As a former umpire, I can definitely confirm that when we fuck up we definitely say "I need to lock in". At least I did. Most of my screw ups behind the plate were because I wasn't focused

Loop is actually a generic Kmart brand energy drink, so you can in fact throw someone for a can of loop. Source: I worked at Kmart for 7 years and Loop was half the price of Red Bull.

It’s an out going out of the base PATH instead of the baseLINE. I know it might seem like semantics, but in umpiring, these are two very different concepts. Runners (other than going to 1st) can leave the base line, but going 3ft outside the base path which is established on a tag attempt is an out.

The proper plural would be "cans of loop"

I will say. I think Zo’s first round had a couple more challenging pitches than Jack’s. The first pitch also threw me because you have to get acclimated to looking at a slightly downward angle and Jack knew that for his turn. I think round 1 was basically a tie.

I think they should've played the full 3 innings, jack calls top of the inning, zo calls bottom of the inning. Would've balanced out hard calls most likely, but may have been too long
