haha tru tru! cheapest way is to learn to make them, as you're mostly paying for the labour that goes into making a batch
@meganrogers7420

Making them yourself as Brooki mentioned is much cheaper, another tip is to use sun flower seed flour (sun flour) instead of almond to reduce the price. It's hard to find and not cheap to buy, but its super easy to make. Just labour intensive, on top of the macarons themselves. Pumpkin seed flour (often sold as protein powder, or make your own) works too! The taste is just a little different.

I get it, they’re like art. They’re not what I choose as a snack, but I’d consider giving a cute little box with a few in it as a gift. It’s like the fancy chocolates that you buy that look like tiny statues.
Those just labor of love along with crossiants 😄
They are the definition of a “labor of love.” If your heart isn’t it to win, they will not turn out right. If I’m ever in Australia, your bakery is one of my top priorities!
If a bakery charges a lot for something, trust that it was very expensive and labor intensive to make😂
They are candies of heaven ❤
Thank you for the explanation! I love baking in my spare time, but it looks so s exhausting and rewarding to do it full-time
I make macarons, and it's very hard. It takes forever because you have to make sure you dont overmix or undermix it. You have to leave them out long enough, make sure you cook them long enough, and its very time-consuming
You are such a Hard Working Woman, Your Macrons look incredibly delicious and awesome Brooke. ❤️
They are lovely to look at and are decidedly a labor of love. But I’ll happily pass these by for your regular cookies. ♥️

Same. Macarons don’t taste good to me
Quality pay for quality food. That's really all the reason I needed.
The pink macarons with the sprinkles on top are so cute
That makes sense.
They are worth every penny. You are an inspiration to a hobby baker like myself. You give great ideas . I love baking. Some people might think it's stressful or too much work but I think that if you love what you do it's not work but a passion.
Its sucks there so expensive I love macarons 🤤
I always wondered why croissants were so expensive, then I learned to make them. I will never complain about the price again. Baking is a labor of love but some sweets are just super labor intensive! I’m just a home baker but I find shortcuts where I can all the time. Brownies are the easiest and so delicious, and chocolate chip cookies certainly aren’t hard, but, much quicker, easier, and so much less work when you make a tray bake or a cookie cake instead and don’t have to chill the dough, scoop and roll them! 🤣 I also just don’t roll them anymore when I do make them. It’s fine 🤣 I also only make drop biscuits now. Especially when I’m making more than one thing, these shortcuts are so helpful.
Never tried a macaron but they look so pretty 😍
Time is money and money is time! They look amazing ❤❤

Just I love everything wath you making, I tried one time making macarons but unsuccessful,
The amount of negative comments there... I start to understand, why they are hard to find in Europe now))) I do love blue cheese ones, and still eat anywhere I can find))) my favorite ones are actually improper ones, with doubled filling)
I also have a dream to be a bakery owner and you will make me to do that
I see the work you’re putting in. It doesn’t go unnoticed ❤ hopefully your business continues to thrive ❤
Because they required a learned perfected and honed skill, they also compromised a very expensive ingredients. they are sensitive and you do an amazing job and you have no reason to explain that to anybody❤
Those look absolutely divine!❤
Yep, love the explanations....all true!

I absolutely love macarons 😭😭
They are my all time favorite treat! Unfortunately, the cost (which I totally appreciate) is the reason I rarely purchase them. Please keep doing what you are doing! Your work is beautiful! 💓💓💓
Because its a fancy French pastry. It's not a cake mix from the box. I hate when people make business owners feel guilty for reasonable prices just because they don't understand how life works
I have yet to make them because of the work and how delicate they are. Humidity is a factor. If it's too high they'll be sticky. I don't want deal with this.

I made them 3 times and I can agree with all of your statement. one miss and I lose the whole batch so no I’m not making them again lol
My favorite recipe is making ugly macaroons with 0 effort. Once you realize it's just a regular ass merangue cookie with some frosting or ganache, it gives you the freedom to make UGLY cookies that taste AMAZING. It doesn't need to be complicated! It's just almond flour with egg whites and frosting! That being said, pretty macaroons just look so good.

@@Bellabear_24 same thing. Both are meringue cookies. The word for macaronswasnt used until 2004 or something, seriously, look it up and how common it was used. Macaroni, the pasta has similar name origin because it is a dough, but not a meringue like Almont or coconut flour.

Worth
I remember when I was in 8th grade we did a Quebec City trip for the French club and my friend ordered 10 macarons, but they only came in packs of 12 or 9, and she panicked and ordered the 12. Spent 30 USD on macarons 😂
I tried making them one Christmas, I said never again 😂. They taste nice but I’ll leave it for the bake shops 😂
I spent six months learning how to make macarons for a bridal shower. In retrospect, it might’ve been cheaper for me to buy them at four dollars a cookie.
If check usaly price in home, then wil go 30-50 cent per macarons. If you do 50-75 them :)

They can, but the quality will worsen if you store it for that long. Sure, it's fine if you're storing it for your own consumption but for bakeries like this that sells them, it's not good to sell 'bad' or stale macarons.
@yaaaan6763
16 күн бұрын
Also, I wouldn't even recommend keeping them at room temp for a whole week. Unless you live somewhere with negative temperature/in winter, the filling has a high possibility to melt and leak if not stored in a cool place.
I Miss you so much
Okay but if they have a low shelf life doesn't it make sense to make them at a *buyable* price so ppl actually buy them instead of them going bad?😭

I bet those people get their macaroon from homegoods shelf that expiration date of 2031
Biggest misconception is that macaroons take an immense amount of skill literally learned to make them in 7th grade and then when I was in culinary 9-11th grade we made them once a year three years in a row for our restaurant definitely labor intensive but if you’re a quick learner and have good measurements and not over mixing your good
Can I buy your cookies on line?
I've never had one before
She's right they are hard to make and you ruin quite a few batches until you learn how to make them correctly. They're really delicious to eat though.
But what you do with all those egg whites if not use them
I have never eaten one because they are so expensive. If I am going to spend $2.50 for a cookie, I am going for the delicious chocolate chip.. 😅
How much do they cost?
❤
We're in a recession lol. At this point just give me the ugly cookies you messed up on, aka the "waste" and ill be on my merry way! Who said they had to look good? If they taste good, thats good 4 me 😅

Thats what you think but customers are very needy and entitled. I've had customers eat half of the product I sell and come back to return the other half or demand an exchange because the product was not up to their standards.
I understand the price but after spending so much on them from bakeries to be very disappointed I stopped. I can’t risk the cost when it’s rare to find ones that are actually good
I knew somewhat these cookies are expensive, before I got to this information video about the macaroons.Of why they’re so expensive.
ALL OF THAT AND YET THEY TASTE MID
They are not always expensive, maybe at like a bakery but i go to a cafe that has all their cakes made and brought in, including macaroons and they are very fairly priced

Macaroons are a Luxury; in my opinion. People in the United States are used to inexpensive Donuts and other Baked goods. Also; Americans are used to buying inexpensive Chocolates; not understanding that a Quality Chocolate Bar Or Chocolate Covered Nuts,Jellies,Creams and Truffles take hard work to create if Quality Chocolate was used to create the Product. My Father has a Small Chocolate Company; we had Hand Dipped Chocolates, Chocolate Bars and other Novelties… that were comparable to the Quality of Chocolate from Lindt. I sure do miss working with him.
