Is it that strange that they don’t want a bunch of people mad at them for face mapping that isn’t quite up to watchers expectations. I think it’s wise to center it around a different protagonist.

Wouldn’t it be great if Ahsoka, and Ezra, and Luke, and Cal Kestis…all came together in the end to fight Thrawn and his forces? All of them at some point thinking they were the only ones! It could be a very emotional scene.

I mean we have been told Cal will appear in live action but we've not been told when it'll happen.

I remember loving those Heir to the Empire books and getting frustrated with the fact that we would never see some of those characters in live action. Ahsoka, obviously, was not one of those characters. There was Mara Jade, the miscellaneous clone Jedi guy, Leia and Han's twins. So much has changed since those books, so many new characters, some of which I'm not sure of what I think of. I do wonder how many more of these mysterious maps will we have to deal with in the continuing saga of Star Wars.

At this point, I'm still most fond of the observation that Sebastian Stan looks a lot like Mark Hamill. Even Stan himself said he'd love to work with Hamill on some means of combining the two for something. And, certainly, it'd make life easier for fitting deepfakes onto everything, since they do look so similar. The one and only catch is that Sebastian Stan stands at an even 6' feet tall, while Hamill is noted as being 5' 9" (which I think may be more correct for now, rather than at age thirty-some-odd).

I wish Ahsoka had stuck around Luke's new Jedi Academy and taught him how to dual wield like her style of lightsaber fighting. The Book of Boba Fett already confirmed that Luke had in his possession Yoda's green lightsaber and it would've been cool to see him wield it as a shoto paired with his longer green ROTJ saber.

I wish they would just recast Luke with a younger actor (Sebastian Stan ideally) so we can get some more Luke in some of these stories.

I think Rebels is a very important show that really goes into detail about the force and how it works, the purpose behind the fall of the Jedi order, etc.

I think Luke will definitely return in the mandoverse movies.... If luke do not come to the culminating battle in the upcoming movies then I will be in rage

I would love to see Luke Skywalker active in this story and others immediately. He and Anakin tie all of this together, as you also show in your videos. Without the Skywalker family, this just isn’t Star Wars to me or to the true fans. That’s why Mando has been failing lately. That and the appearance of LIZZO. The Deepfake technology they used for Luke in Book of Boba Fett was spectacular, and that’s the only way they should portray Luke moving forward. No replacement actors, no bad CGI, just the same Deepfake they used in Boba Fett! I was so happy to see my hero again and looking not a day older. He fit right in with the story and it would have been nice to see him fight some more like he did with those Death Droids in the season finale of Mando!!

Ahsoka is like Luke’s auntie. It’s a family affair. She’s also that family member that looks out for you but keeps things close to the vest.

IMO, they need to get over the attachment to the original actors. Find someone who looks similar and can act(including matching physicality), tell a good story, and most people will accept the change. I know things didn’t go great with young Han Solo and Lando, but that wasn’t the actors’ fault, and I believe they could have pulled it off.

I assume you must be a Stars Wars fan in terms of following all the different spin offs outside the movies? If that is correct then I don't disagree with you having your point of view. But for a large majority of people...like me...all we ultimately relate to is the original trilogy and then all we want to see - more than anything - is Luke. Thats why the general public turned against the recent sequels. In the first movie, we got tasters of the original films and we thought Rey would bring Luke back and they would form the main story together. When we got the Luke we did...that's when it all fell apart. And that's also why the Mandalorian gave us the Luke scene we so desperately wanted to see. All we want to see is more Luke!

@mevensen agreed...thats why Disney missed a trick by not simply making Rey Luke's daughter. If they had done this...the sequels would have been a million times better. Seeing Luke face up to the daughter he shouldn't have sired (like his father) but then also abandoned would have been so great. Then seeing him train her and ultimately die protecting her would have been immense. We could then have had a whole series about the back story to Rey from Lukes perspective. How he fell in love with someone...what happened etc etc. Not just a story about him trying to set up a Jedi temple and failing...then running off.

I would have been fine if they recast Luke. I care more about the character rather than the actor. Mark Hamill will always be Luke but if they really wanna do this story right. They should have recast him. But they decided to do a deepfake which takes time and money. So now we will barely see any OT characters.

Please bring in Ezra to the story soon, thank you. Luke would be nice too, but I would settle with seeing Ezra one of my favorite heroes from Rebels.

Luke is a must in the upcoming Thrawn saga.

I think Ahsoka takes place before that boba fett scene between luke and her, so i don't think they've met yet. Also, i would like filoni to clarify where was Ahsoka between te moment Ezra saved her an brought her to the world between worlds and episode VI. I always thought she was missing (may be from the time jump after getting out of the world between worlds, may be in malachor trying to get back) and that's why she wasn't around.

Shin Hati already seems to be a substitute for Mara Jade. Plus there were not nightsisters in the Heir of the Empire books. As much as I enjoyed that series I’m really liking the changes that Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are doing. They can easily just get Hondo Onaka to replace Talon Karrde as well.

How could he not know? The Rebel Alliance would have had the intelligence from the pre rebellion days of the activities of Ahsoka & the crew of the Ghost. Luke was veritable General next to Han, Leia & Lando. He would have had access to that intelligence information. Especially considering a Jedi supposedly disappeared with Thrawn.

I'd love to see Anakin as a force ghost have a conversation with his son Luke. We only ever saw him appear at the end of ROTJ.

The reason why he’s not there’s at this moment always a critical time when the hero comes and save the day Luke Skywalker is op of a character

I've only watched a handful of Clone Wars and Rebels, so I dont know the characters as well as others. The show does look gorgeous, but the pace is very slow at the moment. I hope to see more exciting episodes to come. If I wrote this series, the one thing that would rally the fans together and make this show stand out would be if Ahsoka was able to bring together all the remaining heroes to fight alongside her against Admiral Thrawn and the remnants of his forces. She could easily contact Luke Skywalker again to aid her, and she can find this Ezra character to join the fight too. What if they even bring in Jedi, Cal Kestis & Dathomir Nightsister, Merrin from both from canon Jedi games. Plus Zay Versio the female starfighter pilot, and the daughter of Iden Versio from the canon Battlefront 2 game?! Galen Marek, also known as Starkiller could easily make an appearance too from the Force Unleashed games, played by Sam Witwer. It could be a very emotional scene bringing together characters from the films and games.

Would love to see Luke get his own show. He is still young and there is always evil in the galaxy that needs to be dealt with.

@@nealjolly5434 I would argue that the Force is neither. Gender agnostic, if you will. As for Luke, he WAS better than anything she can come up with. Unfortunately, her influence is all over the Sequel Trilogy, and look how bad they made Luke look. In fact, there is an argument that he isn't the real hero that destroyed the Death Star, as it was the efforts of the chick from Rogue One that won the war. He just pushed a button. I also read that Leia was the most important character in Star Wars. Not Luke. Star Wars was at it's peak when the Extended Universe was it's largest. Now it is a weak, pathetic drained husk of it's former glory. I hope KK rots in hell for what she did to this franchise (and others).

I wish it had been the year 2010 when Disney bought the rights for Star Wars and actually spent a year or two exploring story ideas for the next trilogy then at least Mark Harrison and Carrie would have still been younger enough for them to have done a heir to the empire trilogy with all the characters from those books.

If luke shows up people are going to start caring way less about ahsoka and not at all for sabine it would basically take the whole focus on them and if luke shows up people want to see leia and han at which point this show becomes a sequel to the OT not rebels (also by sequel I mean a good one not that joke of a trilogy they released)

In the books, Han and Leia had twins (Jacen and Jaina), and then a year or so later another boy (Anakin). They spent most of their childhood hidden in the Maw protected by Winter.

If Thrawn is treated like a multi series villain. Maybe we will see Grogu,The Mandalorian,Boba Fett,Luke,Ezra,Ahsoka all of them fighting side by side against Thrawn.

The latest CGI for Luke looked pretty good. I was excited to see him. But I understand not wanting to lean on old characters. I would like to see Grogu at some point go back to visit him. I can't help but think somewhere in Grogu's older years, they will kill of Mando and Grogu will battle with the light and dark side. But I hope they keep him pure.

By any chance does anyone know what picture/ frame was used in the video from min 2:35-2:38. I am kinda curious. I’ve seen this picture before a couple of years ago. Like Revenge of the Sith original concept art and I couldn’t find it. That would be great if anyone knows the name of that art piece.

Great video, I think it would make sense for luke to come back towards the end of the season when Thrawn returns. Could be a ending scene where Ahsoka show up and tells him Thrawn is back

I don't believe that the meeting we see between Luke Skywalker and Ashoka was there first meeting just seems like they know each other before this meeting.

I don't care what Dave Filoni is saying. People need to watch Rebels to understand it better. I'm watching Ahsoka Ep 1 and I'm like who the hell is Ezra that Sabine keeps feeling emo about? Is she the only Ezra Miller fan in her galaxy? LOL! Then I watch Rebels and her Ezra is introduced within the first 3 minutes. I usually hate this shit where I have to go back and watch something to get a better clarity with a current show I'm watching but watching Rebels feels like a must at least for me. And the irony is the way Sabine and Hera acts in the cartoon is a stark contrast to the live-action ones where they sound more one-note. I usually don't enjoy watching animated shows except for adult humor like Family Guy and Beavis And Butt-Head. But with Rebels, I need to make an exception. I want to get a clearer understanding of the Guardians of the Galaxy of Star Wars. At least Rebels is entertaining enough from what I've seen from one episode.

I agree that Luke probably isn't going to come back until the end of the season if they need him to tie everything together before Mando season 4 and the Thrawn movie!

I had to read this headline twice. She probably didn't mention Thrawn to Luke because by the time she met him (in the Boba Fett/ Mandalorian timeline), Thrawn had already been defeated long before. LOL. You do know Ahsoka didn't even meet Luke until after the events of Return of the Jedi? Her struggles with Thrawn take place long before the events of A New Hope. Leia is still a Senator in the Ahsoka series, these events take place BEFORE A New Hope. How do I know Thrawn is defeated by the time Ahsoka meets Luke and discusses Grogu? Well, that takes place after Return of the Jedi, when Luke has defeated the Emperor and is building his new Jedi Temple. Did we see Thrawn in the events beginning with the Battle of Yavin and onward to the defeat of the Empire? Of course we don't because, even though he's a post Empire character in Heir to the Empire, apparently they have decided to use him earlier in the story line. They can do that since Legends are not canon. When Thrawn re-emerges in Ahsoka, it's before the events of Rogue One. Leia is a Senator and has not yet been delivered the plans for the Death Star.

What makes you think she didn’t tell him. We saw them for 3 minutes together and they clearly have spoke about quite a bit

When Rogue One came out, I went to see it only because "A Star Wars Story" was in the title. I thought it was something exactly as Star Wars: Visions is today. And it seemed like "A Star Wars Story" because I didn't recognize anyone until Peter Cushing appeared onscreen; then I nearly fainted. I think I gasped out loud and said, "They told me he had cancer." I stared at the screen in disbelief for the rest of the movie, until I googled it just to make sure that I really remembered Peter Cushing's passing. Why can't they do again whatever they did to put Cushing on screen? If they can sell us a real Wilhuf Tarkin that was totally believable, surely they can do better regarding Luke and Leia. We need a Star Wars movie, just one more, with Luke, Leia, and Han Solo in the cockpit of the Millenium Falcon just one more time, and it look as real as Tarkin walking around the screen of Rogue One.

Besides, with a light saber, the only person that could probably handle her in a fight would be Obi-Wan Kenobi at this point, and there’s not a blaster they can get near her see clone training in tales of the Jedi

I think we are being over optimistic about them bringing back Luke into live action for anything other than a few short cameos or name drops. Mark Hamill said he was done with Star Wars and that rather use his likeness with Deep Fake tech, that they should instead recast someone else for the role and pay them like they do with any other actors. In response to that, Lucasfilm (I believe it was Kennedy?) said that they were done using Luke Skywalker for live action. What is behind that? It’s for the big reasons why we have a writers and actors strike. The big studios want to use Deep Fake to replace all but the big name actors as well as for deceased actors and use AI as a replacement for all but the big writers and cgi instead of building sets or filming on location. Either way, in the near term, the move would mean larger paydays for the big guys and more profit for the investors at the expense of those that did all of the work. In the long term, the shift could doom the industry. And we’ve already seen it to some extent with the BoBF, Kenobi and the Mandalorian season 3. Big budgeted shows with cgi sets, small writer teams, screwy plots and secondary and background actors that either don’t know how to act or are just plain poorly directed.

I absolutely love Mark Hamill and he will always be my Luke Skywalker but recasting would allow the character to live beyond a single human life. I am curious what Mark’s kids would look in his character shoes? However that would be a tough sell as very few kids would want to embrace the shadow of their parents.😮 great video as always I always feel like we get a studio mind set with your insights.❤

You said Ahsoka didn't exist until after ROTS(2005) that isn't necessarily correct the animated Clone Wars film/series(2008) was likely written before ROTS released due to how long cg animation took to create back then, she didn't exist in the public sphere but Filoni could have created said sharacter b4 the final prequel released

I don't think we saw their initial meeting on the show. When Din Djarin shows up on the planet that Luke is on, Ahsoka was already there with Luke. So we haven't even seen their first meeting in any star wars material yet as far as I know

Good afternoon, to answer your question is started like in early September mid-2000 when the trilogies came out with Phantom Menace and I forgot the other other one, to me it was just slow and dry and when they came out with Phantom Menace Anakin was young and his wife can't forget can't remember her name was a teenager so I'm still confused on that somebody help on that one because when they did the second and the third one, they made Anakin the same age as his wife who was a teenager in the second one

The 3rd should've been Dark af and been Vader killing the Jedi's and Yoda and Obi running scared, ending in a suicide mission to save Liea and Luke. Eps 7-9 should've obviously been the Y'uuzaan Vong.

I would say Luke knows of this threat, but his priorities are set. He is now settling down after traveling the Galaxy learning about the Force. (Legends of Luke Skywalker) His new Academy is his focus, but dont count him out for a bigger more prominent role. Thrawn without a doubt knows about him and likely knows who his father was. He did figure out Vader was Anakin. I see things building toward the movie and that is where Luke will play his role in the story. Where they can use a stand in and CGI to bring his character to life without as many budget restrictions. For those who havent read Heir to the Empire, we havent even scratched the main story line and we dont know how this plays into the Thrawn / Ascendancy storyline in his Novels.

The Emperor keeps Luke’s severed hand at his cloning site on Exegol. Which leave the door open that Luke had a hand (genetically) in the creation of either Snoke or one of the Palpatine clones. In the original ‘Heir to the Empire’ trilogy, the clone of the former Jedi Master Jorus C’boath (Joruus was his clone) used Luke’s severed hand at the Emperor’s cloning facility at Mount Tantiss on Wayland to create a clone of Luke, referred to as Luuke.

The resistance to recasting the big three Luke Leia and bringing back the young Han is going to make it so we don't ever see any of the things they did during this entire era. Solo wasn't liked by everybody, fine but we need these younger actors. This CGI is expensive and not great.

THE CGI/Deepfake for Luke was amazing! We finally got our Luke Skywalker back, and it wasn’t another actor or game quality CGI replacing him. This Deepfake technology came a long way and was on par with Marvel’s de-aging affects, which were quite impressive for their time as well!

It seems strange to me. Paramount managed to successfully recast so many from the TOS era in Strange New Worlds. Disney locked themselves into something and there just isn’t much love for OT characters.

They should only return for the filoni movie and kept somewhat short. Luke should get around 30 minutes, han Leia Lando like 5-10 minutes each

I think it would be nice if Mara Jade and/or the twins were Palpatines first clones, and part of a plot to destory Thrawn as a competitor but she falls in love with either Luke (but can never be his wife, therefore making her mad), or Mando himself. It would be cool to tie it all in.

Baylan story is different than that for Joruus Cbaoth but it fits much more as a reimagined version of Jorus Cbaoth. And Shin could be a version of Cbaoth's padawan Lorana Jinzler meets Mara Jade, which isn't going to be the wife of Luke because the sequel trilogy made Luke as an hermit, but still could be the wife of another Jedi available.

could anyone please explaine why they said Anakin was too old to be trained? He was 9 years old if i remember correctly. Luke, Rey and Lea were way older when they started their training. Would be awesome if someone could make sense of it

The one thing a lot of your Jedi fans don’t understand is that the original three movies were written before anything came afterwards, in some cases 20 years later

Ok, and why didn't Ahsoka know about Grogu since he was there when she was still there during the Clone Wars. She didn't have to know him but could have said "I remember seeing him around @ the temple."

Luke is already aware of Thrawn.

What’s interesting is Ahsoka seems to pick up after The Jedi episode in Mandalorian season 2 which takes place in 9ABY. But Mandalorians season 3 takes place in 11ABY. So shouldn’t Thrawn be back already by Mando S3?

@@Comegetmebitch I mean, Morgan Elsbeth is still being transported to the New Republic. Which means she just got arrested which was in season 2. And Grogu apparently stayed with Luke for 2 years so season 3 is 2 years later.

Well, there’s a reason why he wasn’t there at this particular time because he was still training other Jedi in the temple so either she probably didn’t know about Thrawn or it wasn’t his role to play in yet, but we all knew what happened during that time obviously

@@bryce253 I mean no, Dave isn’t trying to detach from Luke or he wouldn’t of include Luke in the Mandalorian and Boba in the first place. They can’t use Luke because it’s so expensive to use the CGI. They could recast but I don’t think they’d do that for the Ahsoka show. I think if the rumours of Luke being in the movie are tru that is when they will recast. So he can have a bigger role. Not including Luke rn is fine. Since Ahsoka has Sabine and will find Ezra anyway. And she probably knows Luke is busy. Plus what Luke is doing is pretty important. And if Ahsoka did include Luke it could put that endanger. Enemies could find out where Luke’s Jedi Temple is.

Correction (minute marker 10:23), "Luke and Leia had twins"...nope, Han Solo and Leia had twins (Jacen and Jaina); Luke and Mara Jade had only Ben; Han and Leia would later have another child, calling him Anakin (who'd go off in a blaze of Jedi glory).

I think towards the end of the Ahsoka series. But i would really like to see Leia in some of these shows or at least small scene.

The best part about all the changes to the trong Is that unless you're a major Star Wars head And have read all those books. You would have no clue to the changes. And most of the people watching this series more than likely have never read Go to books. Some most of the fans watching this series don't even know that changes. If you weren't talking about them, I'm glad you are don't Get me wrong but most of the people don't even realize that there's changes. I love Star Wars and I. Never read those books Definitely want to now. I didn't even know they existed.

Just redo the Last Jedi and start from there... Dave is the only one who can make Luke as relevant as he should be though, so fingers crossed it turns out alright

Filoni is DEFINITELY bringing Luke into this storyline. No way he won’t if he’s basing it loosely off the novels. But ya if they are basing it off Legends Luke then ehhhh how wouldn’t he feel the disturbance?

I hope they recast Luke tbh. I liked the surprise in Season 2 Mando but I don't want him to be in the way of story too much, rather have a new face for Luke going forward that could maybe even have his own film in the future.

Hope they bring him back the cgi was not ruining the show
