the famous saying “bislery ka pani pine wale dhare ki vyatha kaise samjhange “
Fantastic! Like what you did.. reaching out to the people at ground zero. Nobody is ready to listen or even talk to the native people nowadays. People should understand what actually is needed to heal the Himalayas, instead of degrading it further. We need more green! 💚
Every part of india has its own culture , especially the folk songs of particular region which always touches my heart.
That Dadi's Love For Trees And Pain In Heart Is Clearly Visible
Such a peaceful video.India’s history is more than kings and queens.India’s history is filled stories of common people fighting for the things that are right.
Movements to save environment are must needed. In today's world it is easy to unite and raise our voice.
Bilkul sch hai ye humare uttarakhand or baki himalaya rajyo m hydropower projects ne jeevan chin liya hai or pichle ek mahine se se uttarakhand me aag lgi h pr kisi ka dhyan nhi jata . Ye sb karya sarkar apne liye or bde businessmen apne liye krte hain or ant me yahan ke local logo ko Jaan gawani pdhti h please mera nivedan hai agr koi baat phucha skta hai toh please humare jungle bachalo #savehimalayas
Really inspiring! We had this chipko movement in our history books during the school.
Looking at the condition of my garhwal makes my heart cry. These people are last who is holding this culture, language, attires, traditional cusinies and local devi devta. Please visit atleast once in a year to your roots.
Sad reality of Uttrakhand but still people are standing together with all the hope they have
This is the story of every rural areas in India
Really appreciate the efforts Down to Earth team have taken for this video.
I cried my heart out , a part of me dies when trees are cut
Thanks a ton, to team DTE. As an occasional visitor to UT, as I have visited villages such as Govind ghat, Mana, Nandadevi NP, Valley of flowers NP, I can feel and visualize the Chipko movement after watching this episode. Today, there is need of another Chipko movement in the entire country than ever before.
These people teach us the lesson about importance of our natural environment, actual reality is on the ground. Why government don't understand the consequences we are headed towards.
Thank you so much for this wonderful reach out regarding Chipko movement
fantastic !! by listening to that old women's song getting goose bumps🔥 and finally who are we to destroy this beautiful planet?? in the name of sustainable development already much destruction have been done .. FOREST IS EARTH DELIGHT💫 and its our duty to conserve this planet. SAVE FORESTS AND SAVE MOTHER EARTH🙌
now days uttarakhand facing same problem. That's why uttarakhand need a strong #land_law because land mafia is ruining the environment and ecology of uttarakhand. the best and easy example is dehradun.
I am proud of my pahari people ❤❤
DTE is doing real journalism in India!👌
If everyone of us who is watching this.. Take a pledge to not waste water and be careful about how we are using water.. We can too make efforts... It's our planet... We all need to do a lot for it.. And this begins with a single step...
I appreciate the team who recognize them and made this documentary
Down to Earth 👍🙏🧿
excellent story telling
Literally very nice and helpful vedio ❤❤
Its saddening to see how important facts about environmental protection and conservation of mountain ecosystem are being seriously ignored in the face of development. Its high time all of us wake up to these challenges faced by the people of the hills and mountains.
Right this is reality of uttarakhand Very painful
Very silent and emotional video 👌👌These people have done so much for the nature really hat's off to them 🙏🙏
Thankyou for doing all this down to earth
Beautifully presented, the lens of natives portrays gem of emotions… All love to DTE for such stories and more power ❤
i think its a fundamental flaw to think eviroment vs development. Enviroment has to go hand in hand with development and development has to go hand in hand with the enviroment or both will fail. Agroforestry is one of many answers to this problem.
Thankyou ver much for a present situation of such a great movement.
*Thanks Down to Earth 🌍*
How beautiful it sounds to hear such geet❤
Govt should take initiative to save this beautiful place. A beautiful tourist destination
In all letter and spirit the land of Uttrakhand has to be protected the people, the animal's, the flora and the fauna. Everything we have to question the nature of development is really development or devastation.
And that's the Reporting 🔥❤️❤️
Awesome work DTE
Thanks to D2E for making such a important video 👏 Hope Govt. will look after the environment. We people may not do an Chipko movement from here and there but to support locals , to aware people about such issues we ought to share this video ):
Thank you so much for this gem DTE!
Excellent story. Proud of Down to Earth team
Thank u for such a wonderful vedio❤
from uttarakhand ....love for down to earth
Thanks for showing truth 😁
Government should understand that development is necessary but not at the cost of increasing disasters and loss of livelihood of natives, I don't understand why they are not considering any environment evaluation before installing any hydroelectric power plant resulting in increasing proneness of our beautiful state towards hub of disasters.
Thanks 💓
Dte keep doing such journalism always superb 🎉
This is harsh reality of every states not only in India but also in the overall world.
The real problem is population explosion. Development projects will be needed with population growth.
Literally Capitalism ruiened these beautiful part of India. We again proven that we are pupets of west. We asians changed ourself just to serve the west. Future seems dark.
Great video ❤
It disheartens me to see the great unrecognised Gaura Devi and all other women and men are unknown to us unlike Sunderlal Bahuguna.
I don't understand why this govt just making roads relentlessly. Yes there is requirement to make transport and infra smooth with time but not at the cost of environment.Just to prove they are most hardworking govt till date they are messing up the things specially in hills.Writing this from Himachal in 43°C.

Destruction and Development would continue to have tussle for years to come. Majority would learn life lessons after making big mistakes. Not before!
I feel hopeless now.I think this is our fate. Not only India, every country is degrading environment in the name of development.
Present government not serious about environment 😢
Painful to watch. May the people in charge come to their senses before its too late.
This is development by indian....
शासन सुनता नहीं है!!
CSE please make these videos in Hindi please

I think the current uttarakhand govt have zero percent interest for the environmemt even though look at the grandma who is so old but knows the value of nature it just depend on the practical knowledge .You can have a lot of degree etc etc but in real scenario these peoples have a lot of basic knowledge in which our govt is lacking .Our state is known for its beautiful nature but the properties or special things our state has the govt is erasing one by one and Some people will say why i am criticising the govt ?You can also do from yourself? For them i will tell you that a lot of initiative lot of things is happening by the youth and from the people of uttarakhand but our govt didnt. Support it The govt will just click pictures on harela day and just post stories with there happy faces dont know why But on the same day they put some development tactic and then say we need a thousand trees for the developmt Wwaaah
