Even when he wasn't getting these results, I loved watching how often Havertz' pressure led to a stray ball ending up at the feet of Odegaard, Saka, etc. That part of his game - creating chaos at the opponents' defensive third, has been top-notch throughout the whole season and gone on wonderfully over time

Players like Havertz, Saka, Sheringham, Muller, Inzaghi, Milner, Carrick always confuse 'casual' observers. It's only when you appreciate what these footballers are thinking, that you can appreciate them more

Chelsea tried to figure out which position to play him on. Arsenal realized that he could play all positions at once.

What Kai did in that defensive position was also to block the attacker from making a forward pass or crossing the ball. In the attacker ended up in man’s land because he didn’t know what to do with the ball!! Very clever by Kai!! He was as soo irritating to those two defenders. He kept pushing and nudging them. Stepping on their toes and elbowing them on the chest! He was a monster! Such a clever player! His movement is second to none. Most times the defenders didn’t where he was to mark him!!

To me it looks like Gyokeres may be the solution. If hes capable of playing as an AM I see Arteta using him and Kai to interchange with both playing midfield and striker in different situations. We say this briefly with Trossard coming into play 8 for us but he lacked the size and the physicality to be a defensive menace like Kai. Since Gyokeres looks physical and has a engine on him and great finishing, could be the perfect partner to Kai who's great at reading when to move up and when to say back.

we shouldnt play gyokeres and kai together, its one of them or none of them, its not enough creativity. dont get me wrong gyokeres can create and is more skillful and technical then kai but not to a greatttt extent.

@@sirengobrian4405 I agree, will add another physical force and he seems to have great finishing. This allows Jesus to also rotate on the wings, gives us q quality backup to Saka and means these players can take breaks when needed and in Jesus's case hopefully mean less injuries.

Watching Kai play for the Arsenal is making me realize why every manager who has ever coached him always hold Kai in high regard. Incredible work rate, great tactical knowledge and positional awareness.

If Havertz has a superpower on the pitch, its "Being at the right place". Other things arent amazing, i.e. ball striking, dribbling, etc. But he is REALLY good at that first thing

This is due his world class off the ball movments and deep runs. He interprets the pitch and makes the right decisions. Other than that it is also ridiculous how many positions this guy can play.

This one might be a strech, but I think it's somewhat like when it was said "Thomas Müller can’t beat you with his close ball control. He can’t beat you with his pace. And he can’t beat you with his dribbling skills. He just beats you". Havertz also kind of does that ,,only being in the right space"-thing, and he's very good at it.

This was prime Aaron Ramsey's strength as well but he looked good with the eye test. Tbh I think Havertz is the equivalent of telling a tall athletic average defender to give his best impression of a centre forward. Its clunky at best but his positional awareness and work rate is paying off for a well drilled team like Arsenal. I'm curious to see what else he adds to his game as the seasons progress.

Havertz is a fascinating player really like he never appears to be brilliant at anything obvious yet he is so good at the subtle things that the team is always doing better with him in the team, and you often can’t immediately see it (but yes most Arsenal fans can see it now & these KZread analysis videos obviously point it out!) 😊

2:09 why didn’t you include the fact he was the one who gave it away in this scenario, it emphasises for me his best attribute his speed of reaction when we lose the ball. He’s elite at counter pressing and winning his duels and that reaction to him losing the ball is a great example and debunks the ‘he’s lazy’ rhetoric 🙄. Really enjoy ur content tho 👊🏿 respect

Havertz is what I would call a “utility” forward. He’s basically Thomas muller. He basically does everything the manager asks him to do, and when you have a high football IQ like Havertz, it’s a match made in heaven for such a complex side like arsenal who thrive on creating space and keeping possession. I’d say past the half way life, Havertz is the glue that keeps that entire forward ticking, and not just that, he also drifts into the midfield etc to become an extra man in the mid if needed.
