You guys should do “Fake Plastic Trees” by them next. It’s both my favorite song lyrically and melody-wise. Its theme has been described as the “difficulty of forging an authentic human connection in a world of artifice,” which is a tough nut to crack in the span of five minutes, but I think they pull it off. I feel his struggle to stay true to one’s self and one’s goals, when the whole world seems built around putting up a front and never showing anyone what you the real you is like.

Radiohead is one of the most revered bands in the world. They have had the same 5 guys in the group since they started in college in the 80’s. “No Surprises” is a gem off their 3rd album “OK Computer” and the album won a grammy for best alternative album of the year. Another great track off that album is “Paranoid Android”. Other great Radiohead songs are: Karma Police; Nice Dream; Fake Plastic Trees; The Bends; Airbag; Street Spirit(Fad e Out); Let Down; My Iron Lung; and many more. One of the most creative groups you will ever find. PS- their lead guitar player, Jonny Greenwood has written the musical score for around 10 movies, including There Will Be Blood; Spencer. Their lead singer and lyricist is Thom York.

I am so happy that you have revisited Radiohead, for me they are one of the most important bands to have come out of the UK and have certainly provided a soundtrack to my life, Since Pablo Honey was released back in 1993. Their output is unique, experimental, thought-provoking, heart breaking and often deeply beautiful. Like Amber's favourite, Pink Floyd, they are a band worthy of constant re-examination, relistening to their music brings insight and a deeper appreciation of quite how brilliant they are. I liked what Jay said "beautifully deep"....

The song is literally about the euphoria...happiness...relief??... a person feels once they decide to end it. Thankfully not too many people have had to experience this mental place. You definitely got the vibe of it, but without the lyrics (oh our mumbly Thom) and first hand experience of this mindset its easy to miss. No alarms (not waking up) and no surprises (no more trauma), please. Anyway, I'm sure other's have already said this. Nothing about Radiohead is just easy listening though.. a lot of people mention songs from Ok Computer, which is a legendary album: Let Down, Karma Police and Paranoid Android are my favorites of this one. I must say that I just LOVE their In Rainbows album (check out some songs from their In Rainbows - Live in the basement on KZread for instance Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, House of cards or 15 step. Other great ones are High and Dry, Just, Burn the Witch, Lotus Flower, Fake Plastic Trees, but I can just go on and on about this band. Very different songs and moods. Jonny Greenwood is an absolute legend on guitar, Phil Selway on amazing drums and Colin Greenwood on bass guitar keeping it tight but also playful, Ed O’Brien on guitar and backing vocals, a complete nerd with his pedal board, and of course the one and only Thom Yorke, who has a voice out of this world, angelic but also sharp and with that sneer, I am so amazed by this band and they set the bar so high!

Necessities of theirs are: Fake Plastic Trees The Bends Paranoid Android There are so many more but these are a perfect way to continue your journey through their incredible catalogue. Creep was an absolute anomaly for them, nothing else they do is as direct and simple as that, in fact the band really don't like the song at all.

If music is meant to give you an emotional response, then Radiohead does it beautifully. Try Fake Plastic Trees, Karma Police, Let Down, the Reckoner, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, nude and I Promise, just to get their range. They’re an extraordinary talent like no other!

OK Computer is an album that is incredibly near and dear to my heart. Oh, man. It was on repeat on my Discman (yes, a Discman, it was during the 90's 😅), and I loved every track with every note played. Edit: Check out Exit Music from the same album.

I always thought Thom coming up for air in the video and gasping made me feel like I could come up for air from depression (like you two talked about). Such a gorgeous song and the video is so.... tough to watch but so incredible.

one of the best bands of modern music history. They are sitting on the top. Each decade or two, a band create something new. Radiohead's experimental rock defined 90's and 2000's last rock sound. I don't know a band that produced something new since the last radiohead albums. Try vanilla sky, lucky, nude, whose army, exit music, street spirit and so forth. Everything is good.

Thom Yorke is absolutely one of my favorite singers of all time(as is the whole band). There's not a single song where he doesn't just slay on vocals, even in the quiter ones like this song. I recommend one of their more rocking songs next time, like "There, There", "The Bends", or "Black Star" are the first three that come to mind.

Live in the basement is the band live and it's wow especially when you listen to him sing "nude" and " reckoner" just pure Thom York live, incredible.

Knowing the amount of takes and frustration to film this video (that you can see in a fragment on Meeting People is Easy), the smile in Thom Yorke face in the last verses feels like a triumph, not only for the video and the song, but for the struggles, near death experiencies and post reborn feeling after a really difficult period.

At last another Radiohead! For me,the best band in history along with The Beatles, for consistency of creativity and sound. Also they do some amazing clips. Radiohead is definitely artistic. I recommend that you try to mostly do the music video version of their songs, because the videos add so much to their whole artistic vision. Y'all should check out Fake Plastic Trees next, and then react to the video for the song "Just", it will blow you away.
