I got some gas in the tank, and to mentor a young team (like the Sharks hehe)... its a similar situation like Rod the Bod (who just re-up'd apparently with the Canes) I can't imagine him leaving either, but San Jose is calling Stammer :D

I cant see him anywhere else. But teams with the money and the need for a stamkos. Utah, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, chicago, seattle, vancouver, detroit, honestly half the teams or more but some would need serious moves to open the money up

Well, Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St-Louis ended up finishing their career outside of Tampa bay and they were franchise players. I don’t think assuming he will be signed again is a safe bet. But there is no way he is going to land in Montreal😅

Tell me you haven't really watched much TB lightning lately without telling me. I'll quote Brian Engblom quoting Jon Cooper when he asked Cooper about Lilleberg "He said to me he's a player and by that he didn't mean NHL player he clearly already is but a special one."

The salary cap is what it is. The Seabrook LTIR relief ends. There is some relief with the rising cap but it's not much. As a Lightning fan, I'd LOVE to see Stammer finish his career here. That said, for the benefit of the FRANCHISE, it's probably not feasable to keep him and remain a Cup contender. It'll suck, for sure but his number will be in the rafters and he'll be loved here forever. Regardless of how he ends his career.

I hope he goes to Montreal since I’m a habs fan but I think the best fit is clearly Boston… but the panthers would be a crazy fit tho I can’t lie.

If stammer does not re-sign in Tampa I think he signs with either Detroit, I could also see the Leafs as a fit if they decide to change their core

Florida seems like a huge stretch but it would be hilarious if he landed there. I think Utah is probably going to win the sweepstakes for Stamkos tho. That would jumpstart that franchise and really cement them in the area.

The panthers off-season is going to be interesting. There is going to be ALOT of holes to fill with UFAs depleting the squad. I doubt the spend the money needed to get Stamkos and truthfully we have to spread the wealth to keep our depth.

You forgot about Detroit's cap space after seider and raymond's extension and still only having 15-16 players under contract. They dont have a ton of cap though they can afford to try for stamkos or kane and i believe they will. I'm anticipating an aggressive and very active offseason for yzerman. The last few years he's made volume plays in free agency, this year i see lots of trades coming. I see a potential buyout, i see trades to move salary out, i see trades to improve. The ultimate goal being to simultaneously get better and younger. ( adding talent, spending to the cap, filling holes with youth)

I think signing stamkos to the redwings would be a horrible move anyway. He will want 5 years. Like 9 mil. And stamkos is still good. But the second half of that contract will be painful and prevent the team from obtaining players they actually need. Like rh def or maybe a goaltender.

@@jackconrad2667 I dunno man, itd be nice to have a second play making goal scoring center especially when larkins hurt. No doubt the team needs to improve defensively, but we've tried for that center 2 offseasons in a row ( copp and compher ). I think we are waiting for danielson and kasper to solve this issue, and hopefully one of the becomes really good on the draw. Gotta imagine a change in goaltending is coming, and hopefully a second pair RD, coupled with a full season from edvinsson, should help to improve overall team defense.

@@Mike-ix5sv it would be nice having Connor mcdavid too. Detroit doesn’t have the 9 mil over 5 years. And most contracts like that turn horrible. Raymond and Seider are both resigning. Both for probably 8 yrs 8 mil. Signing stamkos would leave the def out to dry and goaltending. Also would probably loose the secondary scoring Detroit gained. I would rather have Kane for 5-6 mil for 3 years than Stamkos for 9 mil for 5 years.

I'm a wings fan and tbh I hope he stays in Tampa .. would be cool to have him but the dude is iconic in Tampa . Kane was in Chicago too .. but Chicago also has a long history with a good number of legends so it's a bit different.

I like the other 5 picks. Here's why Panthers won't work. After Florida comes close to winning the cup - or do win--lots of those ufa's will need more $ and there's 0% chance Reinhart doesn't re-sign. There is no where even close to 20 mil to sign a big name like stammer. My picks are Detroit and Boston.

Honestly I have a feeling he STAYS in Tampa and this is just all a ploy from Brisbois to get Stammer to take a lower cap hit. Hear me out; Yes Stammer took less last time and it’s pretty clear Stammer wants to stay and retire with Tampa, and I think management knows that. Brisbois has seen this team fall out of favour and understands better than anyone the headache of the Salary Cap. Knowing that Stammer doesn’t want to hit free agency and wants to resign, by not entertaining an extension yet, might put Stammer in a situation where he’s willing to agree to a lower amount than he originally would’ve asked for once they finally ignite extension talks.

That IS a possibility. His family is gonna play a HUGE part in this decision. His son (Carter) was born here and has lived here his entire life. And let's face facts, kids. Tampa ain't a terrible place to live and raise a family. Especially if you're wealthy. Also...the media crush isn't what it is in places like Canada and the "traditional" markets. Stammer can walk around here and not get bombarded by fans and paparazzi. He's been in our establishment often. He's left alone. He can walk down the street here. Bertuzi who was on the Bruins last season HATED Brad Marchand for years until last season when he was HIS TEAMMATE and was just fine.
