During a conflict with Germany, French manufacturer Renault (I think) manufactured and provided tanks on a profit free basis. Maybe a new law where manufacturers would provide profit free weaponry would be welcome. If the companies did not profit as much from wartime manufacture, they would be less likely to welcome conflict. Even having former employees running defense departments would not able to help them.

Long-term, Russia's war will lead to the West becoming more well-armed than in decades with large forces forward deployed right onto Russia's doorstep. And all of this could've been avoided if Russia could just accept that Ukraine is a free country, but like the thieves they are they just couldn't stop themselves.

Sanctions aren’t against food production in Iran. That is likely being done by the Iranian government to its own people in order to increase funding of weapons and support to proxies around the region.
