Why are Disney Movies Losing So Much Money?

After Strange World and Wish did so bad I think people are writing off Disney completely. I wouldn’t go that far but it’s clear they need to step it up. Pretty much everyone sees them as the weaker option for animation these days.
It doesn’t help that the movies cost the GDP of a small African country. How are you still budgeting your yearly animated release at $200 million man?
My point is Disney would be a lot braver with their animated movies if they didn’t risk losing hundreds of millions of dollars with each one.

Right now I think inside out 2 is the best movie in 2024 other then lightyear and strange world

in todays money disney would spend 31mln to produce snowwhite and have 8 bln box office. and all while it was not so big animation studio, not a corporation.

I should ask you, because my point was clearly that even adjusted for inflation those budgets were a lot less that today

@@SuperMakki yes but consider the size of company. Their ability to generate wealth and. back then, Disney invested all they had to make cartoons. And today they do the same. The problem is that there is no genius like Walt Disney behind them. so they just parasitize on what he has created.
