add to that the breakthroughs of lamine and cubarsi, and that explains the reason the team is performing so much better. I don’t know if xavi will leave but I hope he stays, the numbers don’t lie, he took the team from 9th place in la liga and getting destroyed in champions league by benfica to La Liga champions and betting psg in quarter finals.

People seem to forget how much slander he got before his decision to leave from the barca fans. The problem is the fans, just like man utd fans, they have such high expectations from the club. Sure barcelona has won a league title under him, but to keep competing with real madrid and also in champions league is extremely hard when you're on a tight budget.

That is very not true. His transfers were a disaster so his game is lacking. So the demands are not unreasonable but he failed badly. Barcelona isn't all about titles and he had roughly 300 millions to build a competitive team.

More vital context: Xavi renewed his contract last season with better pay and a year longer. So in our wage bill, we accounted for his additional years. But now with him leaving while still giving up the financial rewards for leaving, We will have a harder financial gap to fit in a new coach and his coaching staff. Plus given that Xavi works so well with the youth and a small budget. The club has more to gain with him staying than leaving. with no suitable replacement who fits the boxes as well has he does. The biggest reason being he wouldn't face any problems staying while another manager could possibly not get registered.

Honestly such a great manager, winning the LaLiga for us even without budget. There is no replacement that is better than him who we can afford. Hope he changes his mind 😢

Laporta current president is anything BUT a clown. When he arrived, barcelona was in danger of becoming a private equity team or disappearing he saved us from that.
