Why are people buying the CZ P01?

Спорт

For the last year and a half, the CZ 75 P01 Omega has been my main carry gun. In this video, we've going to do a complete overview and I'm going over why I'm no longer going to be carrying it.

Correction - we have the aluminum frame version. I was mistaken. However it is still heavier than a polymer frame. For anyone wondering it is also a T. rex Arms holster, not a tier 1 concealed. We use both regularly!

Da/Sa pistols are the absolute best carry pistols. More people should be carrying them and more companies need to prioritize them over strikers. Safer to carry, better triggers, teaches proper firearm fundamentals from re holstering to DA trigger control. And have been proven reliable for a hundred years. I swear strikers are making newer generations of shooters into complacent button clickers with no regards for safety first and foremost. It's all about "speed" and immediate gratification. Thumb safety too slow, DA trigger too slow, metal frame is too heavy... It's getting pathetic honestly. "Speed is fine, But accuracy is final." - Wyatt Earp

He is correct 👍🏻, also if a lot remember all the big channels for years used strikers for carry , then in the last 2 plus years a lot moved back to DA/SA decockers for exactly the reasons above. Trigger and safety or decocker is all just training. Comes natural same with DA first shot. Keep up the fire. Hammered fired all day. 🇺🇸🫡

Aluminum frame, 2 oz heavier than a G19, g10 grips can be sanded, trigger pull can be fixed for 50 dollars and its not as hardnto shoot as you are portraying. The reason I have and carry one; shoots flat, ergos are better than glock, sights are great, perfect size for my hands and it looks good. The CZ 75 series is absolutely awesome, but some of the complaints are valid. Really my only gripe is the lack of slide exposure to grab onto when you need to manipulate it. Hammer fire as a whole gives you a better trigger press, and better safety systems. DA has the long heavy pull which takes some initial training, but the SA is amazing. I prefer the 1911 SAO myself, but a P226 DA/SA is my runner up option. At the end of the day, you should be carrying the gun that is going to give you the best chances to let you perform at your highest level of training. If it's a striker fired tupperware gun, use that. If it's an old school 1911 that can register on the Richter scale if dropped, carry that. At the end of the day, shootability and reliability are the two most important attributes of a firearm, everything else can be dealt with. You should be so good with your gun that you can practically call your shots within a small standard deviation because pistols are pistols and they lack stopping power. Being able to be extremely accurate with your pistol is paramount should you have to take a precise shot. Honestly, I think you found a flaw in your training and you should make yourself learn that gun and that system to an instinctual level. Get another 500 rounds, go do a lot of dry fire and live fire and come back and make an updated video. I would also put it back into the carry rotation and force yourself to carry it, because then you are requiring yourself to learn the system. Learn to run SAO, DAO, and DA revolvers. Learn to run DAO, SAO, DA/SA and striker fired pistols. Learn to run pump action shotguns, bolt action rifles, etc. so you are at least moderately proficient with them and can utilize them if necessary at a reasonably medium to high skill level... and master your gear of choice. There is no guarantee we are going to be fighting with our weapon, or weapon of choice. Because of that, you should be a student of weapons craft, while mastering your gear - Clint Smith (Thunder Ranch)

More people should be carrying double/single guns. People do not train enough, especially on the basic safety fundamentals, to justify carrying a PDP or Glock with a super slick trigger. P-07 or P-01 are certainly in my future for carry. The 01 is interesting in that it passed its NATO testing and got approved, hence why CZ puts NSN’s on the side. pretty neat history

Cajun Gunworks for a great smooth DA/SA trigger. I did that to my standard P-01, also they installed a red dot on mine. My generation didn't have striker fired firearms until Glock Gen 1. I can't really say I get the trigger thing. Most striker triggers are just mushier single action triggers. A DA/SA offers you a heavier, more deliberate first shot that's more appropriate for defense or duty and then all followup shots are miles better than even good striker triggers. Yes, you have to train, but I think you have to do extensive training for virtually any platform. I do have respect for you acknowledging that it's safer for you to use the tool you want to train with the most for protection, though.

the CZ P-O1 is amazing! Unfortunate it didn't work for you and initially I almost stopped watching, but you stated a few things you didn't like and blamed your comfort and training time not specifically the P-01. It takes effort and desire and is way different than striker, but the ergo's, DA/SA ability to manipulate the hammer for manipulation, and being heavy metal is why I am a big fan. I also really like hammer pistols and shoot them frequently. I carry both striker and my P-01, but I dry fire the DA a lot plus training with it or another hammer pistol nearly every training session. Glad you still like and enjoy it at the range. Maybe in time you will enjoy the DA/SA carry option be well.

The herrington comp has a fatal flaw that it can come unscrewed and not allow your slide to reciprocate. I have a griffin thread barrel and dimpled it on both sides to allow the set screws on the comp to lock in but no matter how much lock tight i put on the set screws, red or blue, they always back out under recoil after a couple hundred rounds. Agree with a comment below about “not having enough time to train”… yet it’s unfortunate to say the least that’s probably the view with a lot of newer gun owners these days; just begging for accidents and negligent discharges.
