I used to take Sh__ for "waste of time, get rolling" putting the lighter staps on stuff like that, when I pulled a flatbed. Worst case was moving battle torn HumVees from Ft. Carson to be refurbished. The heavy, obvious flyaway hazards I got secure. But the radio whips kept getting loose like spring loaded snakes. Then these fiberglass antennae would hit overpass and flail around. And people were honking and swerving. You gotta really imagine "What could happen IF," with every load.

I've done flatbed. Stuff like this usually breaks going down the road. It doesnt matter how well you secure it, especially the cheaper things become. Flimsy plastic junk like this always breaks. Never ride around trucks. Chains, bungies, straps and tarps can all break and fly off, also tires can explode, etc.

You can’t sue based on what “could” have happened unless you can prove gross negligence. Maybe you could claim that proper maintenance wasn’t done but even that would be hard to prove (you would need to get that part that flew off, get it analyzed by some expert, and get that expert to testify). Not worth it as you wouldn’t get much

@@christiancraig2326my brother in christ, it is the duty of the company moving the object to ensure that everything is properly secured. This is not a “freak accident” it is a legitimate oversight in the competency of the company (Especially given that it DID HIT SOMEONE) and the point of litigation in these cases is to provide financial motivation to these companies to ensure better safety standards. There are people who sue over nothing, THIS IS NOT NOTHING. Turn off the brain rot my brother.

@@Pops180that’s absolutely not true. It is the company’s responsibility to make sure that their equipment is safe to be towed on a trailer. That means making sure there are no loose panels are pieces that can be swept away by the wind generated from towing. It’s literally just standard procedure
