Another thing to consider is a chemical free pet bed. Those cheap Chinese beds are likely loaded with chemicals. My dogs have beds from Savvy Rest.

Some dogs and people are sensitive to histamines. For these folks, foods high in histamines can cause issues. This includes fermented foods, some probiotics, and canned fish. I myself had this issue and all these things made my problems worse. I would have an open mind regarding triggers. Some of the worst triggers can be healthy foods.

My cat has a body odor issue. He looks healthy with no skin issues though he is itchy around his ears. His ears used to contain very dark wax and he was itching them. I treated the ears with Zymox Otic (enzyme cleaner/hydrocortisone) and his ears are very clean now and he seems to itch them much less though he still somewhat itchy around the ears. He is eating a raw diet following the full prey model. I took him to the vet who said he was a normal healthy cat but he still exhibits the body odor issue. I also put a prebiotic/probiotic supplement in his food ( Pet Honesty). Thank you for any comments.

An additional thing to consider is shampoos, conditioners and grooming products. Most of these are loaded with toxic chemicals. I know many people who wash their dogs weekly. That is a huge exposure.

Thank you so much for this concise video on addressing itchy skin. I have a dog rescue and most of the dogs enter this phase at some point. It's my thought it's vaccines (toxins) and/or detox as they get put on a healthy diet. I have one dog who just blossomed, she was just beautiful but recently has had acute skin issues, ie chewing on back, losing hair, angry redness. It's frustrating to know what may be triggering this. My question is, starting with the first SP products, how long do you supplement each phase? One bottle? Then move to the next product? This dog has been on raw for 2 years, only got one rabies shot, treated homeopathically and with gemmotherapy for central nerv system and elimination. We do not use pesticides as a rule and soap/detergent is super clean. It's just a mystery!

I am a big fan of raw feeding, however all raw foods are not created equal. In addition, unless you are feeding homemade raw, a true elimination diet will be difficult. For example, a friend had an allergic dog who turned out to be allergic to fish oil which is pretty much in every food.
