Additional information on the Sky striker Manga. The Sky striker Manga runs in OCG stories which is a card lore manga, it has been announced to be replaced by the Magistus Lore which was featured briefly in the card game chronicles video.

It’s possible for the new Konami animation studio to do like a mini web series to help promote and garner more support with whatever animation staffing they have. We’ll just have to see

That's never going to happen. It is exceedingly rare that we get "JP-exclusive media" and vice versa and I don't see why that would suddenly change. Heck, I bet you everything that the early days collection will be 4K-Yugiohified despite those games being more closely based on the manga, because they do their darndest to make you forget the manga exists and released with JP-character names largely intact. Edit: Also, english audiences have it good actually, at least comparatively. Tertiary languages are really getting left in the dust. The german dub is barely supported compared to the OG english dub of the 4K-version, yet they also never greenlit official german subs for the japanese anime. And videogame localizations have seemingly no real QA. And nothing of the manga got localized past the original run(Like, the english manga localization is not in a great state and started using dub names from GX onward, but it is better than nothing at least)

I think now that Konami has made its own Animation Studio, this COULD mean that a new anime could be based around Card Lores and maybe even a new Yugioh series

Amazing I hope duel monsters has own anime series outside of card game anime series because the art style and animation look so stunning fascinating and brilliant it even better than studio gallop animation and art style

I think Konami Animation might handle Yugioh animes starting next year , they did an anime Opening for “Reign of the Seven Spellblades “ and they did “Yugioh Card game The Chronicles “ sure smaller animated projects but they can do like Cardfight Vanguard does with the D series animes nowadays. They have 3 animated studios working on the series , one as a main studio , the other 2 supporting that studio , this makes it so the anime doesnt drop on animation quality. Konami Animation could just hire other smaller studios to help them out with a full series . Also doubt that they would do 100+ series . I think when they start animating, the anime format could possibly change into a seasonal one , where we have seasons , each season with around 12- 24 episodes, because thats how most animes improve their quality nowadays, they can make like 3 seasons or 4 for each new anime that would be 12 +12+ 12 = 36 episodes , but if they do 24 per season 24 + 24 + 24 = 72 episodes , they could stretch the seasonal anime to another year and with 24 episodes per season we would reach 96 episodes which would be great for a seasonal anime , this would imply staying with the same protagonist for 3 / 4 years. This would be separated into seasons tho , either each season separated by season 1 , season 2 , season 3 or they cogive each season similar names if its an anime that the next season will have the same protagonist

Without Takahashi and withou Gallop is debatable if they will make manga related content like a sequel to DSOD. The scene with Kaiba and the Pharaoh aside from being followed by a duel between both of them I doubt will require a full movie, but an OVA could be great

Cardfight Vanguard anime right now is in the D series and those are being done by 3 smaller animated studios, thats what Konami Animation could do , hire other studios to help with the animation , even Pokemon does that in some episodes , they could also change the format from weekly anime into a seasonal anime , and that would give them more time to do the animation

This is a huge not likely thing to happen but for the 25th anniversary I’d like a DBZ Kai version/redub of the original series with the Original English voice cast. One more close to the original Japanese dialogue

I honestly want them to just reboot, vrains was so hard to watch for me. Rush anime hasnt really done it for me either.

@@Tealstag789 "yeah but you don’t open a new studio for nothing" Well they don't need to do YGO, apparently they made an opening for a show that isn't a Konami property so they will work like a regular animation studio. So the studio isn't open for nothing, but that doesn't mean they will focus on YGO

I hope some of the archetype gets an lore series next year in 2025 and Konami Animation will do an excellent job animated one of them.

Personally I think they might be starting by experimenting with the format and deciding whether or not to go with an anthology or full series and the reason they're not outright calling it a "trailer" is because they don't want to fully commit to these specific archetypes they're just ideas in general So I expect they'll probably open with Sky Striker considering it's the one segment they didn't name then rather than just go into Magustus like the manga it will be something else either Duel Terminal, Albaz, or swapping between single episode anthology's and full fledged dedicated series to figure out what performs better and just go with that

My guess for what's gonna happen is that I think we'll be getting an adaption of the Sky Strikers Manga and a reboot of the original. They showed an extended clip of the former in the trailer, and I can't think of a reason why they'd do that unless it's a hint of what's to come. As for the latter, let's face it, the original YuGiOh series was made ages ago and strays from the manga a lot at points. I can see them redoing the whole thing to capture a new generation in the west. Idk, that's just me.

You know what with this new animation studio I could see a Duel Links Tournament of Power style series being made.

Hopefully this will be a great step for both Konami and Yugioh unlike Rush Duels which was pointless to me since it's just Duel Links in real life with rules that be broken in the mainline game and that those archetype lore anime shows might actually get people into Yugioh as a brand

@FranciscoRamirez-nb4uu if my math is correct, 2028 will mark the 30th anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime (which began with whats often referred to as "Season 0). 2026 would mark the 30th anniversary of the franchise as a whole as 1996 was the debut of the original manga.

One thing I’m worrying about is that it may be more cutesy anime girls than shonen, I want my big buff oily men, ancient Egyptian coolness, legendary dragons, etc. more so

We will 100% get a lore anime and specifically through the ones they decided to show off in the "trailer". Not only is it a great business move but like you also said, there would be no point in just giving the audience a PV while also announcing your own in-house studio and not do anything with it. I think its pretty self explanatory and obvious that this is what they plan to do. Even without any confirmation to suggest such, I'm not that worried. Konami is self aware that a lore anime is the move and is what people want. They might select at least one or two of the lores that could be worthy to receive more episodes or even multiple seasons while the rest can be shorts. If they wanted to announce their studio Konami Animation, then they couldve just have done it at any other event for their other IPs or shadow drop it but they decided to specifically show it off through Yu-Gi-Oh at the Tokyo Dome event by the promotional animation video. If it isnt obvious that we're getting a lore anime, then I dont know what is 😅.

You can also see a random timestamp at the bottom right of the Six Samurai scene (2:31-2:32) for a split second. I assume that one is an error though lol While it's more likely than ever to get a lore series (the OCG Stories manga and Master Duel's Solo Gates), I don't think the Chronicle Animation is the sign of that. The content of the animation was made in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the OCG - hence why they featured mostly non-anime archetypes. If Konami Animation unveiled themselves next year, there probably would've been more anime references instead in the debut video. And Sky Strikers got featured the way they did because Konami loves Sky Strikers. But yeah interestingly - Yugioh 9's announcement will coincide with the 25th anniversary of the anime (Duel Monsters started in 2000). So next year is going to be big regardless.

Nah it will at least take 3 years before the studio can afford to do a full on series, they probably don't have enough in house staff to work on it. Just look at Cygames they made CygamesPictures in 2016 but it took until 2020 before producing an actual anime series.

I think they might be able to do it , they did an opening for an anime , and after that did the Chronicles animations for Yugioh , I think they can handle it while borrowing another studio help. Cardfight Vanguard Dress and DivineZ anime did that , they put 3 studios working on the anime that way the quality of animations would improve and the work would be divided by the 3 studios , so Konami Animation could request the help of other studios while they hire more people and do it like that

Links already kinda contradicted the design-philosophy of new mechanics(Every new major mechanic introduced after Fusion, meaning Tribute, Synchro, XYZ, Pendulum...all inheritly interacted with levels. Links instead use a new "Link counter"), which speaks for it being a sign of overdesigned bloat and not being a synergistic part of what the game was before its inclusion. We really do not need *even more* at this point, unless they want to go back to Anime-exclusive mechanics and create the Neo-Rituals, that go into the extra deck, that people wanted to see.(Which even has a neat meta-setup of existing rituals being the most failed destinct cardtype in the game. They can easily have the lore that regular rituals were depricated and replaced in the world of the show, and have characters show up to play them again and revive them as a used mechanic. Not realistic, but when was the anime ever?)

@@lpfan4491 Exactly I wouldn't want anymore summoning mechanics added in the master rule format also if links didn't exist pendulum would have been the last that was what konami always wanted to do imo. But for me xyz will always be the peak of the summoning mechanic being the end of it all.
