The side where individuals stockpile firearms, know survival skills, eat real meat, know how to hunt and fish, how to live in wilderness, oppose mass immigration and emphasizes family values and masculinity will win. You all can figure out who that side is.

I think that it’s not applicable to the us here you have foolish cowards on the left. And overly patient people showing to much self control on the right. I’m pretty sure before a civil war you’ll see something like a blm/antifa protest turn into a bloodbath when a much smaller group of right wing people show up. Something like a 10 to 1. And they get themselves stomped.

A cohesive unit is far more effective than a divided one. Everyone I have met from the military (especially infantry) learn quickly that racial, religious or whatever factors are irrelevant because that person fights for you and you fight for them. And let's be honest, if anyone were to declare a civil war, its very unlikely to be the Democrats. So any declaration against the state will be viewed as seditionist and unlawful

And as long as the police and military continue to bow to them as legetimate and enact violence on their behalf, they will have their way... until the levee breaks. Unfortunately, we can't vote our way out of this as demonstrated on January 6. Fyi, have you seen your local State Guard Armory? They are dilapidated, not combat oriented, and keep nearly zero lethal arms or ammo on hand.

I'm of the opinion that social media, rather than the actual impact of pressing political issues on either side are what is slowly moving us towards Civil War. Social media's general growth strategy is to increase engagement, which means determining what people like or dislike and subsequently suggesting "hot" topics they dislike which then cause them to debate and argue with others. Paradoxically though, the same algorithm also gives content that entrenches people in their worldviews/politics/community bubble. The internet compared to a decade ago is a night-and-day difference in the amount of toxicity and petty drama. There needs to be a society-wide movement to temper or reduce the use of social media. Think about it, if Facebook and the like can be directly linked to genocides like the ones seen in Ethiopia/Tigray or Myanmar, what impact is it having on us here in the developed world?

The only blue areas with any significant population are New Orleans, North Baton Rouge, and Shreveport, surrounded on all sides by red areas of rednecks and Cajuns with guns. The 80-year gap between major conflicts comes down to the generational adage by Hopf: “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times." It takes at least three generations for the cycle to come around again, and without the endless printing of money to maintain utopian fantasies the conflict would already be upon us. "Unsustainable" is a massive understatement.

  • @joshuapowell2675

    @joshuapowell2675

That's always been an interesting adage to me that seems like it's taken subjectively by different generations. Because most people would call the 50s and 60s a "golden age" for America. That then leads into Vietnam and a lot of social and political unrest. Then we get the late 80s-early 90s where we're back to relative stability and prosperity. And then 2001 shakes things up again, flowing into the 2008-2009 financial crisis. We get another brief time of good fortunes and then we see another major dropoff in the early 2020s. So I don't think it's necessarily a three-generation rotation. Rather I would say it's every half-generation that we see the cycle repeat itself. The 80-year gaps this guy proposes are more like drawing constellations. If you focus on specific points, you can create a certain narrative, but you're ignoring other little points that would likely throw the theory off

@@TwilightMysts I mean I wouldn't disagree that there's probably simultaneous cycles on both a micro and macro level. I think there's validity to that idea. But the theory that it occurs on an 80-year cycle seems like it's trying hard to fit the data to a model rather than fitting the model to the data. I would point to something like the business cycle in economics where the pattern is pretty predictable, but the timing isn't that exact and gets pushed forward and backward by different events. You kind of have to glance past other inter-Anglo conflicts to make the point that ~80 years is the pattern. And I would probably say there's a bit of an inconsistency with how the chosen conflicts are framed. The English Civil Wars saw parliamentarians (who were the majority) fight back against royalists who were in control. Same could be argued for colonists vs loyalists in the American Revolution. But the American Civil War is much different in that a minority tried to break away from the ruling majority. And in today's "conflict" Democrats are the majority with Republicans holding on via the electoral college (Fun fact, 5 presidents have lost the popular vote and won the electoral college. All were Republicans.) I respect the extensive work and thought in this piece, but I think some of the logic is flawed

So many generalizations and tropes. A major problem in how a lot of Americans think about politics is they think Blue is Left and Red is Right. It’s not. Both major parties support the rich and oppress the poor. The cultural wars are a perfect tool to keep Americans divided amongst themselves. The thing that true left-wing or socialist politics has is the ability to appeal to the majority. Would you risk your life for a better world for all or a dictatorship of the wealthy? In the civil wars of Russia or Spain for example, or Syria more recently, a big chunk of the army sided with the revolutionary left because they were convinced by the political cause. In all three cases, foreign intervention and internal political division were factors. The Spanish and Syrian revolutions were defeated. The Russian Bolshevik-led rebels were victorious, but at such a cost that most of those that made the revolution in 1917 were dead by the mid 1920s fighting the Right and foreign armies. So the Right won from within under Stalin. I get this analysis from a Marxist perspective. I encourage y’all to check it out and keep your minds open. 👍

The problem this line of thinking runs into is how the message is presented to the public. Historically, leftist/socialist movements have been geared towards the working class and highlight struggles that are faced by the majority of the population. In the modern West, and America specifically, the leftists/socialists are engaged in a culture war that pins a small minority of the population against the rest regardless of social/economic class. When 60% of the country is white and the message is that whiteness is evil you are missing out on a majority of the nation. Fighting against oppression and the rich establishment is a great way to garner support, but that support is being thrown away when they label anyone who doesn’t 1000% agree with them an “oppressor” and when the establishment co-ops their talking points. Look at Bud Light and Target championing leftist talking points and getting hit in the wallet for it. Look at the backlash towards “wokeness” in media and how it’s affecting the profits of companies that were universally loved ten years ago. Alternatively, read Kaczynski’s “the systems neatest trick” to understand how the establishment uses “revolutionaries” to their advantage. Leftists/socialists could gain major support from a disenfranchised and rapidly-sinking middle class but they are getting in their own way by painting with a broad brush and appealing to groups that are a fraction of a fraction of the total population. You will not get the workers of the world to unite if you treat a majority of them as evil racists and tell them their way of life is a problem that needs solved.

It'll really come down to the personal courage and morals of naval commanders, but I'm pretty sure they have a contingency plan in case of civil war, to basically shield the country from foreign intervention while the internal war brews, and then submitting to whatever regime emerges from the ashes. Also, the United States might well be the single hardest country to occupy on earth. Maybe second after Russia, due to sheer land mass and armed citizenry. The Left is so outmatched that nobody will likely have time to seriously intervene by the time it is over. Moving troops across the oceans to intervene in another country is a massive logistical undertaking and to move enough troops and assets to tilt the balance of an American Civil would be virtually impossible for anyone, but the US. Europe is heavily dependent on the US to defend it, Russia is getting beat in Ukraine in large part do to bad logistics. How do they hope to meddle in America. China lacks a large blue water Navy and likely has many of the same logistical problems Russia has. That's not to mention the US has nukes and nobody is going to want to end up on the wrong end of those. Also a lot of people seem to think that Russia would back the Republicans and the Europe would back the Democrats, but they're looking at it all wrong. Europe and America's allies will want to end the war as soon as possible and Russia, China and America's enemies will want to prolong it. For America's allies who depend on America for their defense and maintaining the global system of trade and peace, their primary interest would be in ending an American Civil War as fast as possible to get things back to normal as fast as possible. I think it's far more likely they diplomatically convince left wing factions to give up sooner once it is obvious the right would win. For Russia and China they'll back whoever they need to to drag out the conflict likely only with weapons, supplies and money. With America out of action they can run amuck and achieve their own geopolitical goals.

One point that I didn't hear in this well thought out presentation (or I missed it) is that the U.S not only has a huge beloved Military but there are also millions of Veterans. A great deal of them are highly experienced combat veterans of twenty years of recent wars. That is also a huge factor when determining what side would win depending on which side each veteran chose to fight with. It would also drag out a war a lot longer with resistance and all out refuse to surrender mind-sets

As a 14 year veteran who has lived in big cities and rural areas working with the public. The vast majority of us are pro right. The left wants to constantly decrease our pay and demonize us. The right honors us and most importantly the Constitution. I have personally never met an extreme left veteran, although I am certain they exist. Most Democrat veterans are in the middle and love our country and the Constitution. The far left wants to destroy that. Many Democrat veterans have expressed to me that they will vote Republican. The Democrat's messed up when they went from the middle and moved closer to the far left.

David Brin's "the Postman" is instructive; many people will support re-establishing the Constitution of the United States and it will require strong leadership and not often mentioned, *communications* that are somewhat reliable.

Additionally I could see foreign powers having vested interests in helping certain sides depending on how the civil ar breaks out. If its a complete fracture Texas would find many countries suddenly willing to give aid, if its a 2 way split then I could see the acting president if the situation dire enough calling in article 5 and the rebel faction either being strong armed into diplomacy or be swiftly crushed. either way I think many Americans would try their best to stay away from civil war and that despite differences I would not wanna kill my own people.

80% of the US Military voted for Biden according to BeautheFifthColumn (who is a vet in the South) This was before Jan 6th and the end of Roe vs Wade. Most of the FBI would also support the Left. Between abandoning the Kurds, insulting the US Army, getting a Seal killed and Eighty MILLION DOLLAR PLANE destroyed in Yemen Trump is the MOST HATED PRESIDENT by the US Military! Most female soldiers and some Rural women will support the Pro-Equality Progressive Left over the Pedophile, Pro-Rape, Pro-Incest Right! Hookers too! (Left has a massive morale and intel advantage) At least 15% of the US Military is Nonreligious. They will be some of the best fighters in the Military. Meanwhile, the most conservative elements tend to be the ones that are unstable and ineffective in a real fight. Black, Jewish, Ukrainian, Polish and Russian-Americans would fight and exterminate the Right! Jan 6th showed how pathetic the Right is. Even with the help of traitorous veterans like Ashley Babbitch and racist cops they failed miserably! And they were treated with Kiddy Gloves plus Trump delayed the DC National Guard!!! Drones easily curbstomp Soldiers as shown in Ukraine. The Left has Drones (due to being rich and having a real technological edge) and Hackers. (Most mining is done by machines) France could have ended WW2 back in 1939 had they just committed to an offensive. Germany had NO EFFECTIVE TROOPS in the French border! The Chinese would have easily beat the martial Mongols had they have access to Drones. (Something the Left has much more than the Right) Ukraine has used Drones to decimate Russian infantry, artillery and navy! (Same when fighting the Japanese) Mississippi is a raw, cancer, obese-ridden shithole. Relies on California’s taxes to the Feds as its main income. Their primary source of Healthcare is Doctors without Borders!!! One of the biggest cities in Mississippi is full of black people. They have nothing to lose but everything to gain by massacring the racist white conservatives! Mattis won’t be leading the Conservative rag-tag militias. It would be Cancun Cruz and Pedophile Roy Moore! (Mattis hates Trump and Flynn is just a Sychopant) With just a few keystrokes Leftist hackers easily turn the Conservative areas into a fiery hellhole!!! If an actual civil war happened for reasons that weren’t driven by media it would be a full scale army vs army after the us military collapsed. If it’s a civil war driven by the media it will more look like small factions of left wingers using guerrilla tactics on massive militias held by the right, the primary fighting being in government with policy and control. At this point too much of the military is die hard constitutionalist Americans so a civil war would look as it does now, political fighting for control over the institutions that influence the masses, and violence from the political faction who are driving the divide in the first place. This faction like any tyrannical faction of people will use propaganda, lies, false flags, policy, projecting and so much more to be able to control the masses through fear. FYI to sum it up we are already in a civil war, in fact this same civil war is happening in almost every country and nation and it’s all due to the same people, the same people that control the democrat party and much of the Republican Party, the same people who have monopolized world power and are trying to put the nail in the coffin. The two party system was revolutionized to weave out the constituents of the state and the individuals. Constituents of the state will blindly follow the democrat party while the individuals will turn to places they feel don’t represent this only to be lied to by those same people who promise sanctuary and provide none, creating a ideological ghetto for the individuals to be channeled into and targeted by the state. In essence despite being in a civil war it is one that’s been artificially produced by those in power to be able to identify who will conform to the new that they implement or won’t conform. So is it really a civil war if the conflict is created by them themselves or is this just subversion of culture and government projected as civil war.

The U.S. military takes two oaths, one to protect their country, one to protect their state. In the event of a civil war, these more often than not are mutually exclusive. Conservatives/Republicans tend to put their state above the federal., while Liberals/Democrats tend to put the federal above their state. Therefore, depending on who is in charge of the federal government we will see more or less defectors. As a conservative Christian former army medic, there’s a part of me that finds hope in your words. However, there’s a factor that you’ve left out of your calculation. The left wing power brokers know and understand most of what you estimate here. This is the reason for the open borders policy that they fight so hard for. It has been reported by many right wing folks that a large percentage of the illegals coming across the borders are fit men and trained by either foreign communist regimes or Islamic terrorists. I’ve personally seen a group of Islamics in black military like uniforms marching in formation beside a mosque. And that was almost 10 years ago. This cannot be an isolated group. The elite left either want to overthrow the country through allowing illegals to over vote us, or they are making preparations by bringing in illegal fighters from other countries to fight in the case of a civil war. I’m not saying we’d lose. But, I believe the fight would be much harder than the case you’ve presented here.

I agree on this take. I don't think it's going to be nearly as "clean" as the last one. The patriotic Conservatives would be fighting the Nazis and the Communists, who are also fighting each other as well as the Trotskyists and Anarchists, who are all also fighting the Liberals and Libertarians, who are also fighting each other.

@@localcompanion another model is something similar to Kaiserreich’s Second American Civil War. In it, a military coup happens after the 1937 election, and then the Midwest and Deep South rise up in rebellion (on opposite sides of the political spectrum). Then the west coast refuses to recognize the military junta as the real federal government and goes their own way (also, New England becomes a Canadian puppet).

@@localcompanion So, back to the main video, which I think has some major flaws. He makes the claim whichever side gets the support of the military will win. America has had a paramount allegiance clause sense after the Civil War. You are no longer equal parts Georgian and American or Californian or American, you are American. This is especially true of our military which no longer thinks of themselves as a Texas division, Tennessee regiment, or any state they are US soldiers. You could see mass civil unrest even as far as killings and riots with out major military action. You could see that kind of unrest leading to change of a political and social nature, without the idea of rural areas surrounding metropolitan areas like the video suggested. I don't see how people think that an army of hundreds of thousands of American Citizens will march on each other over political ideology, when 60% voter turnout suggest a heated election. Most Americans just don't care enough without a huge insighting incident. The military will not take a side in anything as long as there is an active "Legitimate" power structure.

    1. I think you might be shocked how many people WANT something to happen. Not necessarily violence, but an end to the current status quo, whatever that means. 2. There are theoretical relatively peaceful paths, but IMO they basically require a broad number of groups to unite in obliterating the reach of the DC power structure before fracturing into a bunch of smaller nations. IDK how likely that is. There's so much to be gained from being in control of the most powerful thing in the history of the world that there will always be people willing to do anything for the reigns of power. Even the states themselves are largely more powerful than most nations. 3. You are so right about Portland ME. It mystifies me how it's become one of the most insane leftist places in the US. I spent some time there in 2020 and it was bonkers. BLM signs in every window, communist murals all over, homeless dudes clubbing each other in the shadow of the massive civil war monument in the center of the city. Absolutely bizarre to witness.

Saaaaaame!! I agree with number 1 completely. I've been feeling that way for a while now and the more people I talk to, it seems that more and more people feel this way. Especially young men. In all honesty, it feels like secretly all men despise the current status quo/system, and the ones who are vocal about it get outraged upon, or ignored. And the ones who become antifa or soyboys, direct that hatred of the current order towards themselves. But in reality we're all facing the same thing, because everything "just doesn't feel right anymore" you know? Something has to change and people are ready to embrace whatever is coming next.

@@Midnight_Metro Nah, the air force would be all but useless in a civil war. If there's another civil war it's not going to take the form of both sides putting on uniforms and fighting traditional battles, it's going to be a guerilla war. Planes and bombs aren't that useful if you don't know which targets to hit because they're all wearing civvies. Sure, the air force COULD theoretically say, "Hey, that town voted 90% for Trump in 2020, must be a lot of right wing militia there, hit it!" But in an age of social media, a campaign that deliberately targets civilians, elderly, women, and children is going to lose all of its claimed legitimacy very VERY fast. Aside from maybe recon I don't see a lot of use for the air force in this scenario.

@@chriswhinery925 Right, but chances are the left is going to be the legitimate U.S. government in the event of a civil war, which means the left would have access to all the aircraft. Air Force would definitely be impactful and probably critical in the early stages of a civil war.

Interesting video, but the mistake in logic, is that it won't purely be a war between the right and left, it will be a war between whoever holds the Whitehouse and those who breakaway. Since it's unlikely to think of leftwing groups initiating a full on violent rebellion, the most likely scenario is a Democratic president under which a right-wing rebellion occurs. The advantage the left will have then will be institutional control of all major federal institutions, of importance, the army, CIA, and Homeland Security. Yes, there will be breakaway soldiers and agents, but there will remain tens of thousands of federal agents who remain loyal to the side that is giving them a paycheck. The same goes for the military. And at the start of a conflict, blue states will quickly mobilize their national guards and state patrols, and you can expect some red state governors will do the same. The right-wing rebellion will have to overcome major initial disadvantages in order to gain its footing. And you have to consider foreign intervention that would likely side with the side in power. A Nato force could respond with thousands of troops to help stabilize the current regime. And corporations, valuing stability, might leverage private security forces in aide of the existing powers. In any case, while the right has many raw advantages, in the actual most likely rebellion scenario, it would probably begin at a deep disadvantage unless it could quickly execute a military coup that captures Washinton, DC and establish a legitimate power structure that Americans fall in line with.
