Spinosaurs are a topic I have actively avoided talking about for years. For one big reason, Spinosaurus is probably one of the most fought about topics in Paleontology! It seems like what we think we know about these animals changes at least every six months!
Many other content creators have agreed with me that because of this consistent change, as well as how much Spinosaurus fans like to fight about it, that it just isn't worth the headache to talk about this group of Theropods.
(I attempted to warn Clint's Reptiles to avoid talking about this, so he responded by making an in depth video about the Phylogeny of this family...)
But anyway, a new species of Spinosaur was recently described! So I decided this seems like a good time to go against my better judgment and join the fight by making my first Spinosaurid video!
If you would like to check out the Spinosaur phylogeny video on Clint's Reptiles, check out the link below!
• We Shouldn't Talk Abou...
And if you wanna see the hilarious short by Lindsay Nikole where she talks about why we sane content creators hate talking about Spinosaurus, check out the link below! (WARNING EXPLICIT CONTENT)

The spinosaurus would build log rafts and sit on them. They would use their back as a sail, and were capable with celestial navigation. They were the first ones to the Americas.

My theory, which is mine, about the spinosaurus, which I am about to say, is this: the spinosaurus is flat on one end, bulges in the middle, and is flat on the other end but in a different way than the front.

I know you don’t like talking abt Spinosaurus, but it is my second favorite dinosaur. For me it is representative of why science is so cool. Good science changes as evidence is found, and videos may become out of date quickly, but that just makes it even more cool imo. New discoveries, theories, and reconstructions just means we are learning more about our world.

Conical teeth puncture and hold. Serrated teeth slice through and leave the carnivore with one bite out of a prey animal that got away. On land the predator can track down the escaped but wounded prey more easily than in that water.

On the topic of fans of spinosaurs being very passionate. I agree with you however, I think it's a very small group of people like this. I say this because I wanted to specialize my career in paleontology so I am "one of" these people the truth is after following this group of dinosaurs closer than a CIA agent following your browser history, I can say pretty confidently that our understanding of this group of dinosaurs is limited and not something to fight over I on behalf of the spinosaurid community actually incurage you to make more content on these animals and to just ignore the rabid fans of these animals online. You and nearly every other paleo KZreadr I know of on this platform is amazing and really helps me find modern paleontological resources. So please don't let the internet dictate what you post

I absolutely love talking about spinosaurids because of how unique they are. I do understand why people don’t like talking about it though… because of how little we know and how the community can easily get heated, it makes sense. I did really love this video though! It’s such a fun topic to me and thats why spinosaurus has always been my favourite! The story of spinosaurus is also very sad and interesting! The amount of science destroyed to time and unnecessary destruction is incredibly sad but serves as a reminder as to why we can’t let it happen. Cannot wait to see what else we discover in my lifetime!! I think I’ll subscribe now because this is something I’m really passionate about. Being a palaeontologist is one of the fields I’m considering pursuing! biology in general is awesome, alive and dead! ❤
