Awkward Silence ok good! We the African youth will be savior of mama Africa. I feel that the mid 80s, 90s kids and so forth will be the one to get it done, because we have not been compromised by colonialism. Anyone before mid 70s should not be running any country in Africa because they were born into colonialism and have a different mindset thats not suited for the 21st century Africa. Well thank you for being a soldier in the 21st century fight to liberate Africa/Africans globally from mental bondage and economic freedom. One voice one Africa, 1.4 billions+ 200 millions diaspora united will be an untouchable force that no enemies will prosper against! ✊🏿🙏🏿

The racist system pitted one against the other. It is diabolically self-perpetuating. This is also why the Black man turns from his Black woman. The media also influences the viewers subconscious by exalting the beauty of white and light over Brown and Black. It is global.

I didnt hear a single lie here. As our people say, you can’t bite the hand that feeds you. I’m an African American who lived in west Africa for several years. Living there frustrated the hell out of me. The people are beautiful, but people’s attitudes on making change were too colonial for me. And the leadership is often so self serving that the people are really just left to fend for themselves. There is so much young talent - men’s and women who could be creating things and making things for the good of the continent. However greedy old African men in leadership make it so that the only thing young people strive to do is leave and never return. Where is the pride?

pulianotwist Fact number one starts by mentalities. I live between Portugal Spain and UK. In all those countries are African communities. In Portugal and UK the Africans have rights and the same support provided by the government to help them to achieve hight standard of life. What do we do? Set living by that support and complaining about every aspect of life in those Countries. Unfortunately even the blacks born in those Countries have the same syndrome. Blame everybody and never accept responsibility. Fact number two. Africans need to approve and accept those between themselves that achieve success in life. We need to put behind jealous. We need to will advice coming from another Africans with good Ideas and social vision. Resuming: we need to evolve by ourselves not expecting the government or th Chinese, the Europeans or the Americans to come and say to us what to do or not.

It is true that African leaders are to blame however we must not forget that America and the British have a lot to do with who's in leadership in Africa. For the last 60 or so years they help place corrupt leaders a.k.a. dictatorships in African because of Mother Africa's natural resources. It has been proven that every person that try to run for office to bring change to mother Africa was ruin or assassinated. Mother Africa will rise again..

@]------[ so we just say we are Trinis even though sone are from Tobago. Its complicated but we understand it. The history of the two islands are similar but different. Tobago remains largely Africa, Trinidad is majority Indian. In my case my fathers side are descendants of African slaves from Barbados but my mothers side is East Indian, Carib Indian ( Indigenous people of the Americas) So that makes me a Trini - in short. Lol But being a Trini is also about the cultural observations that make up our heritage. So you will find in Trinidad a Hindu married to a Muslim but their children are Catholic. You will find people observe Oshun African ancestral religion, go to Hindu pundit to jah-ray, take communion in the catholic church and still attend an evangelical crusade. We cook everything from yam, cassava and saltfish to roti and doubles, to chinese stir fry, syrian gyros, spanish pastelles and paime and dont forget the black rum cake. In trinidad you will find a muslim woman wearing a hijab during ramadhan and still jump in a bikini feathered costume for carnival. In trinidad you will find soca music played on the steepan and sitar. Calypso, chutney, soca chutney, soca dancehall and the lot. But most of all Trini is a mindset that is best expressed at home. Although we may live abroad we remain Trini to the bone because it is where our navel string is buried.

I hate to say this, but the reality is cruel . Respect can only be earned not be granted. This same story happens on Chinese people. Now the whole world and the west still do not respect Chinese people and their achievement cordially. What African people should do now is to work hard, be eager to learn, improve themselves and build their own countries and continents instead of asking for respect because cordial respect is a luxury and you will not gain respect very soon. Emotion is not what you need right now. I know natural resource is very precious for African people but you have to have something to start with.

Wode Maya, I love your energy and passion. Like you, I was born in a village in Ghana lived in Cape Coast and spent most of my adult life in Scotland. This exposure sometimes makes me wonder if some of us black people especially Africans really understand the world. I want to propose something that will contribute to this work you and many others are doing but mine will take a more technical form. Get in touch and let's see what we can do together, please?

I feel your frustration man It is shared by your brothers over here in america. We as black Americans demand respect but sometimes do the things that's not worthy of respect. It seems sometimes we are looked down upon and exploited by every other ethnicity within or outside the USA. Including our African brothers who come to America. Like you said We as a people or race need to rebuild our brand world wide especially when it comes to Africa. Thanks for your perspective it really opened my eyes. Peace be with you my bro.

I live in China too and I couldn't agree with you more. Great talk bro, glad to hear you will visit my home country Kenya. Keep up the good work. I always tell my friends the day Africa will try and fail as a nation is when there will be growth. Africa has been dependent on aid, our leaders want to solve every single problem with borrowed money. China's relationship to Africa will always be controversial but if our leaders actually used the borrowed money for development then there would be no controversy. The controversy come from one side feeling they are giving too much for so little. Africans feel they give up too much resources and Chinese feel they give so much money.

I know you do not like to talk about but, apprently it is one of the things you are supposedly to do. The message is always given to the one who can deliver it the best. Dont stop doing what you are doing.

I laughed when I saw the ending of this. You and I have the same thoughts and as an African who has grown up in London I feel that we on the outside see the issues in Africa a lot clearer. When we hardly respect or support ourselves how do we expect others to respect us? We sell everything we have and still expect to play on the same level as other nations. You are spot on when you say no amount of money can buy natural resources but yet I doubt they thought twice before selling it to line their pockets. I, like you, just laugh at the homelessness of it all and pray for future African leaders that are less greedy and have a true love and ambition for the country and its people. But I doubt that would be within my life time.

The Chinese would not care if the African didn't respect the Chinaman, simply because the Chinaman is in a dominant position. What Africans (globally) need to focus on is obtaining power, wealth, and influence so that we aren't seeking "respect". Respect cannot be counted nor quantified so in all truthfulness it really does not matter. That gardening was dope. I'm a city boy.....I wanna learn that skill so I can move out to the country (Georgia/Florida) n grow my own shit.

you are very right. tbh. let's forget about westerner education. we have the resources, we literally feed all these other countries through our resources. without our resources, there is no USA or China. All we need to do is, the youth need to rise up against all the corrupt leaders, come together and with the level of intelligence bestow to us, we can change Africa within 20 years or less. it doesn't matter what kind of languages we all speak. what matter most is coming together as one

You probably don't know, but if you start tracing inventions one by one, you will be amazed to discover that blacks even in their difficult situations have invented many things. Yes, Africa is facing a few problems at present, but only one thing need fixing, that's spirituality, once Africa sorts itself out, beware. Africa once was the first World power on this planet, ancient Egypt was Black, make no mistake.
