@@DeathScepter Palpatine never wanted any of his apprentices to overthrow him, no matter what he told them. It was always going to be him. In Legends and in Canon. He wanted to be the immortal emperor. He never taught them everything he knew. He probably taught Vader more than Dooku or Maul, and even in the armor Vader's raw dark side power was leagues ahead of Maul and probably Dooku too. But Palpatine never allowed him to get stronger than him. Purposely made his cybernetics weak to Force Lightning.

@@TheDevilofDallas666 I recall reading at some point that Palpatine foresaw Vader's defeat on Mustafar and allowed it to happen to ensure Vader would never be strong enough to overthrow him.

Like Obi-Wan said you have allowed this dark lord to twist your mind till now you have become the very thing you swore to destroy.

Facts it’s ironic too cuz the Jedi were so blind that they couldn’t see that they were serving the government and senate and not the galaxy why is partly why anakin turned (obviously padme was his main reason)

I can see it now for the FIRST time EVER. The treachery was everywhere in Coruscant. No wonder Anakin was sooo unhinged and unbalanced in his thinking. Currently, rereading ROTS novel. I will enjoy it more now. Thank you for enhancing my reading enjoyment

I read the Stover novel before I saw the movie and was like "damn...". Kinda sad we barely saw Vader in the temple or delved deeper into Anakin and Obi-Wan's internal thoughts. I wish we could get that 4 hour supercut but I doubt the deleted scenes can be reworked even if they brought back the cast and deaged them. Idk. Worth exploring but I wouldn't drop $300M making it happen unless they know they can make bank on the re-release.

@@TheDevilofDallas666 I too read the book first. I really loved, loved the exploration of Mace Windu and his crazed love for the Republic. He was fanatical. Also, loved Stover’s description of Obi-Wan being the best swordsman to beat Grievous. The book is utter perfection

Wish they just added another few seconds here and there showing Anakin nodding off and snapping awake from battlefield nightmares. Other problem with the movie, compare to the novel and RPG. For the movie goers they blended the two over the top duels happen at the same time, where Mustfar is a couple of day's trip from the Core world. Other points, a.) TESB it shown Luke & Leia had an empathic/ telepathic bond. b.) The RPG had a mechanic system on how to run telepathy & empathic abilities. c.) Jedi/Sith ability Battle Mind allow Jedi to mental link up and dog pack attacks/ defense during combat. d.) in the 1990's EU novels, force users/Jedi that have close emotional relationship can Feel their friends/family from 10's of thousands of light years away. Anakin was in screaming pain and sense of abandonment, his emotions and thoughts reached out to the only person he really loved. Anakin drag Padme down into death with him, then the respirator turn on. As shown with editing in RotS, Padme stop breathing as soon Vader started to breath. In the novel, Anakin died on the table.

The only time in the movie they start to show the cracks is when anikan tells her she sounds like a separatist and in the beginning when she says love has blinded you cheesy comment. Shit doesn't hit the fan until they meet on mustafar

@@alexhernandez90210 In two of the original treatments Lucas came up with, one had Luke and Leia being toddlers and the first half of the movie was basically Anakin had already become Vader and was murdering Jedi across the galaxy with Palpatine and Obi-Wan finds out it's him doing it. They fight, he loses. Basically the same ending. In another, he thinks Padme is cheating on him with Obi-Wan. Honestly I'd like to see those two adapted in animation.

Leia was being tracked by a bounty hunter cause she resemble a senator from Naboo named Padme that went missing at the end of the Clone War. But it was later added the Leia had/has an adopted sister named Winter where both young girls receive gene therapy to look like twin sisters. Hayden had a hard press to mimic the speech of Jones Vader cantor, Mark's whiny Luke, follow with Carry's Leia being center of command with her sharp tongue.

@@krispalermo8133 when you put it that way, I believe hayden got it. But can you cite proof about a comic containing the words “Naboo” and “Padme” any time before 1996? Edit: Zahn created Winter. I just wanted to go back and read that comic.

The biggest question that bugged everyone's mind Would the whole interaction still be the same outcome if Obi-Wan wasn't there?

@@sebastianolvera6923 In regards to the novels RotS, Anakin used Mind Trick/Effect Minds to calm her fears telling her there was nothing to worry about a few times before the end. It was All within the Wording. Another problem Anakin had Force Shout/Scream which is a darkside ability shown in the original shorts of the Clone War cartoons and comic books fight with Venture, and novels leading up to RotS. A frustrating Yell would have shook Padme causing a miscarriage.

@@sebastianolvera6923 From a long-time nerd being 47years old grew up on Star Wars and D&D wargaming. My collective gaming groups agreed what would have FLOP how RotS turn out. Anakin just leaves the Jedi council, works as a full-time bodyguard for Padme on her diplomacy senator missions. By our world current standers, Anakin was in the frontlines way too long without down time to destress from combat fatigue. Also the GRA grand republic army had many branches not lead by the Jedi. Who had little trust of the Jedi council or Clones.

I love how it's now canon that Vader was actually on Mustafar for like 2 or 3 days before Obi-Wan showed up. Slowly turning back into Anakin, almost, but by the time Obi-Wan shows up, Vader has taken over.

I mean, your friend shouldn't show up unannounced and be alone with your girl. Of course that is suspicious behavior.

I've been watching your videos for years, and you've had some some good ones, and this was your best one. Brilliant, subtle, multidimensional analysis. Please, more like this, it has helped me appreciate it much greater. Please do one on how Palpatine says, "I have the power to save the one you love!" And then a minute later, "only one could cheat death, but perhaps if we combine our efforts, we can discover the secret." And how Palpatine was well and truly beaten, really was afraid as he was on the knife-edge of death, saying "Please DON'T!!" and then Mace completely lost all composure as Anakin cut his hand off, completely gave up in that moment, though he did manage to stand there for like 10 seconds, unlike Yoda who was pushed back across the room from Palp's lightning

Something i noticed the more star wars content talking about anakin is truly the evil darth sidious is capable of, anakin is a soldier and protector at heart. Palp's manipulations of anakin made him not trust the one person he should have padme

yoda did say the dark side clouds everything or something. this probably also applied to anakin post Order 66. now that he eliminated everyone. he is out of his mind and cannot think clear anymore. he never even expected obi wan to be there cause his mind was that clouded, further sensed obi wan was there for anything other than a peaceful resolution also (head canon)

I think Padme would have turned Anakin back to the light if obi wan had not intervened

No way, after he had killed those kids and executed the separatist leaders and enjoyed it, he was too far gone. He was steeped in the dark side.

In the grip of the paranoia of the dark side and consumed with thoughts of betrayal, madness and stupidity becomes Anakin in respect to how he re3acts to his wife's arrival and Kenobi stowing onboard her ship.

Yeah seems in the end Padme was the ONLY one NOT betraying someone. From what's known an Kenobi being whom he was PROBABLY an very highly unlikely Obi was using ANY malice at all... Gotta remember that's a VERY Dark side thing for a JEDI to do. An probably would be riskier for Obi Wan dabbling in Dark side tendencies then Anakin an his Attachment issues

Facts obi wan is also dealing with a Sith Lord at this point too it’s not just anakin anymore like he said at the beginning of ROTS “Sith Lords are our speciality” Jedi have no love for sith which is why obi wan constantly used a dark side move to kill maul in phantom menace and used another one to stop anakin. Now that he disarmed him, his Jedi senses are coming g back as well as his brotherly feeling towards anakin knowing full well he can’t strike him so being the Jedi he was, he left it up to the force and fate for anakin/vader to live or not

Padme was that rook that quietly put u in check as a distraction, for that pawn that advanced and promoted to a queen (Obi-Wan Kenobi) to get checkmate (Luzhin defense)

Aniken was very untrusting of other men around Padme I’m reading the Trawn Acendancy trilogy again he’s jealous of Trawn when they have Padme around

Anakin was twisted and corrupted. Evil. Endless circle of treachery. Anakin betrayed Mace,Jedi betrayed Anakin(so he thought),clones betrayed Jedi,Anakin wanted to betray Palpatine. Obi-Wan didn't think that way. He stow away on her ship because she refused to tell him where Anakin went. Love story between Revan and Bastila is wonderful. May the Force be with you too. I am 100% convinced that Padmè could’ve talked him down if Obi-wan didn’t stand there like a bitch out for blood

Theres also the fact obi-wan came with the full intention to kill anakin after seeing awaking kill youngling the thought of mercy never entered his mind witch is sad as anakin at that point is hurt, lost and confused and had obi-wan had given padme a holo message of forgiving him and and padme's love in that moment might have tiped the scales twords redemption but over all balance could never have been achieved till the jadi order was massacred simply do to the corruption it would be a interesting point to play with honestly as I have no idea what would unfold had obi-wan and padme redeemed him there.

Had the deleted scenes of her helping form the rebel alliance, then palpatine saying she was hiding something. It feeds his anger that she truely betrayed him

@@jasonleetaiwan she was kick butt queen, then as a senator she negotiated aggressively. Then she was sidelined in 3. It would have shown her characters growth. To quote her daughter, it’s not always about jumping in an swing and blowing something up

Everyone knew the war was coming to an end, everyone was vying for power and control, willing to backstab to get it. I partially don’t blame anakin for his turn and thinking that everyone was trying to backstab him. It’s sad really, palpatine was the only person that really made anakin feel like he was on his side. The best thing for him would’ve been to get off coruscant until the war was over

I am starting to think that Anakin was not the chosen one, but that Luke was. Anakin was so weak and selfish and the slightest thing set him off. His constant turmoil is the mark of a weak minded person who is unable to cope with life’s challenges. He turned to evil and got everything he asked for, but with an evil twist.
