Something about doing a powerful bottom turn or cutback with longer boards is just so cool.
Larry Boy Rios in the beginning. He caught the heaviest wave I had ever seen at pipe in the 95 Chiemse masters. In the round of 32. A 12'er that stayed on 1st reef. Thing was one mean slab of water👑

07:25 Eric Barton- an old friend from Sandy Beach. Underground ripper who charged big waves with Tony Moniz back in the day. Got the first Surfing Mag cover shot at Teahupoo from Hank Foto. Won a pro event on North Shore. He finished college but maybe could have pursued pro surfing more? Nah, all good. Now a fireman and works for Hawaiian Air. Good man. The "stinker" is "our" friend Chris Brown who fell to his death in 2019 from the cliff at the Douglas Preserve here in Santa Barbara......
