So as someone who did not grow up in a religious Jewish home, seeing the price tag of Tefillin was a shock to me until I started watching your videos and researching it, I came to terms with it and wanted to have kosher Mezuzot and tefillin. I recently bought my first set which should last me for the rest of my life. Mine are Gassot, called "Tifaret" as the sub type which ran me $850 from a company called HaSofer in Israel.

Thank you for spreading your knowledge and wisdom to the world. Which Ksav did you specialize in? Is that what is in your own personal Tefillin ?

Is writing tefillin harder than writing a sefer torah in some ways? Obviously it doesn't take as long, but the ksav is smaller

Yes also the fact Tefillin need to be written in sequence.

Can you say something about the (what appear to be) loose threads sticking out of the bayit (rosh). I wondered about trimming them but heard a lecture on them being important for the (satan) yetzer hara to concentrate on. Comment?
