This video hit hard. This week has been really difficult : depressing weather, back pain, overworked... Yesterday morning i decided to wake up very early and took my camera. The city was still sleeping, a thick fog was covering everything. Being out alone in the dark, watching the day rise and the city life waking up felt incredible. Most pictures taken looked like shit, but i managed to have a few keepers that i really love. It makes you appreciate the little things. Just get out, close your social media. It might maybe make you a better photographer... but you will surely feel a better person. On a side note, i crave for these ambiant piano music. Would you mind sharing the song names in your credits ?

The most part of the video/photo yt channels always review cameras and accessories with cold perspective, talking about features and specifications. That information is really easy to find in the company website and stores. That's the reason I really love this channel. I can find important information about the photography: the feelings, the result, the experience, the passion for the medium, and so on. It's a real shelter for genuine photographers that we are done with all the technical and boring stuff. We want to enjoy photography regardless our level. In addition the production of the videos is really amazing and curated. Love it.

It's called fetishization, attributing the value/appreciation/desire of one thing instead of another. Consumption works well because it has become that: supplying non-existent "needs", and placing objects of consumption as responses to those created needs. I "need" a new lens, I "need" a more powerful camera... Maybe you need to put a little more interest and care in what you already do/have . . .

I can't answer that for you. But why do you ask? Maybe... . I only raise ideas on a topic that you expose, here in a public forum. I have no problems with the methods and objectives of the design, but when consumption is put before all the other premises of the work, it only remains to see how a certain form of economic model takes over everything else. "Fashion design" does more harm than good in the long run... . (and no, getting 'more stuff' doesn't necessarily make our job better. Collectors are cool, but they're not become great photographers/filmmakers just for that)

This is a solid point for anyone who does a craft with a growth mindset where the tool is a positive and integral part of creation and flow. As a counterpoint, it ignores the reason why the "camera doesn't matter" argument is being made: a lot of people in any craft or hobby feel that nice things make them level up by default, like greatness is the finish line and the tool was the limiter. The romanticizing of the tool is important in a craft, but confuses growth with the dopamine hit of technical achievement or prestige. Your channel is a testament to a craftsman and growth mindset so it looks obvious coming from you, but countless people are frustrated that after the high of their new purchase, their photos and videos still suck. Unrelated, but I've been really enjoying the enormous effort and creativity in your videos, thanks for these incredible works!

I appreciate your DIY/ hardware reference. I have a few vernier calipers, but one is special. It's kept in its original box, never lent out, kept with my valuables and not with the other tools. I bought it about 15 years ago and have only lately recovered from the shock of the price I paid. It is revered, trustworthy, and brings meaning to the small projects I undertake.

This is absolutely beautiful, in every sense. Something I can wholeheartedly agree with and one of the reasons I shoot with a Fuji. The styling, tactile dials and buttons and the beautiful image quality from their X-Trans sensors and film simulations makes the X-T series an absolute joy to use. My passion for photography increased immensely after adopting a Fuji system.

These videos are some of the very best on KZread for quality and production in any genre. Moreover, there is incredibly vivid storytelling and amazing pacing as well. I've been watching your videos now for only a few short weeks but you've almost single headedly rekindled my love for photography, and specifically the Fuji X series of cameras. I previously got to a decent enthusiast level with the system back in 2015-16 and used an X-E1 with various mainly prime lenses and then an X-T2, for some extensive travel and documentary photography. There's something magical and inspiring about these cameras. The tactile nature of the controls, and yes, some obvious foibles, making for an engaging and rewarding experience when you get the shot right. Tragically, I sold my gear when it was clear my globe trotting travel-tog days were behind me for a while (kids), but I really regret that now. I recently acquired a Sony A7ii for a great price, an incredible tool to be sure, but I miss the feel and experience of the X-Series so much. And so, inspired by some of your other videos too, I am 'upgrading' to a used X-Pro 3 and the Zeiss 32mm f1.8 planar highlighted in one of your earlier videos, which I adore. I've previously had the XF 35mm f1.4 as well but I fancy a change and something slightly wider. As on cost basis I very much doubt I'll be building back my lens collection very soon.
