Ironically and unfortunately, Mr.Himanta Biswas Sarma, a constitutional elected leader, is the root cause of the ongoing trouble in the sensitive region of NE. It always used to be insurgency problem in the region but now the problem lies in one man's narcissism. Media labelling him as the "Chanakya of the east" must have gone to his head. He is more like Xi Jinping of NE India. We, in the NE region, thought we have left the decades old insurgency problem behind us but one man's reckless behaviour has once again allowed violence to rear it's ugly head. I believe China is absolutely savouring the moment.

The problem now is that the new CM of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, wants to flex his new found powers and show himself as a strongman that can solve all problems with force, not caring for his neighbours at all. He is giving a free reign to Assam police to bully the neighbouring states. He also sent the Assam police to Meghalaya on the same day itself.

well the question is not who shot first..question is why we all same national did this. hope to find solution by leaders of both states and my brothers and sisters of North East.

They forcefully encroached deep inside Mizoram. Mizoram Police withdrew and asked them to leave. They retaliate with violent clash. Yet, SP from Mizoram negotiated a peace deal which they repeatedly ignored. Suddenly shots are fired at civilians. Mizoram Police have no choice but retaliate with more shots. Assam has taken Mizoram tolerence for weakness. Our protests regarding border issues are being stopped by the Gov't of Mizoram for years until it culminate into an extreme situation yesterday. Never attempt another round of encroachment in the future or we will have no choice but to defend ourselves.

What happened was not good assam police went under mizoram territory. Fortunately no mizo people killed.. But mizoram police shouldn't order firing.. They can start lathi charge.. Jawan lost their life and their families will also suffer. Think both side it can solve.. But life cannot be back. If same decision was done by so of assam district then scenario will be different.. @@sc-wq3pl the casualties and deaths are really unfortunate, but that doesn't mean we're in the wrong just because no one was killed from Mizoram, they encroached into our land and fired the first shot (there are many video proof). We fired back, not our fault our police are better shooters. Playing the victim card because they lost 5-6 lives and Mizoram didn't isn't valid, especially when they're the ones who crossed the border and shot first.

The Assamese should remember that it was the mizos who were standing with them and protesting against the CAA. I hope you'll realised how dangerous your CM and his propaganda is not only for the neighbouring states but for Assam itself .

Himanta killed his own six Jawans.. All fingers pointed on him.

What do you expect Meghalaya having issues with AP or Manipur with Meghalaya or Meghalaya with Mizoram. Study geography and history, you will get the answers, all states follow different guidelines and due to that and history they have border issues. Regarding the Meghalaya issue they were putting electric poles in disputed area that why Assam Intervened. Until borders are accept by both parties problems will occur. Don't act like fools

during my travels in north east I understood one thing. There are one of the nicest people I have seen in entire India. But this behavior comes from culture and when these people see it compromised they react. when these people come to delhi we treat them like shit and that's when they learn to let go of their culture which further creates the divide between their fundamentalism and modernization. We must learn to respect whats beyond hindi heartland of this nation and then only we can dream of a united India.

@@shekhargupta3911 I think we fail to recognize/teach that identity is layered. I can be Tamil and a Maharashtrian at the same time. Rajnikant is a Marathi speaking Kannadiga who is a Tamilian. We impose a singular Tamil identity on him. His layered identity should be celebrated.

@ahs pm so if I settled in Mizoram, would I be considered as exclusively Mizo, or would I be considered as exclusively Tamil? Or would I be accepted as Tamil Mizo? That's something I can't answer but experience. In Maharashtra, I was exclusively Tamil, my Maharashtrian identity was othered despite my efforts to integrate myself (I speak fluent Marathi).

@Sara i dont know what happened in Meghalaya, its a different state FYI. Whether they were beaten because of a border conflict i dont know. But if you are trying to point out such incidents, there are plenty of similar brutal acts committed on Mizo people while travelling through Assam. Gupta ji, since Mr. Himanta Biswa Sarma became CM of Axom 3 months ago, tension first rose along Assam - Nagaland boundary. Then simultaneously along Assam - Meghalaya and Assam - Mizoram boundaries. Next it will be along Assam - Arunachal Pradesh boundary. The pattern is very clear. Mr. Sarma is using violence and force to settle long disputed boundaries among NE states. Not even 3 days passed after HM Amit Shah met all the CMs of NE discussing inter-state boundaries. Then Assam Police entered Meghalaya and Mizoram fully armed as if they are going to war. He is playing vote bank politics to appease illegal immigrants mainly from Bangladesh. How some people called him "Chanakya of North East" is beyond me??!!!

Himanta killed his own Jawans, we want peace..not war and we pray for the bereaved families 🙏🏻🙏🏻

This is why i subscribed this chanel..i know that you're not gonna bias towards no one..We need a voice that can educate my fellow Indians what really is the root and stems of this border issues. And many ignorants used to say we are immigrants and not Indians, this breaks our heart so deep and we not only called ourselves Indians we are just about Indians as the mainlands are. Our textbooks betrayed us. It never taught us to see beyond our linguistic ethnicities and culture. With the internet and folks like Shekharji, we are finally learning about our country and it's diversity. I hope we learn more, appreciate the diversity, celebrate it and learn to respect it. Gets free access to Assam to use it's facilities even purchase properties in the state however slimy enough to call Assam the bully when she tries to defend her 'legal land' from encroachments. @Anime Crush No, you weren't counted under Assam, you were part of Assam. Read up history. Assam buys stuff too from the other states and in much larger quantity if we are to compare. So the benefits is way more . You get free access to Assam for almost everything. This all is okay as we are brothers/sisters but instead of being respectful many of you are busy passing vile comments on Assam and her citizens. Also, Legally as per official records it is not Assam but the states which were born out if it who are encroaching the land. It is these states who are behaving like China and not willing to accept official records and accords just like China and wants to change the borders as per some older 'more historical' grounds.

This tactic is no different from Marathis and Kannadigas fighting against each other, except instead of stones and sticks, they are using bullets. That's a really sad escalation. Perhaps we can learn from that Belgaum dispute and come up with an amicable solution. Perhaps we can look at Chandigarh as a way to resolve this. Maybe an autonomous hill district might work. Either way, the ethnic minorities can demand that. Anything is better than kicking this issue to the next generation.

Meghalaya is have trouble with Assam on the same day. Something is wrong with Assam. Virengte is Mizo land. The land name itself is even in Mizo language. Once again it's the British fault.

The BJP CM Sarma of Assam: 1. Makes discriminatory comments against Muslims on the daily (no surprise, everyone does that these days) 2. Made fake news on social media that protesters chanted pro Pakistan slogans. Facebook deleted his fake news posts. 3. Treats COVID as a joke 4. @@bhinbhinkaka6514 We dont have a problem with people leaving their country in fear as is the case of the burmese but we dont want people getting all our jobs which we could do ourselves but even them we still tolerate and never killed them like as you described in my knowledge.

@@israellalchhanchhuaha847 you don't have problem bcoz they are christian and are from same tribe as you. Mizos are recent settlers in lushai hills from chin state of Burma. They kicked aut Chakmas and Brus who were there before any Mizo set foot in his area.

The only person in mainland India who thoroughly understand the sentiment of the Mizo which was hurted irreparably by the exclusion of our Chiefs in the 1930s in drwing the boundaries with Assam..... And the Govt at centre be it the Congress or BJP who always invariably fail to understand and respect the sentiment s of the NE Indian in general.....he

This was something that needed no apology or correction. It was clearly just a simple, honest mistake.

After a new-found status, Assam's CM is picking a fight with everyone. Recently, the same tactics (police force) were utilised to encroach land in Arunachal. Now, Mizoram. The next, maybe with Nagaland or Manipur. If a peace in northeastern states will turn into conflicts. We all know who we should blame.

Some Mizos are accusing Biswa of wanting to take their land to settle Bangladeshi refugees, mainly Hindus refugees. But in reality Mizoram accepted about 1 lakh Chin people from Burma in 1988 and is still accepting Burmese refugees despite the order of HM. Don't blame others. (Search about Chin refugees of burma )

The tribal value their culture so much that the Indians on the other side of land find it difficult to 'Indianize' the area! Au contraire, Christian missionaries in such short period were able to penetrate their society and convert nearly 100% and instilled 'Christian identity' deep into the people, that people are literally taking up arms 'in the name of Christ'. This is really a testament to the ingenuity of the missionaries. Food for thought.

However, it is dumb to not acknowledge the problems which are religious, in this case, foreign ideologies penetrating the society and turning it virulent. You should educate yourself how Missionaries overthrew the indigenous society in Hawaii and established their colonial rule. It would have been same here but Indian state is much stronger.

@@joydevsarkar4474 Yes. And not just NSCN other groups as well. Forced conversions by these groups and atrocities against minority is something not well discussed in Indian mainstream. Recently a Catholic priest was arrested in Tamil Nadu, but the hatred runs much deeper than just one person.

Assam acted like the Chinese PLA in the Galwan valley, Mizoram police, the most peaceful state had to defend its territory just like the indian army in the Galwan valley. Assam CM must stop encroaching into others state
