this drama is on another level, the story is not a typical one for a high school drama, talks about sex trafficking which is timely relevant in South Korea (for those who knew the nth room case), and the casting was perfect especially Park Joo Hyun, she nailed her character (and FYI they are just rookies)

yea same! the hermit crab representing jisoo's new self finally overflowing to gyuri and jisoo's fate being left for interpretation was absolutely perfect. the only thing im curious about is kitae. where the heck did he go. his character was just there and always causing some trouble, i feel like i need to know more about whats going on in that crazy brain of his. like how he was smiling whil killing jisoo and his need to bully the other kids to wanting to die. i think id be happy either way but i just hope if they do make a season 2 its just as good as this one!

jisol_11 i think its supposed to be an open ending up to your interpretation. i do believe they left the scene in the apartment stairwell tho. but theres no telling they didnt get found after that. thats whats supposed to be the open ending

The thing I loved most about this drama is how every single character is not evil but not good. They are morally ambiguous and cause the audience to question their own morals and limits regarding how far they are willing to take things to achieve certain goals and causes you to question certain social structures within our society.

Kwak kitae is evil. He was bragging about pushing someone to commit suicide and he was smiling when he was stabbing Jisoo. When he stabbed him the first time I thought it was out of anger and he will step back and panic... but he liked it and kept stabbing and smiling.

Samantha Sanjai lol true but what he did was also wrong cuz what he did was to earn money by using sex trafficking plus Minhee was a minor which he shouldn’t have used in the first place. He made the wrong choice starting when he decided to work that way to make money. Even if he did use the man for security it was still wrong cuz what if something go wrong and he doesn’t make it in time? She’s dead and not only that she’s also underage. Even if she did listen she had a mental problem plus the police woman would still continue to investigate and if she listened to Jisoo the officer would’ve found another way to get to him.

@@akl1242 actually jisoo let minhee work because he knows the importance of money, and people think the poorer people can work righteously but given the inequality in wages (if you remember the episode where jisoo works at a factory), the poor people no matter how much hard they work they won't get compensated enough to pay for basic needs like school or college, only the cleverest of them could get scholarships which also has its dark side to it. thus jisoo understand an underage girl like minhee wanting to be a prostitute so he let her work. all he did was doing his own business, he didn't even force her. things only went wrong because of bad luck with that gangster, well bad luck always prevails in that kind of industry. but people will never get his intentions, and will always look at him as pimp. this series gave me the movie parasite feels.

yeah i was annoyed by minhee too but still in the end of the day what jisoo and of course minhee did was wrong, and i think thats the beauty of the drama, because even though they did those things you can't really blame them as we know from watching the story their reasons why they do such things. @Creative_ Hands999 since the ending was open I would like to believe that he escaped with Gyuri because when the cop arrived there was no one there.

This show really made us all sympathize with Jisoo and almost wanna protect him while he was a pimp selling girls bodies. There’s something unique about the fact that he is also a kid and the show perfectly portrays him slowly realizing just how big and serious the situation he got himself into, and how much it hurt other people. Honestly when Minhee found out it was him I was surprised by how it opened my eyes, he stopped looking badass and more sad, pathetic almost. Which is so realistic too how someone would be in that situation, especially a kid. Sobbing and panicked because he knows prison is very real and very possible. When all he wanted was money for college.

Well these girls were not coersed..they weren't manipulated into prostitution..they choose to do that and went looking for a pimp or someone to get them clients and protection..it was for money and no material things..that's it..they weren' t innocent little girls who didn't know what they were getting into.

He was not the one selling them, he was the one offering them the security service. The other girls still continued to sell themselves even without the security.

Not gonna lie Minhee's boyfriend going with his gang to the Karaoke bar was so freaking cool lol they were really cool in the police station too sadly I think they were removed from school. Edit- I know what they did was wrong but with sadly I mean he and all of his friends became criminals now isn't it sad that they ruined their lives?

Let’s not forget all the bad things this bully done to his girlfriend. He’s a complete hypocrite. He encouraged her to prostitute for him to buy him expensive things and got mad at jisoo for providing her a job. At the end of the day they deserved each other 🙄

School bullying, sex trafficking, misogyny, socioeconomic inequality, juvenile delinquency - this show has it all and covers all these issues so well.

This show is hella good, the writer did good with this, they show that people will do crazy things to earn best for themselves. But karma hits and you stay trapped just like the main guy’s bug, always trap (maybe that’s why in the end they showed the bug). He wanted to live a normal life so he took a different path which basically ruined him and the main girl too because of her parents. The main characters are not good people but they are not bad either, but they’re still the bad guys. Because of them people died and their choices. But this is reality to many students and when it comes to sex trafficking and needing to earn money. They’re the representation of reality.

I can't imagine running now... Having made the life choices they made, but I can understand why at the same time realize the bigger consequences which is that their reality can not be something they can escape now. Most definitely, the next season it will be a whole different show with an even darker and more serious atmosphere. Jisoo Oh saying "You think my life is a game?!" Just adds to the seriousness of it all now that they have to do this.

the car on fire scene reminds me so much of the end of the f***ing world, very interesting to see how both of these shows radiate big bonnie & clyde energy in the modern times with different kind of plots.

This show was phenomenal!! And so is this edit!!!!!

imma say it. minhee mourned mr.lee’s death more than jisoo did. she genuinely grieved over his passing and in the end, wanted to turn herself in. his death was her ultimatum and her stepping stone was to finally confess to the police. she had a great character development and i stand by her to the end. To everyone saying “Jisoo” protected her, gave her security, compensated her and whatever, in the end what did he do? an accidental death, but he picked up her phone and left her to die. She also suffered panic attacks (what? but because she herself in that position? everyone keep in mind, Jisoo has his ways with words and it slowly turns into manipulation. Remember, his goal is to make money, he’s profitting from her. Disregard the security from Mr.Lee, Jisoo is starting what he’s finishing, money. Minhee is just another chess piece.) and the amount of pain and trauma that was inflicted in her was beyond depressing. In my opinion, I hope Jisoo falls to his death, the same way he did to Minhee.

No one forced Minhee to sell her body all Jisoo did was provide security while she was doing it. What manipulation are you talking about? He literally forced her to quit because if she hadn’t her panic attacks would’ve gotten worse and worse. And even after all that she CHOSE to go back and get her job which then led to Jisoo getting kidnapped. All the pain she endured was in part her own fault as well. Funny how you call out the Jisoo, but not Gyeri who was actually playing with their lives like a game.

This was an amazing edit for an amazing drama! Honestly, I've never had so much of an emotional and physical reaction to a drama before. The actors were perfect and I was so invested in the characters that I was genuinely terrified with them. If you haven't watched this drama yet, definitely do, as long as you can handle how dark it can be.

I had never truly watched a haunting kdrama until i watched this one. the way the characters and plot were portrayed was so beautiful but at the same time so frightening and real. truly a work of art.

Penta XTP he wasn’t. He ran a security service to protect them. He would organise pick ups and make people join and he would protect them didn’t he? He had no bad intentions and protected them when it was someone who had bad intentions of doing something to a sex worker.

this series is just so goooood and the actors really fit their characters. Every episode, you empathize each one of them and starts to understands them. Hoping for season 2 🤍💗👍

Honestly, I can’t stop watching this edit, it’s so good !!! It made me watch the series and now every time i miss it i come back to this edit.

i am SOOO impressed by kim donghee, so crazy he was just acting in ateen two years ago... he really has improved so much in such a short amount of time

istg that was the best most INSANE kdrama i've ever watched...finna make my dad watch it bc he's been getting into korean movies and tv a lot lately

Extracurricular was honestly one of the best shows I've ever seen! A lesser kdrama would have had the script being more annoyingly explanatory, with no depth or belief in the viewers intelligence. This was the opposite, the actors could more freely act without having to say every word they are thinking, it feels so much more realistic and you get way more invested in the story. Also the fact that the characters are so multi faceted, nobody's completely good or evil. That reminds me of Breaking Bad. You feel weird rooting for someone when they go and do something bad. That is an excellent drama, making the viewers feel involved on a deeper level. I truly hope it gets the recognition it deserves!

THIS SERIES IS DARK BUT REALLY GOOD THIS IS THE BEST KDRAMA EVER, EVEN WITHOUT THOSE FAMOUS ARTIST THEY NAILED IT. IT TACKLES ALL ABOUT SOCIAL ISSUES THIS IS DAMN GOOD

Lol 😂😂 After seeing this edit I don't feel like I should watch it. Life is pretty hard itself and I don't think I want to voluntarily feel depressed for days after I finish watching this dark series. But please do tell me if this series is worth all the sadness and depression (no sarcasm intended)

Aayansh Bruh, it’s not sad and depressing at all. It’s a dark suspenseful thriller that makes you QUESTION RIGHT AND WRONG. The MCs are the “villains” so you see from their perspective. Have you seen Breaking Bad?

Aayansh the drama is not depressing at all, shows how hard it is for Korean students to pay their school and stuff and makes you realize that even if you have good intentions, nothing is worth more than your life, not even studies.

this was probably my favorite kdrama I've seen thus far. I loved the storyline. I loved all the plot twists. I loved the suspense. I loved the acting for a high school drama. everything about it was extraordinary. I hope there will be a season 2 - they really left us with a cliffhanger at the end of season 1!

This show was top notch I can't find anything else that was soooooo good at picking up emotion and putting you in there point of view, other shows it just feels like your watching

Because of this edit i wathched this. Why? BC in this drama i ll see my lovely actor. And then ur edit just take me soooo much. Soo i am just standing and crying plus feeling confused instead of sleeping. I spend all my time for this ART. I am really happy for that. It was really incredible. I cant even express my emotions. 😂😭😝

When I watched the first 3 episodes, I wanna give up on watching it because the characters (Jisoo and Gyuri) annoyed me a lot. There were a lot of flaws of their character and it was frustrating to watch. But this series is intriguing so I kept going. I ended up loving it. The actors and actresses portrayed their roles well. We will miss you, Mr. Lee :((. WE NEED SEASON 2!!

honestly their flaws were what made me sooo happy with the show(one reason of manyyy). like gosh they were so real! honestly pretty relatable in some ways too, despite having lives that a largeee majority of us shouldnt relate to. the writer is honestly a genius. regarding a season 2, im not sure if i want one or not T_T on one hand i want to leave it as an open ending and i dont want them to ruin it. but on the other hand there are too many unanswered questions. i could definitely live with the open ending for if jisoo and gyuri are alive and how they ended up, if they were caught or not. that i can live with because its quite interesting to leave it up to our interpretation. buT, where the heck did kitae go? is minhee alive? someone filled the hermit crabs water up too much, (jisoo) what does that mean in terms of him? hes overlowing with so much, is he jsut getting started with his life of crime with gyuri or something? im most curious on where kitae went tbh. also this drama was also meant to portray that your actions have consequences, regardless of your inital intention. yk? just my thoughts :)

Finished watching this yesterday and now i don’t know what to do. This drama is in some way same to the kdrama ”save me”. Creepy, realistic and hella good. Different from other kdramas.

This show was just so good. I can understand everybody in it. From Jisoo over Minhee and Gyuri. Every Character was written so perfekt and I cried so much at the end. I am so dissapointed that there isn't another season.

Cant wait for the season 2 !! It was so good and your edit is amazing !!! 😍😍

even this drama is so frustrating because of the characters, the message of it is an awareness for adults to know how surprising teenagers are (even the story is unrealistic).
