Robb great job. Been married to a Thai Woman for 40 years. Back in the 80's she use to be a head nurse at a large Bangkok hospital. How we met and the path taken to make it work is a long story. For a new guy in town, getting into a relationship with women from the bar scene is the fastest way to get a girlfriend and takes the least effort. It's also more honest than chasing a 'good girl" that plays hard to get but who eventually also just rates you on financial ability. Hey, it's only money. You can't take it with you when you meet your maker. I have the Jimmy Soul / Joe Dolce song constantly running through my head, "If you want to be happy for the rest of your life...".

So many unreasonable expectations. Honestly, I would rather find a goodhearted 9 or 10 in the body of a 7 than the other way around. Beauty fades, the heart doesn't.

I think if youre going to give dating advice it should always be in context to the cultural traits of Thai women. It's a given that in their culture a man is a prospect for partner if he can make a financial contribution. So we mustn't confuse that to scamming or bargirls sponsorships. We are talking about regular,decent Thai women,most of them had broken relationships with Thai men who abandoned them,or refused to provide ,or playboys or drunkards, smoking pot or taking yaabaa,etc.. These women don't want to relive that and are also mindful of some farangs who are unreliable . Reliability is a big plus for you when dating. You'll be appreciated . Some of these women will reciprocate in a big way if you're reliable,both financially and faithfully. They're looking for security. Who can blame them , you're looking for a caring,loving woman,who can blame you? It's a meeting of needs and wants. It's simple if you know the ground rules . That could be more emphasised on your channel,how to make things work,instead of just highlighting the negative scams. There are many videos about scams,not enough about positive relationships and how that's achieved. I reckon that could grow your channel .

Agree. Yeah- really don’t want this to be the dating channel. I mean that’s a huge part of light lives here, and I’d say the biggest risk area for nearly all guys, but there’s more here than just the ladies.

I dated highly educated women in Bangkok. It was actually kind of nice as they speak english fluently and know alot about western culture. But from there and to get accepted by her family, is one out of a million chances as you said. The women I dated, dated me because they like foreigners, but they would never be allowed to marry one.

This explains why my Thai girlfriend dresses Amish when shes with me. She doesnt want to get mistaken for an ex-bar girl.

The one thing that really bothers me about having a young, beautiful Thai girlfriend is when other Thais see us, they immediately assume we're a John and a hooker. Very annoying. And I haven't found a way to fix it.

Don’t worry about it. It’s a reflection of their attitude. Be confident of who you are. As for my gf, it doesn’t take long to ascertain that she is not a bar or sex worker. Refraining from public displays of affection, learning and speaking “normal”Thai (avoiding the vulgar slang), and just treating her kindly will go a long, long way. Many Thai women have had Thai husbands and boyfriends that have treated them badly. Ranging from borrowing money to beating. Sex is very easy to get here and many Thai men have girlfriends on the side, or just disappear into one of the soapy massage parlors for a few hours. I am not saying that all Thai men are bad, but if I had a nickel for every time I heard a normal Thai girl say that her boyfriend or husband cheated, I’d be rich. Check out the Thai dating websites, many Thai women explicitly state they are not interested in Thai guys. So if you are able to show a little kindness and faithfulness, that gets reciprocated with some great cooking, massages and… The good girls are out there and many are just looking for a good guy.

@@Nordic_Skyhmm I’m not sure they’re thinking about competition, I’m guessing they’re empathising with the woman. In a western culture a 35 year woman wouldn’t usually want to be intimate with an old guy…so the older western woman are simply applying their culture to your situation and imagining how they would have felt at that age. It’s sympathy for the younger woman not competition for you 😂

$300k house is really not that big a deal anymore in the US.

Robb-- you should do a video (if you haven't) about how they shape their faces without surgery.

Ive heard some people that didnt like thailland call it the land of masks, not the land of smiles. Now because of you i understand what they meant.

Speaking about Korean culture, my Thai ex compared me to a female Korean colleague. He said that I had nothing to compete with her. That's how he manipulated me into proceed with the beauty standard that he wanted, like not going out and absorb sunlight, get the hair blonde, wearing makeup daily and so on. I gladly could break up with him. Sadly we were classmates and possibly BFF before but I only see his true color while dating. I met my fiance now (who is so called farang). He has no problem with my appearance at all. He even stop me for dying hair and convince me to go out.

Yes. There’s a 300% tax on imports so a Mercedes or Porsche is insanely expensive. Those people are Uber rich.

I'm watching a channel where a Finish guy is building a house in Thailand and he shared his girlfriends channel. She has a video where she explains how to find foreign men using date apps (kzread.info/dash/bejne/qIaaypeIpabOprA.html) and now YT starts recommending me other videos like this. There's a whole category of these style videos where they go in to all the details of how they do it and how it works etc... It's kind of endearing and these girls aren't doing sex work or anything dodgy.

My perception and generalising like you... Yes,some Thai women are the prettiest in the world but most are average and some are below average in the beauty area . Over the years ,and there are exceptions, many mixed marriages the women are average . In particular when you see an older farang with a bigger age gap,over 20+years . These average looking wives are probably better partners as they're more "grateful". Consequently they look after you better than a smoking hot chick. And that's what's attractive to most Western guys, the treatment they receive which is superior to Western women . Furthermore, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. When a woman is very caring and loving here inner beauty is more important than physical attributes . The very beautiful women have narcissistic traits . They're more about themselves than their men . There you go,my perceptions. That's not to say you won't find a beautiful Thai wife with a good heart. That's a bonus ,not the main game .

The fact of the matter is that no matter what you tell these guys coming here they’re not going to listen. For most this is probably going to be the best if not the first sex they’ve had in years or ever. When confronted with that anything they’ve been told goes right out the window. Personally I have no interest in these relationship advice vids. That seems to be the direction your channel is going so I’ll be checking out as it’s for a different audience. It seems you settled in pretty well into the countryside which is what interested me and I’m glad to see it. But for me I watch for the entertainment value and the relationship stuff just doesn’t do it for me. I wish you luck and hope you have continued success with your new life and your rehab. I think you’ll be ok!

I find it interesting that we tend to date sex workers here, but I assume most of wouldn’t do that back home. And the results are so often so predictably bad.

BOTTOM LINE,IT WILL COST YOU BIG FOR THAT THAI PIE,NO MATTER .
