Its because of the complete held of the nations wealth of the landowners, which hold such wealth due to the extreme productivity of the pampas region. They need an expensive food to win more money, and if its cheap, they export it and food lacks. They do not produce food, they just own the land and are paid a big % for producers, a % which is ridiculous to any company competing in the market. I talk about 20-50% of the production in dollars.

That is the famous Torres del Paine in Chile, the jewel of Patagonia 4:11 I visited it five years ago and I would dare to say that it is one of the few natural monuments that does not require editing in the photographs. Chilean Patagonia is surreally beautiful, 5:18 all green, humid and with that fascinating and entertaining eroded geography; with its temperate rain forests, its thousands of islands and archipelagos; its fjords, canals, its large ice fields and snowdrifts, its forested coasts and, of course, with the end of the geographical world. Sumo a tu observación, que puso el cultivo de caña de azúcar en la región pampeana cuando es en el noroeste del país (Jujuy, Salta y Tucumán), y ni hablar de la producción de vinos desde Río Negro, la región cuyana (Mendoza, San Juan y San Luís), Córdoba, La Rioja, Catamarca, Tucumán, Salta y Jujuy; la yerba mate y el té de Misiones y Corrientes, el algodón de Formosa y El Chaco, la producción de corderos para lana y carne en la patagonia, en fin la lista da para varios renglones más. Teniendo en cuenta todo lo que tenemos a la mano, es inadmisible que tengamos pobreza e indigencia en nuestra sociedad; es de empezar a mirar honestamente todo lo que hicimos mal para empezar a corregir y revertir esta muy mala situación económica y social.

@@carloscabada9991 Todo esta centralizado para que sea todo lo mas importante en buenos aires. En Argentina se deberia respetar mejor el federalismo tal como indica la constitucion, pero no es asi. Si se respetase mejor de lo casi nulo que es ahora, cada provincia actuaria de manera similar a cada estado en USA. Es decir cada provincia podria tener leyes provinciales eficientes y legalizar cosas que su poblacion quiera o prohibir cosas que sus propios habitantes consideren mal. Pero en cambio todo desde hace 100 años las decisiones se toman en buenos aires mientras el resto del pais lo dejan de lado.

Very informative video! I think the culture and political system plays a vital role when you compare East Asian countries with South American Countries. If argentina has the same working culture as japan, as well as the same political system as China, it may beceom top 3 in the world.

@@agustinmontoya128 entonces parece que te falta informarte, Milei a dicho varias veces que sanearia las empresas públicas antes de venderlas por ejemplo Aerolíneas Argentinas tiene un año de financiamiento para poder arreglarlo. El objetivo final de la privatización es devolver estas empresas deficitarias al sector privado así ningún gobierno futuro vuelva a usarlas para poner amiguetes y otra ves den números rojos,

​@@alanpozo7334YPF es mixta, tiene participación estatal y privada, solo que como el 51% del paquete accionario es estatal, las decisiones de su directorio las toma un director elegido por el estado (aunque el directorio también pueda ser controlado por los accionistas privados y también tengan voto en las decisiones, su voto no es mayoritario).

In terms of Geography, Argentina and chile are "along with China, india and Usa" the most diverse. The other andean nations "venezuela, colombia, ecuador, peru bolvia" and also Mexico are also among the most geographically diverse countries but not on top 5

As an argentinian I agree with you: Argentina´s geography is amazing. But we have several negative greographical issues: 1) We are far away from the main international commerce flows. 2) From Patagonia to the Puna in the north, we have what we call: the dry diagonal. 3/4 of Argentina is dryness or a desert. 3) Our population is over concentrated in Buenos Aires metropolitan region.

You forgot talk about the water reserves and the huge oceanic plataform and it's resurses.

Its about *people* , its about freedom of transforming this natural potential into industry, goods and services, generating jobs, attracting more and more business, competing for labor force, wages going up, etc etc etc. The one thing standing in the way of development is the government. For various shady, nefarious and disgusting reasons you can imagine.

Amazing video of my beloved country. One small correction though, in timestamp 6:54 you show a famous building and pass it off as "Buenos Aires." This building is famously known as "the beehive" (in Spanish, "el panal") and it is the executive government building of the city of Cordoba, Argentina. Which is the second most important city after Buenos Aires (in my opinion). There are strong rivalries between these two cities to become the center of economic development so it would be like confusing LA with NYC. Cordoba is the main province that voted President Milei into power these last elections winning by a landslide in that province (74% in Cordoba, the national average was 55% for Milei), where leftist Buenos Aires came through for the Peronist. So there are important differences in the work force and work culture between these cities. Cordoba is not a city to be sidelined or trifled with. Many automobile brands have factories over there such as Toyota and Volkswagen. FYI I am neither from Cordoba or Buenos Aires so my assessment is from an independent POV.

I'm not K, but that psycho is going to be exactly as bad as the neoliberal policies of the dictatorship, Menem/Cavallo/De la Rua and Macri, but worst. His plan is devaluation, sabotage the international commerce with our biggest partners and financial supporters, accelerate to hyperinflation, sell out our strategic assets (oil, lithium, land) to foreigners and allied predatory millionaires (AKA The Casta). We will be lucky if we come out of his term as a single country.

Greetings from 🇦🇷. I think that GDP per capita is not the right method to measure the true wealth of a country. Argentina in the beginning of 20th century was rich like Saudi Arabia or Qatar today, not Germany or United States. A wealth concentrated in a few hands. Moreover, our country didn't have much people, in spite of European immigration.
