Anxiety with diabetes is a very hard road to go, and depression usually follows. Many focus on the physical problems but for me the mental is far worse to manage.

@@chrisfink7740 As far as reversing it I’m not sure what you mean. Often you can reverse it’s severity by diet and exercise but most people do not really understand diet well enough to have a good effect. I started with understanding how my body processes foods then I was able to better understand how to create my diet. I stay with whole foods and mostly fats and proteins. I stay away from most sugars and refined carbohydrates but cheat from time to time. One of the biggest yet hardest things I did was eliminate trans fats, that had a major impact on my cholesterol keeping me in the safe zone. But it is really hard because trans fat is in everything. With all of that I still get tired and just worn out. I have always exercised all of my life by a schedule but no more, it would just run me down and get me real sore for days, sometimes weeks. So now I go by feel. I’m not sure if it’s my age (66), diabetes, or anxiety and stress, probably everything contributes to it so that may not be much help. On a positive note my A1c has been the same for going on 12 years just using metformin.

I seem to get most hungry when my sugars are high. I only take insulin but when I say "fatigue" I don't mean tired. My body seems to just start locking up and shutting down my muscles, tired seems to follow within an hour or so. My body aches when it gets to that fatigue stage and I know I am done for the day. Like the tank runs dry. I do get bouts of anxiety also because I seem I am going so slow or slow motion trying to meet deadlines at work. Have been trying b12.

This is why I’m headed to my endocrinologist on Monday. While I do a lot, I’ve never had this much fatigue. I asked for a vitamin that wouldn’t conflict with synthroid (thyroid removed for tumors in 2015). He had me make an appointment ASAP. I may watch this twice tonight.

I think my docs ran every possible test. My triglycerides are rising again and my blood pressure is higher than usual. A1C is 6.7, which is .3 up from April 2021. Basically, I’m not eating right or sleeping enough from too many work stressors. True. I did get a pat on the back for being a very active 70 year old. But, I still need to find a better balance. And Dr. Ergin, I do have a copy of “The Ultimate Diabetes Book.” Midterm grading is finished; I need to actually read the book now. Thanks!

The severe lack of exercise, the lack of consistently of it and the lack planning of meals around it cause and enable illnesses to develop and grow. SugarMD provides excellent information and natural solutions in the form of natural supplements like Ceylon Cinnamon, etc. As well as providing what diabetes is for the everyday person to understand. Thank You! I put the work in everyday to keep my levels under 100. Intermittent fasting is critical as well. Be consistent.

As a result, I am on a lot of medications, including a Statin, Diuretic, and Beta blocker, and being treated for Depression, so am on Anti-depressants. All of these medications, I feel, are causing my horrible fatigue and tiredness. I wake up in the morning feeling tired and fatigued, yet with a glucose level within normal limits. I'm baffled and will be speaking to my Endocrinologist about all of this. I Thank you, doctor, for all of this information, as I found it very helpful.

I am 75 yes old. Diabetic for 22 years. On metformin for the last 10-13 years. Not overweight and usually pretty energetic. The pandemic had some effect on me, but not major. I found myself unable to do the things I have always done ..feeling exhausted! I did have a prolapsed bladder (I had uterine cancer in 2007 and the gynocologist said the wall they built was collapsing on itself.) That has been resolved and I am finally pain free. My exhaustion could have had a lot to do with that pain, but my b12 was also low enough to put me on a series of shots. I have just had my 4th of 13 and I have noticed 2 very big differences 1) I am getting a good night's rest and getting up early like I used to. 2) I am not sleeping all the time. I do rest during the day...lie down and put my feet up but I don't always feel the need to fall asleep like before. I do think the shots are helping me.

Excellent information. I had to stop taking Berberine because I was losing weight. I am already underweight due to suffering from Rhabdomyleoisis a few years ago. I am taking Benfotiamine, but am concerned whether that may cause weight loss. I was without medical insurance for a long time, but now I have it. I just came back from lab work, and am awaiting the results. I have a doctors appointment next week. I am looking forward to getting back to good health soon. Any advice will be welcome. Thank you

Thank you Dr. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about a year ago. My main issue now is fatigue. I went back to my Doctor and my fasting blood sugar was 6.3. My glucose levels never get out if whack, so I'm wondering why I'm so fatigued.. Im on Metfotmin. Atrovastatin, and Jardiance.. Its good to know that Stating drugs may cause fatigue. I may stop taking it for awhile. My cholesterol was really good during my last visit on 4/29/22... Anyone else have suggestions? I don't know what else to do. I'm 5'10 187lbs.. I exercise regularly, but have not been able to for the past week due to fatigue.
