I really like Jeannie, I really do. However,every time she tell stories about her marriage it always makes her come off as the "bad guy" in the relationship whether or not that's truly accurate. I'm not sure what it is, maybe she's just a little too real or something. Anyway, Our arguments don't last any longer than a day so I apologize when I'm wrong and he apologizes when he's wrong. I would never apologize just to "keep the peace" because that seems insincere to me and I only give out genuine apologies.

C Fas I love Jeannie just as much as ya'll but it's fantasy expecting and hoping her marriage will last. Her and Freddie are two totally different people with different values, goals, and aspirations. Both of which will hit the mid 30s in the next few years where these values will divide them even more. Especially with the baby situation.

Some of the suggestions Jeannie makes are just plain weird though. Like her really wanting him to admire and appreciate other women's bodies and make more female friends. Errm Jeannie, that sounds a lot like an open marriage. I think Freddy tries harder than her though. Any issue can be worked out if enough effort is made. Jeannie needs to make more of an effort instead of holding grudges.

I'm a very headstrong person and if I feel like I wasn't in the wrong, then an apology from me is out of the question; however, I'm also fully aware that me thinking I'm right doesn't always mean I am; and I still find myself having a difficult time saying sorry. It's definitely something I have to work on. Also, I agree with Adrienne. Sleep does cure all. Whenever I have one of those days where I'm very moody, and I pretty much dislike everyone, going to sleep and waking up with a clear conscience always helps.

No Jeannie, that's not right. Tamara's perspective on this issue is the most mature and enlightened one. Jeannie's is one of an adolescent seeking to establish their independence. Until one moves beyond this point in their development the compromise required for marriage can be very difficult or impossible to come by. This is probably the cornerstone of the issue that Jeannie and Freddy have.

I agree with Tamera, I'm the same. I am always the one to apologize first because I want peace. To be honest, about 99% it is my fault anyways.. my mouth needs a filter. But the real issue is people have a lot of pride :/ It was hard to say I'm sorry once and I knew it was because I was being prideful. I sucked it up and just blurted out the words. I felt so liberated!

So Jeannie is my absolute fav person on this show but rewatching the old seasons, I can see that it isn't totally Freddy's fault they broke up. With any relationship I guess... For a long time I thought of him as a monster but if you rewatch the first couple seasons you can see they were having issues long before the other women was part of the picture. I think it will work with Jeezy tho.

I think you need to weigh up how important that issue is in relation to the relationship. If the relationship is worth more than the argument then just let it go. I've apologised when I didn't want to before. It's more like an 'I'm sorry we argued' or 'I'm sorry I got angry'. This calmed both myself and the other person down and then I found another way to revisit the issue when the other person was more likely to hear me out. I think it is a healthier way of dealing with things than keeping malice with the other person.

Yes, recently I've tried to do more of this. I agree with you, some issues just appear to be so trivial even if they're not when you think about how much the relationship means to you in comparison. I just apologise for loosing my temper and revisit the issue in detail later on when we both exchange sincere apologies after hearing both perspectives in a calmer delivery.

IMO the true purpose of saying your sorry is to recognize your mistakes and trying not to make the same mistake again. Also it shows the other person respect and the opportunity to let the issue go. If the other person still wants to hold on to it then that's there issue.

Those who don't apologize when they know they are wrong , are people who have Ego and Perfectionism issues. They think it's beneath them or are better than that. It takes a REAL woman and a man to say I'm sorry first, if they were in the wrong.

I'm great at admitting when I'm wrong because my ego isn't that big, and it reaaally puts people off haha. They always have to take a step back and process what just happened. Also, generally with relationship fights (especially when it's a long relationship) you're usually both wrong to an extent. Usually it's miscommunication. You've got to talk it out and find out what went wrong together (using a lot of 'I felt' at the start of sentences, not accusatory at all), and then you calm down because you'll usually find that if you're not with a total asshole, it was just a misunderstanding or there was a valid reason for what happened. Once someone starts pointing the finger or swearing the conversation will go nowhere. Also, letting your partner know that you can see that their point is valid when you put yourself in their shoes is usually what people need to hear to move on.

Vince did admit one time that Tamar is the one to always say sorry first...
