They were excellent bought a lot to the table

They also paved the way for women reggae artists too! Being in a male dominated genre they solidified themselves as legends in their OWN right! Love to see them getting props as they are an integral part of Bob’s music.

You're right...Other early ones who propped up female singers in male-dominated reggae were Hortense Ellis, Phyllis Dillon and the late Cynthia Schloss...

Thank you for giving these Queens their flowers! 💐💐💐I love the I-Threes, their harmonies and distinct vocals were everything.

As a little girl in Jamaica 🇯🇲, I fell in love with the I-Threes first and then Bob Marley #lovesign

These 3 Queens blessed the world of reggae music with their voices in a way I will always be grateful for hearing.

The golden voices...Rita, Marcia, and Judy. As Bob Marley fan, I regard the I three as backbone of the wailers. Their talent and sweet voice hit the heart and added mellow to Bob's songs. Thanks for the video and giving them the rightful credit.

I was blessed to see Sistah Rita perform live, as well as Sistah Marcia Griffiths. Never seen Sistah Judy perform live. 💚💛❤️

It's even rumored the I -Three were formed when the ladies performed at Lee Scratch Perry's birthday party.....Judy Mowatt was my heart-throb ❤️ when growing up listening to reggae ....Marcia Griffiths 's version of Nina Simone's Young Gifted snd Black is one of the greatest ever covers in 20th century popular music in my opinion ..... And Lord, she was and still is a BEAUTY in the 2000s.

As a little girl in JA, I dreamed of being a part of something as magical as the I Threes. I have nothing but respect and admiration for these ladies and their body of work.

Behind every successful man, there're women.

Legendary singers, but let me say that Judy Mowatt is the Goddess of Reggae! About the I-Threes, I think that the choir that gave me more goosebumps and tears is the one in Babylon System!

They were golden!!!!

They are so beautiful and talented. I love them all.

I seen the I-Threes in Edinburgh in the early 80's. Even managed to dance with them. I never ever have seen more beautiful women. In spirit or looks. Wish there was more pics and films of them online. They should be seen more.

Although I never had the pleasure to see Bob Marley while he was alive, I was blessed to see the I Threes when they accompanied Ziggy Marley on his “Hey World” tour I think it was 1984? He had The Wailers with him. It was an incredible show. There was one part of the show when he began doing his dads songs, not only the same vocal style but with ALL of his dad’s mannerisms and dance moves. It was absolutely chilling and thrilling to watch and of course the crowd went wild. It was also fantastic to see and hear The I Threes up there on stage singing together with those smooth beautiful vocals. I always had a great crush on Judy Mowatt. She was such a gorgeous sublime woman. Thanks for the video. It was very well done.

Very few male reggae artistes can make an impact without quality female backups. This is the ingredient missing in the otherwise outstanding reggae band "Earthkry"
