€20 for 24 hours sounds reasonable to me. I regularly pay €15 a night for me, my tent and my motorcycle to camp.

Great video. Funny episode at the camp site lol 😂 I bet you were glad to move on. Beautiful places by the water and history. So pretty I like a breeze when it’s hot.🥵 another episode of toilet gate lol that sounds very unpleasant. Poor Sammy in the dog house bless him 😩 there so placid though aren’t they. Look forward to next week and the next adventure.

Wonderful. You took a very similar route to us on this video. We have now driven back through the Pyrennes and starting our return slowly to Andulucia. And, its not summer anymore. We need some Andulucian sun. Take care.

Aire de services are not "camping sites" they are "parking sites". You are not officially allowed to put out chairs and tables as that is classed as camping.

We did think that, but it was exactly like all the other gated, pay at the front aires we had visited which works much more like a regular campsite. We would never dream of putting chairs and tables out in a regular aire. And she had furniture out too, so we think we must have upset her with a space she wanted. Who knows?

Fabulous vlog, we were like "wow €21 is so cheap" 😂 we're so used to paying more, but it was great to see how easy the Aires are to use. You're braver than me (Julia), I'm going nowhere near the black tank, especially with salami odours 🤢😂 safe travels Julia and Gary 💕

Those yellow circles were done in duck tape and each day they had to patch it up at levels where it could be removed by people we have some great photos of them from 2018 👍🏻

How interesting! I assumed it would have been paint!

The aire used to be right outside of the ramparts and cost €10. So quite expensive now. People can be so rude when emptying toilets when someone else is filling up. It doesnt take long to wait and is more considerate.

The Aire at Parking P1 right by the remparts also has no services and is much cheaper. It's on S4S.

Thank you for sharing. I will never miss going to Paris.. l went there a few years ago and was yelled at for standing under a very tiny awning during a really heavy rainstorm. Kindness is not part of their culture apparently.

Yes it was very odd but there are some strange people about. No it was funny about the toilet and this is what van life is like on the road. It’s realistic and down to earth. A great mix of content. I enjoy them very soothing on a Sunday evening. Safe travels.

Sounds cheap to me is 21 euro really too expensive?

Not for Carcassonne, it's the main aire at a massive tourist destination, but was in comparison to what we'd paid so far on the trip. We were then learning how much more expensive things were in the south! Thanks 🙏

€21 and you think that’s a bit much 😂 try £40 in the uk hence why I sold mine

We tried doing the uk but France is a different entity Lots of aires and some were only €9 with electric

I love the game! For some reason my kids don't so I sometimes have to bribe them to play with me 🤣 they have loads of extension boxes too which we don't have, just the original. Ha ha I wonder what it would be? All French names sound too nice.

Put simply your lack of research and local knowledge is the problem. You will find that the local municipal campsites are excellent. We lived alternate months in the High Aude , we learnt the local dialects and pronunciation it varies from one side of a valley to the other. A small effort is greatly appreciated by that locals. We had a glorious ten years there. Brexit screwed it up for everyone. You wonder why you are not exactly welcomed. You have to remember it's their home.

Lucky you Melvyn. Sounds like a lovely ten years. Trust me we attempt out French wherever we go and have been (as have our children) learning the language for years. We simply pulled into the carpark and sat though. But thanks for your take.
